Add me to the list of injured marathoners :-( 3 weeks ago I did my 14 miler and felt great during the run. After I stopped however my calf was really hurting. I foam rolled and iced it, put on my compression sleeves and went on with my day. Well, now it's been 3 weeks and I still can't run. The pain has gotten so much better- I went from not being able to lift my foot to being able to walk with no problems. The pain now is only from the pounding of running. It kind of feels like the pain is in my shin/in the bone now instead of in the muscle as originally thought. It doesn't hurt on the elliptical or when I walk, so I will try to maintain my fitness this way for now. I'm going to see a doctor this weekend and hope for the best. I'm lucky enough that it doesn't hurt to walk, so if it comes down to it I know I would be able to walk the marathon. But this is my first marathon and I was really hoping to be able to run the whole thing. Sorry for the rant and thanks for reading-- I just needed to vent my frustrations!
Good luck in your training everyone! Keep up the amazing work!!
