*~* Official POFQ September 2012 Roll Call - List in Post 1 - Join Us! *~*

So who has their transportation set? Are you driving or flying?

We are flying. After watching the tickets go up, up, up, I finally broke down and bought them on Thursday.

How about you? :yay:

We were able to use AK airlines mileage to book both our tickets for the big part of our trip. We fly into Atlanta, and are renting a car and heading to the NASCAR Race in Bristol. After the race we had to pay for a one way between Asheville, NC and MCO. We fly back to Alaska from MCO on air miles. We spent a total of 200 for airfare.

Bristol huh? Well hello fellow NASCAR fan  Who's your driver? pirate:

That's fantastic you were able to fly mostly on air miles, especially coming from AK. What would the price normally have been, just out of curiosity?

YES!! if the weather would go back to warm and nice I'd be fine..but cold, windy and damp and i feel all stir crazy and time is going slooowwww

Yep, here too. We had weather in the 80's and low 90's and then BAM, right back to the 50's and 60's. :sad2: I was hoping we could just go right into Summer. At least then, the trip would feel closer, KWIM?

I went ahead and booked my airfare yesterday...$146 each way on southwest from Baltimore. I did comparisions during the months prior to Sept and they all looked to be the same price except for June was a little more. I think I was worried the price would go up because of gas prices.

Besides, I was just sitting here twiddling my thumbs waiting for September :rotfl:

Now what am I going to do :confused3

Is anyone else feeling like they've done everything and now they're just sitting on their thumb waiting for September? :rolleyes1
Yes!!! :lmao: I bought my new guidebooks, I like Passporter and Unofficial, so the reading is helping pass the time.
I just commented on another thread that this is a reason I miss the 90 day window vs 180. At least at 90 days out I felt so close to my trip...this time it was rush, rush, rush to plan my ADRs, then....nothing! lol

You two can come and visit me in New Orleans :cool1: It is officially summer down here with record highs all week. It's has been 80-85, with 80% + humidity!

Just wanted to give yall a heads up. The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that TT will be closed April 15th or 16th and stay closed until mid to late September.

This won't change our dates, but if it is closed during our trip, I will have some disappointed boys! This was Kurt jr's favorite ride last trip, and Aiden was so upset because he wasn't tall enough. I really hope it's ready by then!!!

:lmao: Join the club - I think we're all feeling that way right about now. Have you and DP got all your plans figured out?

I have been looking into buying Unofficial for my Kindle - I've heard it is a pretty hefty-sized book, and at least on the Kindle I could take it with me without it putting my luggage over the limit  Which one do you think is better?

I've actually been talking with DH about a trip to New Orleans. We have family who lives in Shreveport, and they've been begging us to come down for Mardi Gras. I'll take your temps, but not the humidity - UGH! :scared:

I was so hoping the refurb would just keep being put off - this is DH's fav ride in EPCOT, basically the one thing he likes there. We haven't been since Soarin' came to be, however, so he may change his mind. Keeping our fingers crossed it will be open for us AND for your boys! :goodvibes

Years ago I picked a sophomore driver named Jimmy Johnson for our work NASCAR pool, that turned out well for me:rotfl: I also like Joey Logano, but I have been kind of disappointed in his finishes. He is still young, but needs to step it up. I think there are some good up and comers, the Dillon boys are going to be good.

Without the air miles we were looking at around $800 round trip per ticket. It is pretty expensive to fly out of here. We use our AK airlines miles Visa to pay for everything, then pay it off, that adds up the miles pretty quickly.

 This is funny, because several years ago I too picked a sophomore driver ... Tony Stewart. :) Has worked out quite good for me in the end as well. ;)

$800 per ticket :scared: Yikes :scared1: Okay, I'm gonna quit complaining about the $600 we plunked down for both of us NS/RT this year. :upsidedow

We're going!! August 28-September 3. Wish it wasn't 5 months away. We got free dining, and had pretty good luck getting our dining reservations.

Wanted to add on that we reserved Hoop de doo review, 50's prime time cafe, Crystal Palace, Ohana and 1900 Park Faire. All new restaurants to us!

Sounds like you got great ADRs. Have you made your travel arrangements yet?

I'll add you to the list.

Those are all excellent choices! We try not to miss 50's Prime Time or Crystal Palace! This will be our second visit to Ohana's but just for breakfast, we have never done dinner there, but want to. 1900 Park is my list, but with boys it is hard to make that call!

Hoop Dee Doo is a tradition. I had been to WDW twice (12 and 16), then I was on the College Program, and I had never been to Hoop. So when DH and I went on our Disneymoon(his very first trip), I made a point to book it. We loved it so much that we never miss it now! My oldest DS even got chosen to participate last time!

We'll be there 9/1-9/5. Wish it was for longer but the kids will already miss 2 days of school!

We also have free dining but upgraded to deluxe! We decided we'd ONLY eat at places we haven't been to before so we have the following reservations:

Yak & Yeti (L)
Jiko (D)
Chefs de France (L)
Cape May Clam Bake (D)
Donald Duck Tusker House (B)
Kona Cafe (L)
Hoop De Doo Review (D)
Tutto Italia (L)
50s Prime Time Cafe (D)
Raglan Road (L)

Super excited!

Yes, we are flying JetBlue... the rates were HIGH! but I was afraid to wait any longer with gas prices going sky high.

I'm very excited about this trip and our ADR should be fun. Our last trip to DW was in 2006, so it's been a while. We stayed at CBR last time, and wanted to try a new resort and all new dining. With a super picky 12 year old, the dining is a challenge, but I think that she will eat something everywhere we planned. :) The only compromise we had to make was the choose a different day for 'Ohana.

Thanks for the welcome! I look forward to the conversation!
