I can finally see some improvement in my endurance. I am a walker,
not a jogger and this blizzard has definitely put a damper on my training, like a lot of you.
Yesterday I tried really hard and did 7 miles of woggling in 90 minutes! I got a blister on a pinky toe that I meant to cover with a pad because I know that is going to happen with any mileage over 5.
Today, with blister covered, I decided to see how far I could
walk only in 3 hours. Well, I did 10 miles in about 2 hours and 20 minutes. I was going to try to do 2 more miles, but my BIL and neice came with Girl Scout Cookie delivery, so that was the end of that.
The odd pain that I got yesterday and today had nothing to do with my lower body or back; I got the same pain going through my left arm that I get when sitting at the computer or driving in a car too long. I tried to relax my arms a little and do a little stretching while walking. It's nothing sharp, just achy. I've gotten it through the years, just not usually when I'm walking. It's similar to the pain I get through my butt and leg when I sit too long, too.
Anyway, I was encouraged by my times and distance today. Previously, I have only done 8 miles about 2x, 9 miles 2x, and 6 miles several times. At about 6 or 7 miles, I start to get really achy and clothing discomforts start to set in. I'm hoping that I can get in a good one next Saturday - my last chance before the real thing!!
