Official thread for the 2010 Princess 1/2 Marathon & 5k- REGSITRATION IS OPEN!

Can someone who has a code post the discounted ticket prices----4-5-6 day base or hopper is what I'm interested in. I want to see what the discounts are. I expect they're close to what they were for RFTT or ToT, but am really interested since my DS has a 1 BR at OKW for the week, and I might come down.

Thanks,

Maura

I don't know all of the different prices, but I called the I-Run phone number to find out what the prices were... I haven't registered for the race yet, but was able to get a quote for how much it is...mine was based on 4 people, 2 adults, two children (5 and 3) and they averaged out to $212 for five days, no park hopper. That is comparable to the full price for a kid's ticket and about $60 less than an adult ticket (I'm sorry, I'm speaking from memory, so I may be a little off).
We've decided to do the buy 4/get 3 promotion and stay at the Port Orleans (our first visit outside of a value resort, I'm a little excited!) because we want to be able to do the dining plan.

These were the prices I was quoted today. All Star Movies for 2 nights with AAA discount was $284.76. When I called the IRUN number I was told 2 night room only was $248.60, to add a 2 day base ticket the total became $467.42 and with a 2 day hopper it was $499.38.

Under the IRUN bookings these are packages with the $200deposit and full payment at 45 days, including the room only quote.

I think we are going to do the regular room only to have the more flexible cancel policy and hope for a general public code which hopefully would let us add an extra night.

Sorry, two more questions please!

Does anyone know how many people will be in the 5K?

And what is the advantage or disadvantage of using Active to register?

First sorry to all who did not get a "code" recently. I got a pretty good rate at All star Movies.

Maura I used my park ticket code (I got it when I signed up to run the Princess half) and checked prices...With the code (and I'm not going to give it out online) here are the rates:

1 park hopper
1 day 52.58 67.60
2 day 103.28 118.31
3day 140.84 155.86
4 day 171.83 186.85
5day 199.06 214.09
6day 208.45 223.47
7day 217.84 232.86

I hope that I didn't make any typo or put up info that I shouldn't have. There are also rate with waterpark options

Joan Thanks...this is just what I was looking for. Looks like prices have gone up a little since RFTT-no surprise. Tempting to come down!

Maura

This is not good you guys.

I went out for a 4 mile run with my fiance the other day, and about halfway through I started feeling some pain with my sciatic nerve again. I've had some twinges here and there recently, but nothing like the pain I had when I really hurt it last month. Anyway I took a break and started to jog and couldn't do it. We had to slowly walk the last 2 miles home. The past few runs I'd gone on had been fine, pain free even. I'm really upset that at this point if the pain keeps coming back, that I won't be able to run this race.

I think I might see if my insurance will cover a sports therapist or something like that. Has anybody been to one before? I want to do whatever it takes to keep me running!

oh i hope it turns out okay...sorry to hear you're having sciatic pain -- hoping whatever is giving you problems is healed quickly

I posted this question on the Donald thread but am posting it here also. My daughter and I are doing the Donald half in January. She is also doing the full marathon because she is crazy! Anyway, my question is: do you think that we will have time to rest our bodies and get in the proper training to do the Princess in March? We did the Princess last year and really enjoyed it. I have booked our room, but we haven't registered yet. Just wanting to see what your thoughts are. Thanks,

Meg

I am new to running, the princess 1/2 is going to be my first big race, i am also doing the espn 5K earlier in the week, I was just wondering if you are allowed to run with an ipod or headphones?

queen mimi-
I am doing the half in January and I'm planning on doing the Princess too. I plan on taking the week after the race off and starting again the following Sunday. It will be 2 months between the two so I don't foresee any problems with it.

Thanks, Megan. I was thinking that it might be nice to not actually have to start over all my training, just pick it up somewhere in the middle. I think that we will probably sign up. Waiting for DD to make the final decision. Thanks again.

Meg

Today during my run I met a woman who is training for the marathon in January and then the Princess with her daughter; it was so unexpected and very cool. Did anyone here met a sorority girl this morning during their run?

When I went out this morning I had a goal of 7 milers but I am apparently very bad at judging distance and ended up running almost 9 miles!
My next race is a 5 mile run on Thanksgiving; I'm really looking forward to it.

DS9 and I did our first C25K workout today. The Royal 5K is our goal. DH will join us as soon as he's over the flu. Ick! Hoping we don't get it!

Wish us luck!

Tig, good luck on getting started. I start Week 5 today- it's amazing how quickly the time goes by...and you will do great! Hope your husband is feeling better soon

Got the e-mail today that says capacity is at 50% - eek! :scared1: I need to register. My teacher bonus better come soon...

I loved the link to all the marathon gifts at Disney Floral. The husband will never be convinced, so I may send myself a gift for finishing! :rotfl:

Thanks for posting that the race is 50% full! I wasn't expecting that to happen yet. Just officially signed up!

I don't even want to admit to how much I am spending on race entries this year. :scared1: At least it's a healthy addiction, right?

50% full.......still plenty of time to sign up.
Rather the $$ are in my account than Disneys!!!

Can't wait til the next one!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!

I can hardly run the 60 seconds!!! (Although it was a tad easier this time than the 1st time.) And, we think we're gonna run a 5K??

YES WE ARE!!!!!!

iluvtig :thumbsup2
