***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

It's about time. Sheesh.:rotfl:Kidding! Thanks! :goodvibes
I know, huh? LOL :goodvibes

Thank goodness it's Food and WINE! It might be Food and TEQUILA for me too! :thumbsup2 (Food and Rum? Food and Vodka? Just Vodka??? :lmao:).
You, me and the Teliquila bar. Sound good? :rotfl: We're there the same time, right? Now I have to go and look at the calendar.....

***Now that I have looked at the calendar: you arrive on the 23rd. You said you're going to EPCOT that night, right? I promise, your family and mine (you and me with margaritas in hand) at Illuminations that night. I will MAKE my hubby stay (it's our favorite, but we are planning on watching it Friday night, too).

Oh, and on another note: is anyone making/wearing a LGMH? [/whine]I just don't want to be the only one.

I actually plan on stopping by Home Depot and picking up a couple to make a little business-card type thing I can attach to the camera bag. But seriously....will I be the only one doing this?

31 more days to go!!! I've officially started packing. I pulled out my suitcase and all my outfits so now the living room is still strewn in discarded clothes. The thing I was most worried about was shoes...I wanted something to match my outfits but was still comfy and I just can't do flip-flops all day. My final shoe count? 3! Two pairs of sneakers and one pair of heels to wear on arrival day and to our fancy restaurant choices. They're comfy enough that I can still walk in but make me taller and are cute.

Anyway, now I'm worried about the weather. I'm from OK and we've had record breaking 100+ heat all summer. I work at Sonic as well so I spend my days running in and out of a hot building to an even hotter outside where people have the ac in their cars cranked up making standing beside their cars h-e-double hockey sticks. I'm worried that in the 85 degree weather I'll be cold in my shorts. I packed two light weight long sleeve tees just in case. Should I replace all my shorts with capris? I don't want to overload my suitcase with unnecessary clothes, freeze, OR overheat (I'm picky, what can I say). What do I do:confused3

Packing at 31 days? I'm a newbie here...does everyone start that early? I will drive DBF even more nuts!! :rotfl:

I still haven't decided on the dinig plan; if we do it, I think we will be doing QSDP, so I can use all those snack credits at F&W!! I also like the idea of everything being paid for up front. We do have Cal Grill scheduled, but I think for our first trip, I don't want to worry about making it to all these ADRs.

Sounds like a few of you will be at SSR the same time as me! (Oct 7-14). I plan on heading to HD soon to get my LGMH. :)

No packing for me that early. I don't have enough clothes to do that so early. :rotfl: I have put aside a few random non-clothes things, but they aren't in suitcases or anything.

I'll be a SSR 10/11- 10/18. Hope to see you there! Are you planning on requesting a certain section?

I requested Congress Park I think? That's the side for the Downtown Disney view right? I think that's what I requested anyway!

For those looking for a good workout, check out beachbody.com. They are the source of P90X (there's a new one that just came out today). I do Turbo Fire (mostly cardio with some restance training using bands they come with the work out so no extra cost). Then there's Insanity, and for those who want to take it to the next leve Insanity: Asylum. Brazil Butt lift is also another good one. There are many others and all the ones I've mentioned have informercials on the comercial channels.

I'll be packing the suit cases probably the night before. I'll start the carry on bags as soon as October hits.

I've been looking for halloween display ideas and came across some good ones. Originally I was going to build a haunted playground with equipment that moved by itself, but I couldn't find instructions on how to build a reciprocating motor to move a seesaw. So my zombie babies are having a pool party with toddler pool and hose that pours blood!!! I'm going to see if I can also do a ghost projection on a bust but I have to find a projector first.

I booked the Wishes dessert party for Sunday, October 9 as a surprise for DD. However I have just checked the crowd calenders AGAIN, and that is a very bad day to be at MK. So I thought it would be fine to go to AK then go over to MK for our reservations.

Then I thought about it, and we have base tickets ( We don't hop) so I called ans asked if we would be able to get in, and I was told not without a ticket to get into that park.

So NOW WHAT??? Do I change the reservation?? Can I add park hopper for only 1 day of our tickets? What do I do? Do I just suck it up and send that day in MK. Crowd level will be 8 when 2 weeks ago it was at 6.

Some people swear by the dining plan. Even if it cost me more OOP (which it generally doesn't), I like the flexibility of ordering what I want, when I want, and not having to count credits, determine if something is "worth" a credit or figuring out how to "maximize" my credit.

I think this is what we decided, too. We want flexibility. I have been checking some of the places I know we want to eat and the most expensive (at this point!) is O'hana. I got a ressie way back and that and Crystal Palace are the only ones we have our hearts set on. CP is at 4:45 on MNSSHP night and DD's favorite characters are Piglet and Pooh. ;) We, also, plan to eat our way around the World a couple of times for F&W. :thumbsup2

So, for now, the great DDP debate has been put to rest (again).:lmao:

Thank you so much for your kind words.

The hopper option is a flat $55+ tax per ticket. Even if you only wanted to use it for one day, it will still be that price. The good news is, adding the hopper will allow you flexibility for your whole trip.

