they don't open the special stores on the weekdays...at least they never have before. Some SWW branded merchandise like shirts and stuff is sold in the regular stores.

Report from someone that attended the try out (Dress Rehearsal) for breakfast at Sci Fi, I will not name this person as to not get them in trouble but you can be sure that this is a first hand account:
The following walk around the restaurant:
2 Stormtroopers paired up
2 Jawas paired up
Greedo

Characters will be signing autographs.

Darth Vader in front of a backdrop at check in
Boba Fett also in front of a backdrop also at check in

The SW clips were shown
Vader backdrop is the Death Star.

the Yoda melons look great!! There is a puff pastry with a Vader impression on it!

You sit in the cars and eat while the characters do their run through.

Now we have a better idea about that breakfast

Great! How does picture taking work if you stay in your car? Will a cm take the pictures?

In one day, I went from, "Who in the world would book the Star Wars dessert party?" To booked for the Sunday night. Now just eliminating the hotel room the night before we depart. This may be just a one time thing. So Star Wars HERE WE COME!

I'm thinking that you can get up and take your pictures, just that those characters will go to your table/car

Lost it when I got to your J. Ratzenberger comment!

I was telling the family last night that I can't imagine how early you would need to line up for that one. He is so amazing! I would love to see him and we have lots of stuff for him to autograph, but alas, we are having to postpone our trip until next year. I hope it's awesome and he comes back again!!!

I was lucky enough to get a stand-by and see Jim Cummings last year. He was great! The Voices show with John should be really awesome!

Bag check happens way before they start handing out the wristbands so no worries there.
If you want to meet a certain person, (Say Ray Park) you have to get in his line and have a wristband and fastpass. So if you separate, you on Park's line and your DH in Ratzenberger's line you would only be able to meet the person youa actually have a wristband/fp for. Your son, if he wants to meet anyone needs to also get in the appropriate line so he has to be there early as well.
As for JTA o worries because you will be there early for autographs, they give out the wristbands/fp before the park opens, outside the park, then you go make the line to go inside. Stay on the left side of the street and you'll see CM guiding you to the JTA sign up, your saon needs to be with you to sign up.
You can see the celebs and your family member that has their fp/wristband while they meet because the tent they use is open so you can stand outside that area and see them meeting the celeb.
Here's a video someone took (a parent I assume) of their kid meeting Ray Park. So the person taking the video does not have a wristband/fp for Ray but this is how close you can stand to the meet and greet https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNCq3NTglk0

Could anyone tell me what this costume is?

I saw it in the video someone posted earlier. I'm not the star wars fan at all, my husband is. But he wants to dress up for SWW and he doesn't want to be a Stormtrooper since he can't wear the helmet with it. So if it's a character he might be interested in it looks relatively easy to make.

Star Killer, he's an extended universe character.

Yeah, I don't think we're going for Ratzenberger...I feel so old, the last time we were at DHS early was the first year Billy Dee came (can't remember when that was exactly) but we arrived around 3:30am and still got standby, thank God he signed super fast and managed to see us.
We might go for Jar Jar, we have a couple of things for him to sign. Other than that maybe just the last weekend just because we love them all, especially Dee Bradley Baker

Obviously I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan! I never knew that John Ratzenberger was in any of the Star Wars movies.

Hell I AM A HUGE SW fan, and I didn't know... I had to look him up because I was trying to figure out who this guy was... I mean I really didn't put the two together cause I didn't know he was in SW. I felt really flipin stupid when I saw his face on IMDB and realized who it is...

I am also really excitted about Ray Parks being on my weekend as well... I think I am going to try a stratagy here and get in line for Ray parks on Friday and watch how the line works for John Ratzenberger to see where the cut off is, how many sessions he's doing excetra... cause if it really does take an all nighter line for him not sure I can do it... I am good with getting up really early, cause we did that last year for Ray, but... we'll have to see how it works out.

Looks like they may have lifted the ban on EU marching, though the number per day cap will still be in place. I have not seen any Starkiller costumes submitted though.

Did they lift the ban on Mara Jade, some how I doubt it... but if they did... very sad face because I slowed down my pace on getting her done cause I knew I couldn't march with her. (I am not a full memeber so I haven't seen the boards yet on that list)

Please, if you do that, let us know how Ratzenberger line is...I just can't pull off an all-night but might be able to get there around 4am...I'm pretty sure 4am won't be early enough, but who knows? right?

We are staying at the Boardwalk Inn so walking over really early in the morning isn't a problem for us, we did this last year for Parks and Warwick.

I will be sure to keep you posted on the John Ratzenberger line while I am in like for Parks on Friday Morning... I'll also let you folks know if we take the plunge in the weeeeee hours Saturday for John Ratzenberger...

2 things.... 1st... Count me in as a big Star Wars fan who never realized John Ratzenberger was in Empire Strikes Back. I'm going to have to watch it again to find him.


2nd... When I did Star Wars Weekend in 2006 I had my picture taken with this Ewok, but I don't know if he has a specific name. Kenny the Pirate only has 2 Ewok's listed on his site and this isn't one of them.

Any one know??

Since we are just about 3 weeks away from the 1st SWW, maybe everyone could start sharing their prior SWW pictures The Park, The Characters,etc. OR Maybe we could start a new thread for these pics and then once the first SWW rolls around, it will give the people attending a place to post!

I'm a big star wars fan and whilst having pictures taken with the characters will be fun I just do not get the American obsession with celebrities and autographs.

I dont think there is anybody in the world that I would queue up for hours to meet briefly and get their autograph. Certainly not a minor celeb like Ray Park, the guy who played Jar Jar Binks or Cliff from Cheers.

Not sure. I have not seen anyone submit pics of a Mara Jade yet, so, as far as I know, even without a ban on it (which I believe was handled with the EU lift), someone would still have to submit the costume to be approved to march, and then they would get to select days to march. There may be a Rebel LEgion version floating around, but I do not have access to those forums to check.

They always said that EU would be waitlisted, so that if they were cleared to go, then the costumes would have been in and approved. I would have recommended maintaining that course to get the costume done and the 2 troops in. Worst case is that you would be a member before going. Best case is you would have been cleared to march. That was what I was shooting for last year. I figured I would do everything I could and leave the things that were beyond my control to the powers that be.
