Official October Code Watch

No codes for us either - my TA and I have been playing e-mail tag all morning.

We are headed down Oct 6 - 13 and currently booked at Pop. The best they could do for us was a transfer to ASMusic and it was going to be a standard room. Since we have three children that normally have to be carried in sleeping from the bus each night - we opted to stay at Pop with the preferred room. Some of the standard rooms at ASMusic can be quite a hike from the bus.

She said they were averaging about 20% of their Visa holders that were eligible for the code getting actually moved to a promotion. ASMusic was the only value she found, no moderates or deluxes at all that fit for us (we have 3 rooms). I can't believe last year I called 2 weeks after the code hit and was able to move 3 rooms over with no problem. This STINKS!!!

anyone get the discount for all star Movies yet? My reservation numbers at home, gotta wait till after work...sure hope I get some money back!

Don't wait to get home before you call. They can look up the reservation by using your phone number. Believe me, I've had to do that before. :thumbsup2

You have to pay for the package using a Disney visa. So you need to have the card first.

Well I went for it and applied for a Disney Visa, it saved me $378 off of regular price!!! ($228.60 more than my AAA rate)

And...I get $40 back from Visa after my first charge.

I guess you can't beat that.

I'm just hoping my refund for my first ressie comes through okay.

How did you get your account number so quickly? I applied over a week ago, have been told we were approved and that a letter would be in the mail. I called Chase and they will not give me the account number over the phone!

Okay..........I am so hoping someone can help me with this. We have booked our vacation for 10/5-10/16, I have paid in full thru AAA, if I apply for a Disney Visa (which I was going to do, but hubby talked me out of it), is there a way to pay for our vaca with the Disney Visa and get my original form of payment refunded to see if I can get a discount???

:confused3 Any help with this would be greatly appreciated!! :goodvibes

I called my TA and she got right on it and used the code for MYW plus dining. It did apply to my already existing ressie and I saved $1,053.00 for my family's GV room and another 1,053.00 for my parents with my Disney Visa. :woohoo:

My TA said she got Confirmation #'s, but I will feel more at ease when I have it in writing.popcorn::

Good luck everyone!!

Yes, my experience is that you can do this. But I can't promise you it will work for you as it depends on the CM's sometimes. First, I would get my Disney Visa vacation booked first before I cancelled the original ressie and I would check availablity with the code for your current ressie if you want the same resort (get the CM's name in case when you call back they say not available).

You can apply for Disney Visa through disneyworld.com. There is a link at the bottom of the Walt Disney World home page. You log in with your registered WDW info, or you have to register with WDW if not previously registered.

Once you do this you will fill out the application informaton for the Visa card. Once I completed all the steps, it let me know I was approved immediately and gave me a confirmation number that also has a link that says Click here to return to Disney. You return to Disney and make your reservation online - the Visa card information will pop up in red during the reservation confirmation if done correctly as you are logged in already and it recognizes that you are a Disney Reward Card holder. You pay your $200.00 deposit.

Then you call WDW and tell them you wanted to take advantage of the reward code so you just applied for the Disney reward card, booked and paid deposit online and ask them to apply the code to the new reservation you just booked and that you want to cancel your previous ressie. WDW will refund you "according to the ressie terms". If you are 45 days out from check in you should get 100% refund, otherwise charges might apply.

Visa also has a reward credit of $40.00 after your first purchase.

You cannot apply for the card and book initially by phone as you have to wait until your card comes in the mail to get the number. The reference number that it gives you when approved is not the card number.

Hope this helps

Oh no, no need to feel bad, I am just wondering if my TA was given some incorrect info. I am already booked there as well Oct 15-21. I am going to ask her to check again. I hate to be a pain, but it's my money after all! :goodvibes

The dates might not all be available- that's what I ran into last January. The Beach Club did not have availabilty with the discount price on Sat/Sun so we ended up booking what they had available and moved to the Boardwalk Inn for the last 2 nights at full price. Good Luck! Something might always open up too!

ALSO: I can confirm that the email I got from Disney Visa Rewards states: hurry and book this code before it becomes available to the general pubilc on August 16th.

What tome do codes usually become available? We just started back to school this week(I am a teacher)! I need a general public package code. Right now I only have a room only reservation with AAA discount. Would it be any benefit to make it a package or would that not help?

Hey thanks all! I ahve been watching this board for a very long time! I just called in and was able to save over $750!! I had to switch from Pop to ASMu which I didn't really want to do but for $750 it seemed worth it. She did tell me that POR was available with the discount as well for $500 more, which was still $250 less than my original reservation!

Wow, sounds like a great deal! I hear that ASMu is very beautiful and relaxing!

I wonder why when using the same code, one value is $500 more than another? I would guess maybe only preferred view was available at Pop, but that wouldnt be $500 more???

I feel your pain!
Usually they come out right in the morning at 7 am EST but sometimes later in the day. Sometimes they "leak" out the night before.

The CM told me the only Value resort you could apply it to was ASMu. She actually said at first that is wasn't good at any values and then changed and said ASMu would work.

I convinced the DDs to move to ASMu after a little bribe. :goodvibes We saved $280 using the Disney Visa discount over our AAA discounted room and convention discounted tickets. Plus we were able to add the DDP. :woohoo:
