OKW is wonderful!! My parents own DVC at OKW and love it. It's so laid back. There's a golf course that runs right through it. Congratulations to everone who received upgrades.
I wouldn't worry about 1 Bedrooms over studios. In a one bedroom, one of the beds is a fold out couch. So if you are going with people who don't care about fold out beds (such as kids) that's fine. But if you are a party of four adults, someone may not appreciate splitting a room and getting the fold out bed.
The studio has a kitchenette. PERFECT for when you are on the dining plan if you ask me. Ever since we started purchasing the
DDP, we actually
prefer a studio to one bedrooms because two studios are less points (I think, the points belong to my parents and that's their dept) and everyone gets an actual bed.
However, if your party is two parents and a couple kids, you would probably prefer a one bedroom so you could have your own bedroom

and the kids would be out on the fold out in the livingroom. You'll have two TVs AND you would have a washer and dryer in your suite.
If you are on the dining plan, the kitchen should really not be a factor in your decision if you ask me.
There are washers and dryers by the main pool and the Turtle Pond Pool for people in the studios to use. They are free of charge! But you have to bring your own soap, or purchase it by the machines.
The slide at the main pool is terrific! It looks like a sandcastle. Adults can slide too. I've done it (40 year old here). There is a huge sand area for the kids to play in and some playground equipment. Lot's of steel drum music plays in the background. No zero entry pool though. SSR has one, if that's important to you I'd suggest changing your res over there.
There's tennis courts, shuffle boards, a sand volleyball court. ping pong, bike rentals, arcade, and the quiet pools even have grills if you want to cook out. I may be leaving things out, but you get the picture.
