Official Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend 2015 Thread ** May 7-10, 2015

I think this year's D&B is the only RunDisney one I've liked. I didn't care too much for the other ones! I don't think I'll cave though. Staying strong!!!!!

Just wondering who would do a AP refund ??? Maybe when you pick it up ??

Need or want the Dooneys.....that's the bigger question.:sad2: Honestly, I think if I going spend $$$$ Kate Spade is getting my money.
Honestly, I have no idea since I didn't remember to do it myself. I guess just ask the pick-up person? :confused3

I know! I have one that I like from marathon weekend in 2013, and I bought one again this year in January...the one I bought this year I ended up selling last week because I just didn't love it after awhile. But I DO like this Tink one. Oh well!

I'm not a fancy purse person, but that pattern is pretty cute! I'd like one, but I'd wimp out spending that much on a purse... (Of course, I'm spending tons on Disney, so perhaps it's all relative! :teeth:)

On a more serious note, I am freaking out big time about race weekend. My mom was originally coming on the trip with us, and she was going to be watching the kids during the races (both the 10k and half). Unfortunately, she's not going to be able to make the trip anymore (a family situation, but nothing serious, thankfully) and I have no idea how to even proceed fixing this situation. We're not from California, so I don't have any connections to babysitters or anything... I've never even considered getting a babysitter during out-of-town travels, especially pre-dawn for a race at a hotel. Ack! Does anyone have ideas?

Love this year's Dooney style.....wish I was doing the Tink half just to get the Dooney's so I don't have to buy on eBay !

Is there a friend or family member you could buy a plane ticket for? What about a trusted sitter who wouldn't mind sitting at the pool during the day?

That was going to be my suggestion. Check out flights and see if someone could come w/ you. I know people have mentioned babysitting on the DL ~ Disneyland section threads so maybe post a thread there? This is the section, people should be able to give you some answers on local companies or people... http://disboards.com/forums/disneyland-california.26/

The Princess race this year ruined me for Dooneys. I prepurchased a Tink in case I like it when I see it. I don't want to miss out again and have to pay ebay prices.

Saw friends I'm staying with for Tink. They're willing to get up early on half morning to make sure I get to the corrals when I want to. So that's a worry off my shoulders. Now to just find out the corrals.

Dooney designs are cute I'm getting one of the backpacks. I was able to get a look at the basic style when I was at Disneyland a few days ago (not the same Tink design or anything but they had what looked like a similar style so I asked to look at it while I was in the parks seems nice).

I purchased a Tink Dooney bag too! Could you believe someone is already selling this year's Think bag on eBay?! Unbelievable! Question: Are only runners have access in buy the bags pre-sale? If so, thank goodness! The people who brought the Princess Dooney bag to sell for profit have disappointed so many runners.

Ebay has gotten so bad for rD lately. But yes, anyone, even non-runners,can buy stuff, including D&B. The only thing they can't do is sign up for the virtual que for the Disney New Balances. They can buy them at the expo, but you need a bib number to presign up for the line.

Oh good. I remember the 1st year of the New Balance shoes, there were all these random people walking out of the expo with boxes and boxes. You just knew those would be up on ebay with inflated prices.

I don't think I'm going to be able to tell myself no to both the Dooney and some Pandora charms. I' going to try though!

I couldn't figure out why this thread was so inactive compared to the "official" threads for other running events. Now I know...

I can't decide whether to be happy or frustrated by my corral placement (yes they are up on the website!). On the one hand D out of G not bad! On the other, I missed getting into C by about three minutes.

I really wish they would still let us move corrals at the expo. I could be starting in B (a month after the PoT cutoff I got a 2:28 PoT and while at the time I acknowledged that being further back was going to be frustrating missing C by so little just made it so much more frustrating!)

Oh and good news/bad news about the 10k. Good news: new course almost entirely in park! Bad news: Ball Hill Road is now part of it and I don't remember that being on the map last year.

Yes....."Ball Hill Road" love the name you gave it. :sad2:
I thought I only had to deal with that during the DL 1/2.

Ack! Stupid mobile!

Yeah fun story it was either me or one of my friends who has done the DL 1/2 once who dubbed it that maybe a year or two back (can't remember when we started calling it that it was either before one of the Disneylands or one of the Tinks). Ever since then we've referred to it as such.

The Tink 1/2 has the hill also (same method of attack, heck same mile marker I think). I just wasn't expecting to have to do it twice in the same weekend with the PDC!

I know..twice in one weekend. We need a sign for that area...Ball Hill Road (LOL) That is always my least favorite part of the course for the DL 1/2. Tink has the underground, near Harbor House, on property where we go down in the tunnel thing and end up in DCA. I HATE the tunnel..it seems slippery to me. OK...enough complaining I should go workout.

Ick yeah the Harbour tunnel isn't much fun either especially with the second pass being right before the last mile. But in some ways I prefer it because it's shorter.

Actually my favorite course for Disneyland that I've done is Avengers (haven't done Star Wars and it will probably be a a year at least before I make the trip out for Star Wars with me going Dopey next year). Only one pass through the tunnel. And the Lewis Hill isn't nearly as steep as its Ball Hill cousin just narrower.
