I was wondering where all you guys are staying for the marathon? I am most definitely not a runner and will not be participating, but AOA is all booked up for Saturday the 13th in the Little Mermaid rooms. I was just wondering if it was all all you runners staying there? *scowls* Hehe just kidding. It is available Friday and Sunday just not Saturday.

Good luck guys :goodvibes

::::guilty::::
:rolleyes1

My daughter and I have a Little Mermaid room from Thursday to Monday, can't wait!

Runners are spread out all over. I'm staying at SSR again. I'm DVC so I booked mine months ago on points.

Booked there also. I'm an AKV owner but I didn't know we were going to do this at our 11 month mark, so alas no value 2 BR for us. I'm hoping my wait list comes through.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards. Please excuse the typos.

Contemporary! But we were originally booked for Little Mermaid room at AoA, so I thought I free'd a room up for you ;-)

Staying at POR, just like 2003. Nice and quiet with good access via boat to Downtown Disney. Wish I had the $$ to do the Poly or Contempo, but I'm going solo and that's to much for my allowance money.

As always, we will be at a campground site in Fort Wilderness. I drive the motor-home to the EPCOT parking lot Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings as a base station for us and family/friends. It is great having all the comforts of home with two bathrooms just a minute from the action.

Can I be your friend?? LOL

Just finished 9 miles today. Actually felt pretty good. Its just this pain in my foot that is killing me during the run. Usually comes on around the 4 mile mark. Starts in the ball of my foot and goes to my toes where they meet the foot. If I curl my toes and run its tolerable, but would really like to figure out how to correct it. Any thoughts?

Guilty as charged. :) Our group has two Little Mermaid rooms booked Saturday through Thursday. I had initially thought we'd jumped the gun with booking way in advance but I guess not!

Are your shoes too small? My running shoes are almost a full size larger than my every day shoes!

I am not a doctor.

This reads to me like PF (plantar fasciitis). The best thing to do is to roll the ball of your foot on a frozen bottle of water as long as you can stand it after you run. It’s extremely unpleasant and works very well.

If it is PF the water bottle trick is awesome! I had pain in my arch in the Spring, and that really helped. No troubles for a while now!

Thanks, the pain stops pretty quick after I stop running. I usually walk for about a mile after my run and the pain is gone by the time I'm done. Maybe I'll look into some inserts.

Sounds more like metatarsalgia to me. Especially the part about relief with the toes curled. Shoe fitting is one cause. Do the shoes taper or get too pointed at the toes? Is the toe sprung too much (curls up too much)? If you don't mind saying, what shoes are you running in?

Not sure what to say about treatment. Ice probably. Rolling the foot on a golf ball or tennis ball may help. A shoe with more forefoot cushion may help. I think they make metatarsal pads.

Good luck.

I'm running in Brooks Glycerin 9. I'm using the pads, but not noticing much help. I'm going to go back to the running store and see if they have better pads or see if they can tell if I have them placed right

Coming out of left field with this reply----DW was having similar problems and as APrunner noted it was meta.... She tried a pad and it did not work. Went back to running store, a more knowledgeable employee helped her and suggested a second pad with a difference in size and location resulting in issue being solved.

Good luck.