I didn't realize Oct 9 had increased that much! That was the day we were planning also. Boooo

Goofy_Mom, thank you for the website....I will have to check it out. Hubby will be ticked, but he'll get over it. :)

Kathy, I started packing at 60 days out. Yes, I am that sad. I have OCD (I've mentioned that, right?) and not only do I pack, I repack. And then, two about two days prior to leaving, I take everything out of the suitcases and pack them again. Just a little overkill, right?

I can actually start packing packing next weekend. It will still be warm enough for the kids to wear there shorts and capris until the end of September, but they're not going to need tank tops (DD11) and some of their t-shirts (DS) as well as their bathing suits. In the bag they go.

As for shoes, I'm only bringing two pair. I just bought a pair of skechers to wear around the parks and I will have a pair of black sandals for our dinner at California Grill. The family will just wear whatever sneakers they have with their "business casual" outfits. I'm sad I know, but it's less stuff I have to worry about and more space for souveniers.

We'll be there 10/15-21; maybe we'll see you, too! I've requested either Springs or Grandstands. DH doesn't go to the parks, so I want convenience to the pool for him.

I'm so glad to see so many folks staying at SSR! Have any of you stayed there before? I'm a bit nervous about it - please convince me that we (a family of all adults) will like it!

It's monster themed, because I already had these stickers and I was not going to spend more money on something I didn't need, but my niece will like it.

Also made LGMH; if you want directions, check my PTR below:

I'm staying there literally right before you and doing a live report, so feel free to check in with me if you want. It sounds wonderful. I have heard waiting for the bus can be long, but that can be true at any resort.

pp is correct the PH option is a flat fee. We have PH so what you thought about doing for Wishes is what I decided to do , just head over to MK for the dessert party to see Wishes rather than deal with the MK crowds on the days/nights that Wishes will be showing. If you can afford the PH they really do come in handy.

Otherwise switch and make MK your park that day, maybe go early leave and take a break then return for the dessert party?

Any night Wishes is showing the crowds will be huge, at least it is that way during my week

Good morning all!! :wave2:

Dude, I'm there. We're eating at La Hacienda de San Angel that night for dinner so we can hook up there after for that drink!! :thumbsup2 I don't know that we'll be staying for Illuminations because DD is FREAKED about loud noises and Illuminations is one of the loudest fireworks shows I've ever heard, so I wouldn't want to ruin her the first night.:scared1: Plus it's our travel day so we may be POOPED by then, but I am ALL OVER that margarita!! I hadn't planned on the LGMH, but I'll put one on JUST for you! God knows we're at Home Depot enough I can get me a sample.

First off, one can never have enough shoes. Second of all, I always bring 2 pairs of capris with me and a couple pairs of shorts, plus one pair of jeans. That way I'm covered no matter what. October is usually warm, but I'm like you, 80 degree weather is capri weather for me, so I'll probably wear capris, especially at night. I'll bring a light fleece with me as well that will be good whenever I get cold and that usually takes care of it!

I have the original Power 90 series but only did 1 day and got sick, so of course never started back up again. :sad2: Of course it's more because I have to get up at 5AM to do it and I am NOT a morning person. People swear by those programs, though, so at some point when I get a little more time, I am definitely going to do it!

It's monster themed, because I already had these stickers and I was not going to spend more money on something I didn't need, but my niece will like it.

Super cute! I love that calendar!!! I definitely have to put something together like that. DD is getting really excited to go and the teachers at school keep telling me she's always talking about it, so it would be nice for her to mark off the days with stickers every day, since the girl LOVES her some stickers!

(Ok, I just saw DD kiss the coffee table. Something might be wrong with her. :lmao:)

We leave a month from today on Oct. 2! I just received my DME booklet in the mail today. It's REAL. Can't WAIT.

Awesome!!!!!

Lisa....you can't miss me: I'm short, have red hair and am LOUD (I'm told you can hear my voice in the next building over! :)). I blame the loudness on the fact that I am partially deaf. Although.......that's probably not so much the case. I hope we do get to meet up. Closer to our dates, I'll send you my cell number. I live and breathe by the thing and you can text me when you are done dinner. I can totally understand about not staying for Illuminations with your DD, though. Loud noises can be very, very scary. We'll see how my little guy reacts next weekend; we have our annual fireworks spectacular in South Jersey. So, he'll either like it or I'm going to buy him headphones to listen to my iPod while Illuminations goes on. :thumbsup2

I was thinking about getting DD those noise canceling headphones for the fireworks but she gets freaked out whenever we're even near them, so I won't waste the money. I figure we can watch them from the distance since we'll be staying at the Poly and hopefully she'll get more used to them that way. Maybe by the end of the trip she'll actually like them! We'll exchange cells closer to the trip.

So I think we are going to upgrade to the hopper option when we get to Disney. DH wanted that anyways, but I was being cheap. And that will make everything ok for Wishes, and any other thing we want to change our minds on while there.
