Official October Code Watch

I was just making reservations (just got off the phone) - the cast member inquired as to whether I was buying a package. I responded that I would like the dining, but not the ticket (I already have PAP and have frequently bought DDP at DVC). He commented that I could buy a one day ticket - that I could elect not to use. He said it would not expire, as the expiration countdown only starts with "first use" of the pass. Then, the next time I purchase another Disney ticket - such as another AP - I could apply the single-day ticket value ($74-ish) to the AP. In other words, I wouldn't have to effectively throw away the one-day ticket just because I don't have a use for it this year.

I can't verify this from practical experience, but I can pass it along for anyone who might find it useful enough to ask their cast member in reservations.

This is true. I did this last year before AP rates came out and then when they came out...I dropped the DV ressie.

can you still get one of these discounts even if you are paid in full? will we have to pay higher prices on tix or dinning? just wondering. i could use any discount for our trip LOL (more to do money)

I don't know if you can do that anymore. Buy the one day ticket, and use it toward a different vacation. I was reading somewhere that now the ticket expires (even if you don't start to use it) after a certain number of days unless you get the non expiring option. We used to do the same thing, that's why I was upset about hearing that. Let me check and see if I can find something on it.

Bummer bummer bummer... as everyone else has reported, nothing today.

On a side note, a friend of mine has a Disney VISA and had a ressie from a TA for 5 nights at Poly for Nov. Lagoon view.. WAY expensive. Long story short, I called last night and rebooked for her with that Visa code and got a garden view and a one day ticket for literally $1000 LESS than her original reservation. That is significant savings!

I would be thrilled with just some affordable.

Back to waiting..

No AP discount for October this morning. I would think that they would be tired of hearing from us each morning and release the code just so we would stop calling. ;)

Disneybelle said she just booked a room with an AP rate, anyone else getting any luck??

Someone called THIS morning and got an AP rate???
Should we all try again????

Kris, hands on the phone

Disneybelle,
Did you already have the AP code? I just hung up with disney and they said the AP rate was still only up to Sept. 29.
Thanks.

It would seem that one slipped through.

When ap rates were released till the end of Sept a friend of mine here in town received hers on Sunday evening and they were not out officially until I believe Wed morning.

I'm on hold with the AP "hotline" number...
Let's see what happens.
Thanks Disneybelle!

Kris, waiting patiently...OK not so patiently.:hourglass

Just got the rates this morning. I don't know why I got so lucky, but I was also able to book an AP room for another passholder family member who'll be travelling with us. Maybe they're still uploading other resorts.
