chubbyjen, have you looked at the menus on other sites for the dinners? You may find you won't miss the MasterChefs as much as you thought. I hear Palo's is excellent and a really special dining experience. Maybe someday we'll get to go there too!

try looking at http://www.castawayclub.com It's really good site for getting current menus, spa treatments, navigators and other information. Also try http://www.dcltribute.com Gives alot of additional information about the surrounding area as well as DCL info.

Also, thanks for mentioning the two web sites here! Some new posters may not already be aware of them. I almost feel like a veteran myself, since I have been so 'addicted' to this board for the last year! But, we are still newbies... So, you true DCL veterans, go ahead and post / keep on posting, and give us your input. This is what is so GREAT about the DIS!!!

Anybody get their documents yet? I've been reading about people getting them for the cruise before ours. It's so exciting!

Jott3, I haven't started packing yet, but I am starting my packing list already. DH thinks I'm nuts, but then he sees nothing wrong with packing the morning we leave. My DS has been packed for months! He's got his little backpack all ready to go on a moments notice. We usually get an early flight so we wake him up at 4:30am when we travel. He likes to be prepared....just in case tonights the big night!

No documents here yet, and believe me, I keep checking! I never even received anything on the shore excursions. When we went on the 3-day in 2002 we received that stuff before we received the official documents.

Stimpy, my packing list is all done, too! Your DS sounds like me! I'd probably me packed already if I had enough clothes to wear in the meantime!

The waiting is the hardest part!

Stimpy-Thanks for posting the links. I've actually been to those sites several times before, going over the menu...but it's just so hard for me to decide which one I wanna skip. I guess it will all depend what I'm in the mood for.

Hmm...seems like everyone's preparing for the trip now. Hmm...should I start packing too??

I haven't started packing yet... But, once DS gets started into Kindergarten next week, those suitcases are coming out!!!

Wow, the cruise before ours is starting to receive their docs!!! I hadn't even thought of that! Boy, would I have been surprized if ours showed up! Guess I thought they came much closer to the cruise date. OMG! now I AM excited!

Wow, you guys start school early! When do the kids finish school for the summer? Up here, the kids don't go back until Sept after Labor Day. Considering some of the monsters in our neighborhood, that's way too far off! LOL

Just curious.....where is everyone from? Did we go over that already? My brain is fried lately so if we did cover that, please forgive me! We're from Long Island, NY, born, bred and probably die here, whether we like it or not!

We live in Tallahassee Florida. We won't have very far to travel for the cruise

I'm currently living in Reno, Nevada (for grad school and no I don't work in the casinos ) and am from lots of different places. Born in NY, lived in Houston....moved to Taiwan...went to college in Nothern California.

I am a native Californian. Born in Santa Monica and 3 moved times before I graduated High School. Since 1990, I have moved 15 times. Mostly in California, although I lived in Portland, Oregon for 2 years...

About school... Yes we do start early here! They go, for just a couple hours on Monday, for their first 'orientation'. School year ends early too. No school up into June here!

Right now we live in East Tennessee... (see my tag!)

Hearing about all of these locations, especially California.... Makes me think about that idea that one poster described for a DisMeet... They all brought a nice wine from an area winery where they are from... Then each family ordered something from room service, like a cheese tray, cookies, fresh fruit, etc... then they met on secret Deck 7 aft... I thought that sounded sooooo nice! We actually have three wineries in my area. Anyone game for a special DIS wine tasting? Maybe before supper on Freeport Day?

I got my official shore excursions brochure in the mail today. We have already booked the Ardastra Gardens excursion in Nassau and that is probably the only one we will do, but it was still nice to get the brochure!

It was great to actually receive something from DCL in the mail! I read mine all the way thru and dreamed about our cruise! Maybe our docs will be next!

I like the idea of the wine tasting, but I don't think we'd be able to do it. We'll be flying in a few days early and I don't know what I would do with a wine bottle all that time. Long Island has some excellent wines, atleast that 's what I hear! We aren't connisseurs (sp) of wine, we like what we like!

It looks like we're all pretty spread out around the country!

I think a DISmeet will be great! However, DH and I don't really drink wine so I guess we'll just do some soda tasting. By the way, did you want to meet up earlier? Just wondering.
