***Official Planning Thread -DECEMBER 2024 - Welcome all!***

While I’m sorry you are feeling the nerves, I feel validated that I’m not the only one who gets soooo anxious right before!

I've been a nutcase all week. The day of I'll take an Ativan that my doc prescribed me just for travel to help me relax. 😂
Right now I feel I could be the leader of the Anxious Travellers Club! It’s almost laughable for me. Usually I am the plan it all, lead the way, take no prisoners because we are off to have the best time kind of gal but this trip has me so anxious. I really wonder if all my bravado was tied to making sure everyone else had the best time and now that it’s only me, my brain is glitching. Too late for me to hit up a dr for some Ativan though 😂 so I’ll have to remember that trick for next time 👍🏼

What would yall do?!

We have hoppers and we don’t start any of our days at Epcot. Which means - we cannot enter the VQ for guardians (we have military salute tickets so we need park reservations)

On Monday Dec 9 - Epcot deluxe hours were at HS and I was going to do to Epcot after fantasmic to ride it, but learned there is a 6pm VQ (we obviously won’t be inside the park).

On Dec 10 and 12, we start at MK and hop to Epcot later in the day. On the 10th we have 4pm CRT reservations so probably will hop over after we eat. On the 12th we have 5pm Biergarten reservations so will hop over around 4pm.

Ideally I’d like to not pay $18 plus tax for 7 people for a single LL, because I have a feeling my kids would want to ride it more than once so I’d need to pay that for the 10th and 12th. I’ll do it if there is no other option to get into the VQ.

What would my options be? I also plan to ask what my options would be at guest services when we activate our salute tickets. We also have DAS for 2 in our party, so if we got the VQ, we would need to convert that into the DAS.
I believe there’s a 1pm VQ as well on most days. I’ve seen vlogs where they showed up hours late and were permitted to ride by asking nicely. No guarantees of course

I always have pre trip anxiety, but Disney trips are the worst. As much as I love all the planning of the details and anticipation, when the trip is approaching it’s worse for my anxiety. I think it’s because if something unforeseen comes up you can’t just “move” your Disney trip like you can other vacations (even if you have travel insurance, like we always do!) There are so many reservations and fine details that you took time to map out. That’s what always gets me!

I’m here at BCV - first time in a studio and I’m already missing my 1 bedroom amenities of full kitchen and laundry - oh well - decorations are great but I’m wondering - is the carousel smaller this year? Seems like it is…
My AP is still in blackout mode so tomorrow my plans are a nice brunch (steak and eggs) at Grand Floridian Cafe and then onto Disney Springs…

We are planning to update our 8 day PH to an AP… what do you mean it’s in blackout mode?! Do you already have your 5 days selected? How does the first couple of weeks look for availability? Sorry so many questions! Just kind of curious! Thanks Cindy advance!

Why would you have a blackout on an AP especially if your also staying a Disney resort.?

Sorcerer pass (that’s the one I have) has blackout dates where you can’t enter the parks - this year the blackout dates are Nov 27-30 (Thanksgiving) and Dec 19-31 (Christmas and New Years)…nothing to do with park reservations…

You don’t have to be in the park to join the 7am one right?
I have military tickets so I have park reservations for a park other than Epcot so it will not let me join a VQ for Epcot in the morning. At least that’s how it worked in May. I’ll ask guest services when we arrive.

But you have hoppers…so go to Epcot by 1pm?

We’re doing that on our first day. Rope-dropping Animal Kingdom, then hopping to Epcot around noon.
We have dinner reservations at our first park on all the days, the only day we could hop before 1 would be Dec 12

I think your only option then is to purchase it individually if you will never be in park before 1 pm VQ drop.
I think the 6pm VQ I don’t need to be inside the park, I’m going to get confirmation on that. If so that would be great to have the kids test it out before we buy it. But I will for sure buy it if they love it!

If you see Nick at the front desk tell him hi! He is awesome!!!

We are going to EPCOT on 12/13 and I was looking at the planned shows. During Christmas season, they have had a good show at the Canada Mill Stage. No times were shown for that day or any other. They were scheduled a while ago but must have dropped off. Does anyone know if that has been canceled or maybe just not updated online?
