Official Survivor China Thread~~~ **Spoilers Inside**

So, what are everyone's thoughts on the show tonight? I thought it was interesting. I wish that Todd's plan would have worked and that Jaime was the one going home tonight, but at least they sent home one of the people that PG/Jaime thought was on their side.
For a second I thought that Frosti was going to spoil the plan (which didn't really work anyway), but I'm glad that Fei Long is taking him into their fold. I like Frosti.
I think that Peih Gee/Jaime/Eric will be picked off once they get to the merge, unless Jean-Robert decides to align with them and tries to get something going with them, since he feels like he may be on the chopping block.

Yep, I agree with you on this. Not too sad to see Sherea go. Although the way Courtney was talking tonight, she's not too happy with her tribe, so SHE might be the one to try to align with PeighGee, Jamie and Erik.

The previews looked kind of scary though....did it look like Jamie and Erik find the other immunity idol?? Turns out that PeighGee was right, and they're merging at 10.

So now we have to wonder about James and the immunity idol after the merge. Will Todd pressure James to give it back? At least after the merge it'll be individual immunities, so we'll really see what each person is capable of. Courtney will do lousy at challenges, but she'll prob. go far - usually the last challenge is endurance and there's no way she'll win that one.

Yeah, that's a good point about Courtney maybe joining PG/Jamie/Erik. What she said at the tribal council may have made her tribe not trust her as much since she said she feels like an outsider. It'll be interesting to see what PG/Jamie/Erik do once the tribes merge.

I actually missed the previews (got a phone call), but I hope that those two don't find the other immunity idol.

I was wondering that about the immunity idol that James has as well. It seemed like Todd was a bit upset that James had it and didn't even end up needing to use it. I also think Courtney seems to be safe for now. She's not much of a threat to anyone...she'll be easy for the others to beat in the individual immunity challenges.

ETA: Weird coincidence...I looked at Peih-Gee's profile on cbs.com and she has the same birthday as me (excluding the year)!

& really how stupid are these people.. NOT to wear layers of clothes everywhere as soon as they get off the plane in LA or whereever???: :confused3

When I saw the latest bunch on the very first episode I wondered about this also, and then I read an interview with the at-the-time just kicked out Ashley (the WWE diva, remember her?) - she spoke a little bit about this, and it made me realize exactly how much some parts of Survivor are really scripted! ;)

From fansofrealitytv interview with Ashley:

What about your clothes – how did you end up in fishnets and boots? Why weren’t you wearing those zip-off cargo pants and rain gear all the time just in case?

Oh my gosh. Of course! They give you an outfit and you have to wear it. Everybody’s screwed. Stillettos – I would never wear that outside. (laughing) I would never wear a pair of bra and panties that don’t match! (mock outrage) “What? Who gave me these? These are awful.” But no, I think maybe they looked at my character on WWE and thought, she’s always wearing fishnets, let’s put her in them. I’m like, nuh-uh. (laughing) There were other girls worse off than me. Jaime didn’t have a bra on. She didn’t even get a bra. That’s kind of crazy.

I would be miserable.

Tell me about it. We were freezing cold, that’s what I was more worried about. I was so worried about the cold. No one had outfits and every time it would rain, we were freezing – and it rained a lot. It was monsooning. So we were all huddled up like penguins trying to keep warm.

Thought this was interesting! And made much more sense too! :happytv:

:dance3:

Here's my take on the Immunity Idol at the other camp (the one James is currently residing in): James knows where/what it is. So, as soon as he gets a free moment, he goes and grabs it, so now he has two. Eventually, the other tribe members notice that the emblem thing is gone, so they pull down the other ones and think they may be the II. Which, of course, they aren't--the II clearly had writing on the back identifying it. So, James has two--he gives one back to Todd when he gets to the merge.

Remember, the smaller tribe doesn't have a clue, in any sense of the word. The few clues they had were shared with Frosti, I believe. I'm not sure they even know that there's an II in camp. I think the preview footage was merely a distraction for dramatic emphasis (like Ashley having unmatched underwear!)

I was thinking about that. I don't think they would of showed us the preview if they actually found it. I think we will find they are snooping in Jame's stuff, discover it, and try to determine if it is the idol.

Actually, Jamie got a clue about the hidden immunity idol from Leslie when Jamie was kidnapped to the "red" tribe (sorry, I just can't remember the tribe names). So if she sees James snooping around, she might figure out what he's up to. And from what I saw on the previews, it DOES look like Jamie and Erik find the immunity idol at their camp. Hopefully they don't know that James has the other one.

Here's hoping the red tribe sticks together after the merge (and maybe they can include Frosti) and vote out Jamie, PieghGee and Erik, although I think they might get rid of John Robert first. Yes, John Robert is a jerk and nobody likes him, but I think they should get rid of the slimy players before him.

I found this on the CBS website, previews for the next show:

What is a true friend? This is the question some Castaways try to answer in a heated argument about loyalty. The fierce hunt for Hidden Immunity Idols continues, as private property is violated and one Castaway falsely believes three Idols are in play. Later the tribes merge, and one Castaway torn between two alliances holds a lot of power--literally. In one of the most surprising Tribal Councils yet, one Castaway feels invincible and makes a shocking revelation.

