Okay, I have been googling and reading Tikiman's updates and my head hurts. Someone please help me. We are scheduled for Poly May 9th. It will be our first stay there, we usually stay at POR. We have a (will be by then) 5 month old, 4 year old and a 7 year old. We wanted to be on the monorail this time because of the baby and my son is newly diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes and wanted to be able to get back to the resort quackish if needed for rest (which I don't think will be necessary, but I am in a newborn/newly diagnosed haze!! ). So, that said the construction posts are stressing me out. We aren't huge pool people while at Disney, though I am sure we will swim one time. Should I jump ship? If we decide to stay - which longhouse should I request (standard view stay)? Thanks so much for your help. I have read through this thread and you guys are most helpful!!! Oh, and do you guys call the main line to request or the resort directly? I have heard mixed answers on that. Thanks

For the rooms surrounding the quiet pool area - will these rooms with views of the pool be closed during construction? If so, how will that affect the resort's capacity and the ability to book a room?

Yes, usually the end of July, watch these boards for the date. I believe you can make a RO reservation now and add DDP and tickets later.

1-There definitely will be construction. If you want to stay away from East Pool I would request Aotearoa, Fiji, or Tuvalo.

2- If you were to bail, you may want to look at contemporary for ease of walking to and from MK

Trader Sams is scheduled to open in a few days. Mar 26th.

All construction is suppose to be completed well before April 2016

I am reading mixed reports for August 2015. I have seen pics but I can't tell when they were taken. We have always wanted to stay at Poly. We eat at ohana every trip and I usually loved walking around lobby. While at ohana in December I was glad we didn't splurge based on the look of the lobby. Is the lobby completed? Feature pool is supposed to complete by August, correct? I can handle some construction but I want the main areas to be completed. Disney's website says just east pool will be under construction.

Trader Sam's and main pool should be completed by the 1st of April. Main lobby is basically done now and the water features at the entrance should be done in the next couple of months I would imagine (not sure on that though). East pool will start construction middle of April, but most other stuff *should* be done?

During my January stay, I was originally in Raratonga and found it to be exceptionally noisy. (There were construction crews directly below my balcony which was NOT magical!) I quickly switched to Aotearoa and had a wonderfully quiet, very well-placed room that had a fantastic view of the monorail gliding by. I liked it enough that I'm staying at Poly again in June, despite the construction!

Getting excited now! 109 days til poly!! Raratonga is our favorite bldg to request but afraid of construction of the east pool Any suggestions of a bldg request? We like to be close to main bldg and not too far away from TTC.
