Official September 2012 planning thread! List on page 30!

Anyone going in September? We are going September 9-14. Last time we went to Disney, the hurricane came to Louisiana and the vet's office where I boarded my pets flooded. They had to be moved to higher ground and were in the heat. Heaven forbid my pets get hot! :rolleyes1 Hopefully none of us get one during this trip.

We are staying at Fort Wilderness Cabins. I just found out an old high school classmate of mine, CLASS '82, has worked at Disney for 28 years. I can't wait to see him as he is expecting us!

We will be celebrating my son's 24th birthday during the trip and also have one going that has never been. Isn't she in for a big surprise? Gotta love me some Mickey Mouse!

Awww, the day you check in, is the day we check out :sad1: (staying at BLT). How exciting is it to know that a classmate of yours has been working at Disney for such a long time :goodvibes. Have a wonderful and Magical trip .

Class of '82? Me too! 30 years...hard to believe. I did choose to forego the Seattle reunion for my WDW trip. The Mouse won out!

ShhhQ - Great pic. I am so glad you are counting down the days for us!

Basketkat - Congrats! :cloud9: So happy for your family!

i see you are from austin. i assume you are flying. we are driving :woohoo: airfare for 4 peeps is just too much when i can drive for $300 in gas.

i sooooooo hear mickey calling my name......i am so excited! i think adults have way more fun than the kids do............

my hubby thinks it is funny that everytime i go to the grocery store and use my debit card, i ask for $3-$4 back in cashback. it goes in the disney piggy bank. i have saved $55 in the last 3 weeks..... almost kind of scary knowing i go to the store waaaaaaaaaay to much....between the bills and the change i pick up everywhere, i am going to have me a nice little stash.

i am doing the class reunion thing.....we are inviting anyone that ever went to school with us. it will be interesting. i found my best friend from 6th grade thru facebook a few months ago. one day she was at school and the next day, she wasn't. i cried for a week. now, i will see her again for the first time in about 35 or so years. interesting, she lives in odessa, tx, is a RN, still has red hair and rides a harley. life is good for her! can't wait.....my long lost friend in june and my mickey mouse in september.

102 days to go!

I don't know why but I'm so excited. Just checked my paypal balance. I'm trying to save around 500.00 threw misc things. I have 296.00 in my paypal account already. :) We are taking a 1000.00 with us. I'm hoping to have 500.00 in there by the time we leave and it should be easy enough to do. Dh don't know if he is getting a paid vacation or not. He started a new job last week.

Normally we just take all the funds from our last checks before we leave. Which works out. But it will be nice to have some money saved instead this year. I should also have around 150.00 in my ing accout. I may up the amount in my ing account this week as well.

I'm hoping to book bounceback again this year so there is 200.00 of the 1000.00 gone.

I am so excited for you. I love it when peeps get excited about Disney. We are eating at Fort Wilderness on Monday evening, San Angel Inn on Tuesday evening, LeCellier Steakhouse on Wednesday for lunch (this is my son's birthday so watch out steak!) party:, and Raglan's Irish Pub in Downtown Disney on Thursday evening. My DH is not a Disney fan too much so I had to plan around him. I can leave him at the Fort Wilderness Cabin with a golf cart and he will be happy just to sit there and listen to the sounds of nature. :cool1:

My son's gf is coming with us and is 19 and never been to Disney. She is so excited....she will never want to leave.

we are in MK on the 12th but just for BBB then we are doing Pirates and Pals Cruise at night

We are actually doing AK and HS on Monday, Epcot/MK on Tuesday, Epcot on Wednesday and MK on Thursday. We start out strong at the beginning but slow down as the week goes by. Who knows, by the time September comes, it may be totally different. :confused3

Yep. We fly. I am really frugal, but we can't rationalize almost 4 extra driving days plus 2 hotel nights and gas for our small group. All of us would miss extra work and college classes. I always find roundtrip flights for less than $200 per person out of Austin. If we were just 1 day away, I would probably opt for two or more visits a year and drive. Hmmm  Got an extra room?

Thanks for the info ShhhQ!

Congrats on the new baby Kat!!!!:earsboy:
Ditto to ShhhQ and Congatulations Kat and family.

One quick question, has anyone been able to get reservations to the Garden View Tea Room for September? I have been trying online for three weeks now and now luck. Are these reservations as difficult as Ohana and CRT?:confused3

Finally made it to double digits....

Congrats on the new little addition Kat :goodvibes

As for the Tea Room, I was able to make mine way back on my 180+10 but I had to call in order to do it. When I tried to do it online, it was showing no availability, I even tried during my whole stay. When I gave Disney Dining a call, I was able to get it for the day and the time that I wanted. Try calling...normally it isn't that difficult to get, depending on what time of day you want to go, however it is a really small area with not a lot of tables so I can see it filling up fast. Good luck.

It is the Garden View Tea Room in the GF resort. It is a afternoon tea that goes from 2pm - 6pm daily. It is located in the room that overlooks the grounds/pool. My girls and I love it and we have made a tradition to have a light lunch here while DH finds something else to do (he is not invited :goodvibes). I highly recommend this for a mommy/girls afternoon away.

As for my family....first off we like to make early morning ADRs to the breakfasts in the parks, not because we are worried about the crowds but because we love walking into a not so crowded park and take lots of pictures along the way. This will also let us head to the more popular attractions easier after breakfast. Next for the popular attractions, we always get a FP first then get into the stand-by line...this will insure you to ride your favorite/most popular attractions (i.e. TSM, Peter Pan, etc...) twice if not more ;). Also, you and your family have picked an awesome time of year to go, September is great because the kids are back to school and the crowds are way down (this will help you out a LOT in getting all the things in that you want to do)...I am realizing that I am starting to sound like I work for Disney in the brochure dept :rotfl:. Except for the more popular rides like TSM and Soarin, you will find that you will be walking onto a lot of rides :cool1: (you could see wait times anywhere from 10-20 minutes). September is our favorite time of year to go (next to Christmas time of course :goodvibes). I hope this helps a bit...just remember don't kill yourself trying to get everything in during this one trip. Try to stop and smell the roses, Disney has so many little nooks and crannies that have wonderful finds in each. Have a great time :goodvibes.

When I made my ADR's I did not think of getting in early, so its too late for that. Its hard to balance what we want to do on this trip with down time for swimming and relaxing.

My ADRs are
Cape May Dinner
CP Lunch
Mickey Back Yard BBQ
1900 PF Dinner
1900 PF Breakfast
Mama Melrose
CRT Lunch
Rain Forest DTD
