We are planning an off-site stay Oct 31st - Nov 7th. Planning on attending MNSSHP on Nov 1. Any ideas for what to do on Halloween? Not sure of what flight we are taking on the 31st so I hate to book the party that night.

Put us down for:

September 30-October 4; Port Orleans Riverside; lacy1101

We usually go mid-November (adults only trip with another couple, this makes Trip #5), but wanted to get in on Food & Wine this year and had a free dining bounceback offer!

If you have little ones who can hang in for the whole thing, then try to watch the second parade instead of the first. It's much easier to get a good location for it. Plus, you can enjoy rides or treat trails while everyone else is watching the first parade :) You can get in at 4:00 with your party ticket, so take advantage of the extra time if you can! Also, we do the character dance parties at the very end of the night. Many people have gone home by then so we have a lot more one on one time with the characters. This is also a great time to hit the treat trails one more time. They give bigger handfuls of candy (and you will get a ton that night)! Have fun. We love MNSSHP!!!!!

Thanks for the tips!!! My kids will be 6, almost 4 and 18m when we go. My 6 year old is so excited! I haven't told them anything about the Halloween part yet! I was wondering do you think booking a dinner at 4:30-5 is a bad idea? I was thinking Cinderella's Royal table but on the fence...should we just get a quick service meal and eat as we walk around??

Anyone know if they will do free dinning? I am really hoping we can get free dinning this time. Usually we got the first week of September but my oldest is in school now so I couldn't take her out that first week

A few bands for this year's Eat to the Beat concert series have been announced:

October 2-4 – Starship Featuring Mickey Thomas
October 10-11 – 38 Special
October 19-21 – Air Supply

We love doing dinners early before the party officially kicks off. Many of the restaurants do special desserts for that night. We had some really cool cupcakes at Be Our Guest two years ago at dinner on a party night :) I think it's a great idea. This way you get in the park early ahead of the crowds and will have your wristbands on and be ready to party when dinner is over! Also, you can avoid long lines at party time at the turnstiles. Just give yourself plenty of time to get through the gate and make your way down Main Street in time to arrive 10-15 minutes early for dinner.

Booked today at Pop for Oct 21-24. Planning on a day at Epcot, a day at the MK, and a MNSHHP.

We originally were booked from 10/14-10/19 until I saw the line up. DH loves Air Supply so I decided to change our dates so that we can see them, we are now booked 10/15-10/20. DH is very excited to see them play in person, I am just curious as to who is playing before them :goodvibes. And to add to the change, I decided to change our resort too....we were going to stay at Pop Century but then decided to switch to CSR, read so many wonderful things about this resort and it is place where DH would love to stay (the pool looks awesome BTW). You should of heard how happy DH was when I told him about the changes I made today...he is definitely one happy camper .

My husband booked airfare on a whim today! :woohoo: We are heading down Oct. 17th - 20th for MNSSHP on the Sunday and Food and Wine on the Monday. This will be our second party! Love Halloween!!!!

Booked yesterday Oct 9 to 16 at the Contemporary. Haven't stayed there since I was kid in the early 70s. It's the first time my DW will be staying in a Deluxe. Just the two of us this trip. So excited to just kick back at night and watch the fireworks from our balcony!

Found some 'Hakuna Matata' shirts on clearance at Kohl's for DH and DS. $6 each before the 30% off coupon woo hoo :) I need to slow down with the vaca clothes buying though lol, these resale sites are killing me ;)

Omg me too with the resell sites! I have bought so much that DD will probably not be able to wear everything! There's still 7 months to go so who knows what all I'll have by the time the actual trip gets here! Lol

Any additional information or rumors on why the first party isn't until September 15th?

We went to the first party on Labor Day last year - best party we have ever been to - the park was very empty so we had a blast and got a great spot to watch the parade without being crowded in with other people. I am assuming the turnout last year for the early dates wasn't profitable enough for them? We were thinking of trying to repeat the early parties this year and see if they were still so empty :rotfl2:

So now I am trying to figure out what dates we should go - the middle of September or hold off until the end of September to hit up F&W a couple of days...

Booked 10/26-10/30. Currently reserved at AoA but will be on look out for discounts or free dining!

Okay so I have had the worst planning experiences so far. Besides the fact the website was down on my180 days and me having to spend 2 hours on the phone booking and rebooking. My credit card info was stolen and it sucks because I literally just opened it for disney. So the credit card company said it was most like
The employee who took my info for Disney over the phone.
