***Official*** Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge Information Thread *** Contains SPOILERS ***

I saw the article on here about Disneyland doing a virtual queue AFTER June 23rd.

That gives me hope that DHS will have a virtual queue system (at least for a while). ANYTHING that will let me experience the land without having to either: (with small children)

1) Be up before dawn to get there at 6:00 AM
2) Wait in a long line (presumably near Grand Avenue) just to get into the land itself.

I am with going there .. getting assigned a comeback time and coming back hours later. (Heck I would be happy if they gave me a comeback time of a day or two later)

Heck . Id be happy with a reservation system -- disney .. just tell me when I can visit SWGE during my visit -- I dont care .. I just dont want to have to wait to simply GET IN.

-- but I under the technical logistrics for that at WDW would be a nightmare.

I agree they need something, but question/issue will be how they implement the virtual queue. Will you need to get there at 6am to get in the queue to get a virtual queue spot?

Worried if it is like a long ago TSMM issue where you had the running of the bulls to get tot he FP machine as they were all gone after 30 mins - will you have the same thing for all the virtual queue spots?

I wouldnt think so. The capacity of a LAND should be much larger than a ride. I would also gather that may not do a virtual queue due to the EXTRA EXTRA Magic Hours -- that may be their pre-emptive way of spreading out the crowds in lieu of a complex queing system.

The good news is we have months to see how Disneylands system works and how crowded it is.

i guess it all depends how crowded it will be. You will have very unhappy guests who come to specifically see this land. If word gets out (and it will) that it is soo crowded that you cant get in or have to wait hours simply to walk in and see the shops, that will deter a lot of people from booking vacations.

I have to admit if I lived in California, I'd be standing at the entrance to Galaxy Edge chanting "OPEN, OPEN"
I was at Disneyland last week, I walked up to the cast members guarding the path into SWGE, waved my hand and said "You want to open this path, you want to let me in". Their response was "Excuse me sir?" Yeah, neither of them had ever seen Star Wars and were about the call security on me.

Nice try, though. :smooth:

Snack, restoom access, and more available to guests in line for Smuggler's ru ln
Excellent news! Honestly, my 3-hour wait for Gringott's felt like it went MUCH faster thanks to food carts, restroom access, and so much to take in. I was hoping Disney took note of how well Uni has been handling long waits and instituted similar conveniences.

I'll be visiting Disneyland in July (13-17). I'll have my 5, 3 and 0 year olds with me, so I don't plan on riding the Falcon or waiting in line for the lightsaber, but I'd still like to walk through the land and just see everything.

What is the queue going to be like? Can I get to the park an hour before open and leave the family at hotel, swipe my park ticket, get in virtual queue, then head back to hotel?

Or will you lose your place once you leave the esplanade?

From what I understand the virtual queue starts when the park is full, you can't get in the queue before that to reserve a later spot.

When the land is full not the park but yes they won’t use it until it’s filled.

If just you is going to go into the land to walk around, yes you can do that. If everyone wants to go in and walk around, everyone must enter the park with their tickets before you can add them to your "boarding party" to enter the land. Leaving the park won't impact your spot in line. The app will send you a notification when you can enter the land.
