Things that helped me get through running today:
1. Ending at the burger place for a strawberry milkshake.
2. my new lululemon sports bra that I swear to god is most the comfortable thing EVER and I will totally wear in lieu of regular bras.
3. The knowledge that my friend started the couch to 5k plan because I'm apparently inspirational now.
4. I'm a fraction of a pound away from getting my wii to stop calling me overweight and finally be... normal.

That's funny! While driving home from the gym, I saw a new burger joint and had Siri text DH to tell him we should try it on my 'off' day. I've been doing good with my diet all week so I can treat myself, albeit carefully, on Saturday.

I plan on doing Saturday's 9 miler at the park near the ocean. Hopefully the breeze will make it bearable. We are going to bring the kids and their bikes but I have a feeling I should have a back-up person there to take them in case they get bored. I imagine they'll see the playgrounds and just want to stay there instead of biking the path with DH and I.

P.S. I hate when Wii Fit makes me a round ball.

The diet is a killer, but I've found it helps to plan out all the meals once a week and know which days I'm splurging on what and then save half for lunch the next day. Unless the popcorn truck shows up at work because then all bets are off, it's a once in a blue moon kind of thing.

That wii infuriated me so much it's the reason I lost 45 lbs--I tell everyone: you wouldn't think it could do that to you, but it does!

Congrats on reaching your weight goal--or rather, Wii's weight goal. And how insensitive of Wii to depict people that way. And also congrats for being an inspiration--it's a well deserved "warm fuzzy" feeling.

Just got back from a nasty 7 miler... 94 percent humidity, 72 degrees and a dew point of 74. I felt like I could hardly breathe. Nevertheless, we press on. One bad run does not a bad marathon make, right?

Add 25 degrees and that's what we're running in over here. I'm beginning to question my sanity in signing up for a fall marathon. October and Dublin can't get here fast enough. :)

We're official! I booked our stay at AoA this morning for the weekend of and week after marathon. :cheer2:

It ended up being a little bit of a hassle. After reading the advice on this board to not book through runDisney, I called CR last night and the CM told me runDisney was offering a discount for marathoners. Well, they have normal business hours so I had to wait until this morning to call, when I was told by the CM there that there is NOT a discount, and she confirmed what I've read here that the rate you get when you book is final and no future discounts can be applied. Finally, after a third phone call back to CM, I was able to book our trip. Whew.

Now that marathon and hotel/ticket reservations are out of the way, I guess all that's left is actually training for the race. We're using Hal Higdon's Novice Supreme plan--6 weeks down, 24 to go! :)

Please do not be overly worried at this time. Because of the heat and humidity we have in Fl. your training sessions will be much harder than usual and you will feel lousy. Unless you are super human, it is what it is.

I train with a heart monitor and can easily see my heart working harder, more beats per minute, with slower speeds and seemingly greater effort. The solution could be to slow your pace and extend the distance so you build a better base and when cooler days pop up, you train faster.

Thank you, I'm trying not to get discouraged. I'll slow it down on the next run and see if it helps.

Anther group one from Princess this year. The villianesses. This was a fun one even though the line was a bit long.

I really wanted to stop for a picture with them, but I'm too slow to wait in those lines:sad2:

I got a beautiful 86 degree evening, and for the first time ever, ran 8 minutes STRAIGHT!! that's big for me. After that I walk a minute, sometime 2, then run another two or three. Yep, feeling like a rock star this evening, and replenishing hose list calories with a nice Bud Light lime. :)

Tomorrow, we have the TapnRun. Its a 4k with beer stops. Should be fun!!!

I have to ask since I would love some more comfortable ones, which sports bra was it?

I'm looking at my calendar and I have a few training questions. On October 6, the marathon training calendar lists a 7 miler with MM. The next day I'm running the Diva 1/2. I'll just make my half my long run for the weekend but what about the MM? Also, on the 13th, DH and I are running the R&R 10K and that day has a 20 mile run on the program. I know I'll be running a total of 19.5 miles that week, so in order to keep my scheduled marathon mileage (27 for that week), when should I get those 6.5 miles in or do I just scrap them?

Hi from Indiana! My husband ran the Mickey last year and is going goofy this year! He is trying to talk me into the Donald. I am really nervous to sign up. I have only walk a 5k in my life. Can I realistic train and finish?

I totally understand how nervous you are to sign up for your first half! I was the same way for the Wine and Dine last year. I was thinking if I could really do it and would I finish in time.

I would say if you feel you can maintain a 16 minute mile pace right now for a 5k you can totally finish the half and get that Donald medal! It is an amazing feeling to finish 13.1 miles and worth all of the anxiety and long runs in training.

You said the magic word...,train. As long as you are in good health and can dedicate yourself and can train for it, I believe you can do it! Good luck!

Hmmm......I don't know what MM is, so I won't comment on that. But as for the 20 miler--find a way to reschedule things to fit that in. While total mileage is important, you can't get the benefit of the LR (building endurance) by splitting it into 2 or more smaller runs. It's just not the same.