Hmmm.....sounds like the yellow tribe goes thru James' stuff and finds his idol. And BuzznBell might be right - they think they find another idol, but it's not really. ANd wouldn't it be great if the one who "feels invincible" is the one who has the idol that really isn't the idol???

And wouldn't that just make your day if it was PG? I know it would for me! She and Jamie need to go. :)

Now, I may be hallucinating--stranger things have happened--but this is how I remember from the previews last night:

There was a shot of one of those pagoda post thingies (pardon my stupidity), with the square part missing, then the gang looking at it (PG, Jaime, Erik), and then them holding a wooden square. BUT--their square was blank on the back. The II already shown had writing on it saying it was the II.

So, I could see a scenario playing out where PG or Jaime had a fake II, thought it was the real thing, and mouthed off at tribal, thinking they were immune. Erik seems to have to most brains of the lot, not by much, but he keeps his mouth shut. I could also see PG and co. rifling through James things--they seem to think they own him!

I saw that too.

The one P.G was holding didn't have writing on the back and the one found last night did. I think there is really two placks at each place but only one is the idol at each.

Should be good next week.

That food challenge was nasty. Thought it was cute with Denise and James though. And when everyone was watching James shower, too funny.

This is probably a really stupid question, but - if Jaime, PG & Erik find James' idol, can they "steal" it and claim it's theirs, or are there rules about that so once you find the idol, unless you actually give it to someone, no one is allowed to "take" it from you without your permission?

I really don't know if someone can steal the idol from your stuff. Remember last season somebody (I can't remember who - Alex??) went thru Yao Man's bag and found his idol and then they confronted him about it, but they didn't steal it. Maybe someone else knows the answer?

Interesting about the previews and the "other" immunity idol didn't have any writing on the back - I didn't notice that. But you're probably right. That pagoda thing might have a placque on both sides but only one is the REAL idol. We'll just have to watch and see!

I dont know if the idol would be differnt in each camp (maybe representative of each) but the one they showed in the preview was not the same as the one James has, it had no bats on it, like they commented on when they found the first one. Just something I think I noticed.

The last clue said something about "There are 4 of these in camp, and the one you want is carved the finest." So, I'm thinking there are 2 or 4 of the pagoda post thingies, each with 1 or 2 carvings--the one with the nicest carved bats is the one you want. So, Mkrop, that may be the difference you noted. Or, the carving might be different for the two camps--but isn't one camp dragon, and one tiger, so why bats?

And yeah, the James in the shower thing was funny, but it would have been better if they hadn't edited it. Darn the blur!! DARN THE BLUR!!

ok I missed the reading of the clues, this happens when you try and watch anything with dialogue when you have a 4 year old:happytv:

I hope the preview was them finding the wrong one then

Yeah, see, we put the 4yo to bed at 7:30. We have to, she shares a room with a middle schooler and is up at 6:15. Instead, I have a 10yo who thinks we're all oh-so-fascinated by his color commentary.

Oh, and I don't think you're allowed to steal the II from someone. I think it would have been done, if it were allowed. There have been too many shady people, and remember when Terry had that major winning streak? The tribe was dying to ditch him, but couldn't. I think other people ahve been saved by their possession of the II, even if they didn't actually have to use it.

My husband made a comment last night -- he said "how could you possibly hide that idol? It's too big. It's not like they made it to go in your pocket."

Maybe you aren't allowed to steal it, but once it is openly known that you have it, maybe people think its power is lost. I don't think the power is lost if others know about it, but it certainly changes HOW the power can be used. I wasn't that into this season in the beginning, but I am coming around.

Phantom, any other spoilers?

I thought the same thing about the size. I could not figure out where James was going to hide it. He had his jacket with him though when he returned for the challenge so maybe he had it hidden under there.

Not a lot just yet but only that JR is the next to go. http://truedorktimes.com/survivor_china/spoilers/index.htm There will probably be more spoilers in the next day or two.

It is also being discussed on another spoiler site that Erik has the "wrong" immunity idol. I see that y'all noticed that also. It may be that James ends up with both idols and Erik thinks he has found the third. Too soon to say yet though.

Some speculation from a spoiler site:
"What is a true friend? This is the question some Castaways try to answer in a heated argument about loyalty." That one is pretty easy to answer...Todd and Courtney having it out after her little temper tantrum at TC.

"The fierce hunt for Hidden Immunity Idols continues, as private property is violated and one Castaway falsely believes three Idols are in play." Obviously involves James and ZH, with James' personal property violated. Only Jamie or PG could be stupid enough to think that there are in fact 3 idols.

"Later the tribes merge, and one Castaway torn between two alliances holds a lot of power--literally." This is Frosti, no doubt, he was in tight with ZH and has managed to insinuate himself with FL by virtue of the entire HII discovery debacle. He is sitting pretty for the moment.

"In one of the most surprising Tribal Councils yet, one Castaway feels invincible and makes a shocking revelation." Likely James, as he has at least one of the 2 HIIs.
