Just got back from my 5th Disneyland Half. :cool1: Taking a week or two off, then back to training for Disneyworld and my Coast 2 Coast!! I'm excited, haven't been to Disneyworld in about 10 years.

Welcome back to Florida. Hopefully you realize that the C2C will require another California half since the medal is limited to participation within a calendar year.

We have a group that is running the weekend events with Parent Project Muscular Dystrophy/Run For Your Sons. The minimum fundraising for The Goofy, Full or 1/2 is $1200. If you run with them and fundraise they also offer room discount, and 2 tickets per runner for a Pasta Party and After/Victory Party.

Good Morning All!!

I just completed the Disneyland 1/2 last weekend and while we knocked off 32 minutes from when we only walked it last year it wasn't as fast as I hoped. Was hoping to come in right around 2:45 but finished at 2:58.

With regards to the proof of time for the full marathon, if I were to submit my 2:58, does anyone have any idea of what corral that may place me in to? I was in E for the Disneyland 1/2 and very much liked starting sooner (we were in F last year).

I didn't submit a time when I registered and am just not sure if leaving it alone is better or if my 1/2 time is decent enough to get my higher than the last corral.

Thanks in advance. Still so super excited to be running (well run/walking) my first full. Never in a million years would I have believed I would be excited about running...I was never a runner growing up (hated when we had to do it school) but now I actually look forward to getting out and doing my long weekend runs! :)

I say go ahead and submit it. It can't hurt anything, and at best you may move up a few corrals. Congrats on finishing the Disneyland half! :goodvibes:

Submit an email stating you just ran the DL half in 2:58 and expect to run the January event in 2:44. (it is a believable improvement and will gain you a few corrals. ) By not placing a time in the slot you are destined for the last corral so anything will help. It's worth the effort Oh, make sure to include your name and address in the email and good luck

Sorry, attached to the wrong post.... my bad)

I will be running the full marathon in January so would I tell them I finished the 1/2 in 2:58 and anticipate finishing the full in 5 1/2 hours or is that not a very realistic time frame? Besides continuing to increase my long weekend miles one of my big goals is to continue to increase my run/walk ratios to get faster. My very unrealistic time to finish is 5 hours but it gives me a big push to work towards hitting that time and really be good about my training over these next 4 months. :)

5.5 hours seems like a good aggressive goal to submit.

5:30 would be aggressive. Though, its not in the time range that really needs support so tell them 5:30. Worst thing that will happen is that you will end up the corral for the 6:15 runners. I would be shocked if that happens but it's still better than the last corral.

Thank you all so much for your support and advice! I truly appreciate it! Hopefully come January 13th, I will be able to come back and report I did it at or under 5 1/2 hours!! That would be such an amazing accomplishment for me! :goodvibes

On our way to pick up race packets for our first race! Saints Back to Football 5K. Ends on the 50 yard line in the Dome! I'm pretty excited and can't believe we're going to be doing the Half in 4 months!!!!

How many football teams have a 5k this month? Texans do also.

The GIANTS did theirs at the end of June. Totally bummed that i missed it, but I did a 5K in Yankee Stadium, which was very cool!

There's a 5k and 10k at Patriot Place and Gillette Stadium but I don't know if the Patriots are officially a part of it.

All so cool!! I know the website is nflrunseries so a lot of teams, I bet!! A racetrack run sounds cool, too. :)

We had a "stadium run" 5k last month that is in our stadium but I am not sure it is sponsored by the Jaguars.

Given the state of the Jaguars, you probably had more people at the stadium for the 5k than they do for a game. :rotfl:

OK...not this month, and not football...but don't forget the Formula 5K in Austin in November...on the new racetrack! :goodvibes

It is on the list if my schedule allows. I was going to purchase tix for the F1 race - until I realized that I could pay for a couple marathons and still have $$ left.

A&M used to have a ramp romp in and around Kyle Field. I think they still have it, but not well advertised nor executed. It's a 5 k that loops up and down the 3 decks of the stadium.
