Official wdw hotels and charging ?'s....

We will be staying at Grovsenor and Royal Plaza in August. Since these are official WDW hotels do they have room keys cards with charging privliges? Or is the card for your room door just to open the door? Thanks for any past experiences.

Hi,
From what I have read on Deb's site, you do not have charging privileges with your room key when staying at official WDW hotels.
Only the WDW resorts can use their room key card for everything such as park pass, charging privileges, etc.
Deb Willis has all that information on her site, and, I believe, it is also available at mousesavers.com
This is about one of the only privileges not available at Official WDW hotels. I think you cannot have packages sent to your room either.
Check the site, all the info you could ever want, or need, is located on those sites!

I think you cannot have packages sent to your room.

For the hotels on Hotel Plaza, packages are delivered to guest services desk of the hotel. You will receive a message that you have package to pick up.

I just checked the information on Deb Willis's website for DTD hotels and room delivery of packages purchased at the theme parks. This is what I found. I cut and pasted this excerpt from the one of the DTD hotels she describes, but they all say the same thing:

"However, free room delivery of purchases from theme parks is not provided."

Were you able to have packages delivered to your DTD hotel from the theme parks? If so, maybe you could email Deb and let her know so she would be able to confirm it and update the information on her site regarding this benefit.
In any case, while staying at a DTD hotel you would not be able to use your room key to charge to your room because DTD hotels are not Disney owned. This is a perk only available to guests of WDW resorts.
