Official Star Wars Weekends 2013 Tips and Tricks

I have a 2 1/2 year old and a 6 year old who absolutely LOVES Star Wars. My question is should I plan a day to do non Star Wars things at HS then come on 1 day for the SWW or can we realistically do everything in 1 day at HS with the little ones? TIA

Question about celeb lines. If I arrive at 5:30 and get in line for Warwick, will they give out wristbands immediately? How does that usually work?

Not immediately at 530. Last year, they came down the line closer to 6, as the line for Ray Park was pretty long by then. Even then, the line did not get the fast passes until closer to 7.

I don't think Jeremy has been fully confirmed. I may be wrong, but recent lists of guest from official sources do not have him listed. Things may have changed form his initially being listed.

it hasn't been confirmed by Disney but it's taken from a reliable source

If you can do that it would be better. It's hot and crowded and kids can get tired/irritated. Remember to plan on taking frequent breaks, preferably indoors

It is no longer listed on his website, which was another contributing piece to my report. No worries. Simply, he will either be there or he won't.

No worries. Trying to make sure we have the most accurate and up to date intel on this operation. I know from last year, this thread (version of it) was one of the most helpful things I had at my disposal, along with my own previous experience. That helped me to do a tour plan for my group (two first timers for SWW) to see everything except the parade in one day - all shows, the Ray Park autograph, build a droid, rides, meals, etc.. I had already built in my Carbon Freeze and personal build a droid for the next morning, as I was not sure if the others were going to be up for another full day of DHS.

So, I just want to make sure I am helping everyone out who is coming here for good info.

Totally agree with you. I'm checking the HUB several times a day trying to get info. Like I've said before my family and I have done sww for about 10 years now and they always add/change certain things so you have to stay on top.

Thanks to all thoses who answered my questions (a few pages back - you guys move fast!). Funny thing is, if I had just read on 2 more pages I would have got my answer re EasyWDW.

Was also wondering what sort of products you get with the LE merchandise? When we were at the SWW in 2009 we didn't bother with the tent merchandise (don't think it was Darth's Maul back then), and only went in the Tatooine gift shop. I can guess there would be numerous collector's pins, but as we're not interested in that, just wonderinmg what else there is? Much under $100?

There have been hats, pins, vinylmation, coins, some toys, lanyards, etc.. Almost anything you can think of, it has been there, from the pics I have seen and my own experiences. Price ranges from around $13-$15 for a pin to $Don't Ask, You Can't Afford It. The best suggestion is that for the LE items, get there as early as possible for the first Friday. Since we have gone on the second weekend each time, I have said to myself "that LE thing would be cool, if I can find it" and have not disappointed myself with an unrealistic expectation. Some others may have better answers, though.

I asked a question about the LE stuff a few pages back. Other than coins or pins, what do you think will be hot items this year? I'm trying to decide if I should go that first Friday. I don't want the coins and pins. I would like to buy the poster calendars and my annual tshirts and anything else that might be in demand this year.

It's the first year , to my knowledge, that they offer a sww autograph book, I think that will be popular and the name tags were very popular last year, I don't think they'll sell out

Pretty sure the Salacious Crumb plush is gonna be a hot seller. As well as the Jabba vinylmation, IMHO.

Good guess. I think that might have to be a early on buy.

Have found 2 links a little way back in this thread that have a few items that will be around. One link is from Kenny the pirate and the other is a youtube clip. I don't think I have the energy to hunt through to re quote them (spent the last 2 days ploughing though these 80 pages!) but they are worth finding. I have my little list now of what are my must have buys I wont be delaying buying

Would it be okay to assume that the 2014 dates for SWW will be similar? I'm currently deciding between going around New Years (our original plan) or in May for our honeymoon as my fiance really wants to go to a SWW. If we went in May I could take more time off work so we could work in a Disney Cruise as well, and I saw the TA one that leaves May 19 - so in theory right after the first SWW if the dates are the same as this year. I'd have to book sooner rather than later but it seems like they don't announce the exact dates until the end of this year! Don't want to plan for that weekend and then find out they've moved it all to later in the year...

We will be at SSW May 17-19 with two boys age 3 and 5 who are obsessed with SW. We know we want to see the parade and possibly meet a few characters.

Would you recommend any of the shows (behind the force, stars of the saga, obi-wan and beyond, visit the maul) for this age? Will they be bored?

Also, are they too young for the padawan mind challenge?

The 5 yr old has done jta twice in the past but the 3 yr old (he will be 1 month from age 4) really wants to do it. Will they allow him?

This is our first SWW so any helpful hints for this age are appreciated.

Sorry but I don't believe so, I think they're pretty strict on the ages 4-12 for JTA.

I'll let the experts answer your other questions regarding PMC and the shows.
