Terapin said:I turned 40 this year and kicked my own butt to get up and out. I will, God willing, run my first half and first (and likely only) full before 41.
40 is a powerful year for many women.
For me, I wanted to regain my strength and focus, after devoting 15 years to raising kids and getting my career started. It has been a time of inner focus, and wanting to get my groove back on.
I look way hotter at 40 than I did at 38.
I am a lean, mean, 40-machine.![]()
Hey! I'm going to be 38 next month! I think I look pretty hot right now, but I hope to be as hot as you at 40.

I started running last year after two miscarriages within six months. I felt like my body failed me and I needed to take back some control. The idea for the PHM came up and I decided, I can do that. Started and I haven't stopped. I might need therapy because I feel this need to keep beating myself, lol. I have since run another 1/2 and PR'd on that one and today I ran my 4th 10k and although the official results aren't in yet, I'm sure it's my best time yet. My next challenge is the Disney Marathon. I'm sure it won't be my last full and I HOPE to get the Goofy in in two years and then train to finish a 1/2 Ironman by my 45th birthday.
Whatever the reasons, it feels good to get out there and getter done!!!
