Official Star Wars Weekends 2013 Tips and Tricks

YIPPEE!!!! I booked my trip back in September!!! From May 15-22 and had fingers crossed that we'd get the first weekend.... I'm SOOO Happy! My boys (5 and 6) are going to be so surprised! MAJOR Star Wars fans, and I'm keeping it a secret!! MUUUAAAHHHHH!

Seriously considering switching our trip to hit the 1st weekend, my 11 & 4 year old would love it, they're both huge SW fans!

Someone tell me what the weathers like then? Will it be hot & humid? I hate heat & that's one thing that's making me really think about this. We've been end of August & I said never again in the summer, I couldn't take the heat.

I was there this May... it was warm/hot... high 80's low 90's.. rain late every afternoon. One afternoon/night a big thunderstorm. One day it drizzled rained all day. I was there May 14-17... if that helps at all.. lol

Hot, humid and possibly rainy. But not as hot and humid as the end of August. Temps are usually in the mid-80's as opposed to the 90's of August.

Any good ideas on where to get a padme costume? Or someone who makes them?

Are the parades and the Hyperspace Hoopla show always the same each day? We've booked a trip for that first 2013 SWW but all we really care about is taking pictures with the characters, the parade, and the Hyperspace Hoopla. If the parade and HH is the same all weekend, I can just go to DHS for that one day and avoid the crowds the rest of the weekend.

The parades - same except for the celebrities, some will be there each weekend (Ashley Eckstein and James Arnold Taylor). Other celebrities will just be there certain weekends. But the rest of the parade is the same each day of SWW.

Hoopla is the same show. You'll notice slight variations from show to show, but for the most part it's the same. For example, the first time we saw it last year the villians won, another show the good guys won. My son is a stickler for detail and he'd notice if a character danced differently.

Have you checked out ebay and amazon. You can usually find something there though they are not always the best quality.

I was so excited when the SWW came out. We are booked to go May 26- June 1st and are so excited (especially my 10 year old son). I am also happy to see James Arnold Taylor come back. He was so nice when we met him in 2011.:)

I am trying to decide whether to go to SWW. I think it would be cool as DH and I are fans but my DD's are too young. I would not be doing character autographs unless there are SW Mickey, Goofy, etc.

I am most interested in the parade and the dance party (at 8pm?). Is there an itinerary out there so I can see what there is to offer and whether it is worth the crowds? I would be going on the last day.

I also want to see Fantasmic, would I ne needing the guaranteed seating package or how early to arrive for seats?

This is our first time going to Star Wars Weekends. I can't remember if I saw it here or not, but is there a run down of the things that happen for SWW that don't normally happen at DS?

Many SW character M&G opportunities, a few celebrity M&G opportunities, several behind-the-scenes type shows, a parade, and merch.

Which padme costume are you looking for? The white midrift shirt/pants?

I am really wanting the one where she is preggo, the white leggings, boots, and brown dress/shirt. I think its called the Mustafar costume.

I am prob going May 11-21, but I will change depending on celebrities, but I am assuming no BIG celebs ever make it.....
When do the celebs usually get announced?

Rolled the dice and planned dead on. We will be there on the 13-18 May.

And the wife bought our daughter the cutest Star Wars dress in the world. Custom made with all the ships on it (original trilogy only).

Should be very interesting with this being the first OFFICIAL DISNEY SWW!!!!!

I'm so excited, I think I just peed.

The dress sounds perfect! Congrats on picking dates.

That would be a great costume! You could ask the Rebel Legion or 501st for costuming ideas. I know alot of members make their own, but they also have a list of recommended vendors and ones to stay away from.

The celebs will be announced as they accept their invitations.

Rebel Alliance/Rogue Squadron. They would be the ones to ask. The 501st just knows white plastic and blasters. I'm sure they know nothing about installing toilets. . .which makes the destruction of the Second Death Star so much more meaningful.

Peter Mayhew is a frequent guest, as is Warwick Davis. But with Disney now owning Lucasfilm, it could be quite HUGE this year.

My oldest son and I were talking about who we'd like to see. We got on the subject of Peter Mayhew. He didn't remember ever seeing him at SWW. He held his ground that he was never there until I pulled out pictures from past years and showed him right there in our pictures, lol.

Warwick Davis would be great! We met he and his family at one of the SWW that he hosted.

I'd like to see Jake Lloyd because I have a great picture of he and my youngest son from Celebration VI that I'd love to get signed. We have always enjoyed autograph sessions with him. He has such a quirky sense of humor. There were tears in my eyes from laughing at CVI as his comments were hysterical and would have flown right over my head if I didn't have such a good grasp of brain terminology. Our 18 year old had to ask us for clarification about his comments and they just sailed right overhead of my 8 year old.

I would love to see Natalie Portman and Harrison Ford. But I won't hold my breath.

just made our ADR's can't believe that I am making ADR's for January and June the same day.:cool1:
