***OFFICIAL*** October 2011 - Updated 10/08/11

today i am going to start working on all our different transporations so I have a feeling I will be asking a lot of questions today. On our first trip I made it easy for myself and only had ressies at the parks; not this time.

First question: We have ressies for the Spirit of Aloha at 8:00 on Tuesday Oct 18. We are going to spend the afternoon at MK then head over to the Poly.
So my questions:

Can I take the ferry from MK to the Poly, then take the ferry bake to MK to catch the bus back to CBR? MK is open until 12:00 due to the MNSSHP.

Also what time do you think we should head over to the POLY?
tia
Yes, you can take the ferry from MK to Poly and back. Generally, it is advised to plan an hour to get to an ADR. However, given the number of people likely to be leaving the MK at 7 because they don't have a party ticket, I'd probably leave a little before 7 to give yourself a cushion.

I'm a Poly vet, I can help you with this one. I would head over at 7:00 pm at the latest, and don't take the Ferry, take the resort launch to the Poly. It stops at the Grand Floridian first and the trip takes no more than 15 minutes total. You want to be able to walk to Luau Cove and get in line and have your pics taken first before they seat you.

I LOVE the SoA show! The food is tasty and the second half of the show with the traditional dancers is really, really good. The first half is a little too much "Disney Cheese", but it's still fun.

You will be able to take the resort launch back as well, it will run until at least midnight. Just walk from the boat dock back to the bus area.

thank you sounds like a great plan. I didn't know there was a photo opp.

Official! Booked a last minute trip for Oct 7-12 at Pop! We are not telling the little ones until the morning of. My 5 years old daughter is going to flip! She talks about our trip from last October every single day.

I'm on the other Oct. thread, but that is clearly not enough to obsess with, so I want to be on this one too!:lmao:

We are going Oct. 15-22 and will be POFQ. Our first time at POFQ and I am really excited.:dance3:

I'm having a hard time figuring out which park to do on arrival day. I know most people say MK, but I have it on two other days - Tuesday for MNSSHP and probably Friday.

We arrive on a Sat. at 11:50 - I am figuring 2 before we get to the resort, so what do you all think?:confused3

Saturday at MK will be busy due to limited showings of Wishes and MSEP because of MNSSHP nights.

DHS will be closing at 7? I am guessing but might not be too busy.

AK closes early so I would not consider that as you would only have a couple of hours to spend there otherwise AK is a good park to visit on Saturdays in October,

Since F&W is going on it is advised to avoid Epcot on weekend especially afternoon and evenings.

If I were you I think I might head over to DHS if you really want to do a park grab a quick bite at the resort first perhaps?, Then just go to MK later to see Wishes & MSEP?

It is hard deciding what to do your arrival day if your plane gets in late. I am so mad at JB, they changed my 6:30 am flight to 8 so I ended up changeing my entire first day, no park when we arrive, something we normally do but instead explore the resort, have lunch, rest for a bit when room is ready then head out in the evening to Epcot but since we are arriveing on a Wednesday it should be a good night for Epcot I hope.

I have 3 Mk days planned MNSSHP one night, Wishes Dessert Party on the Sat night just for the fireworks and then MK in the am until after lunch on a Sunday which is another party night, hopeing it is not too busy that day

Welcome!!! I will add you on the first post in just a few minutes. And I know what you mean by obsessing: I am on here at least 4 times a day, checking for new info on discounts and chatting on other topics.

Is it a bad thing to be this obsessed? lol

We are straddling two months. We are going for a surprise trip to the World September 28- October 2 @ AKL. We can't wait to surprise the kids.

Can you add me too? I posted yesterday, but I think I got overlooked. ;)

Thanks! This is exactly why I have been having the difficulty of choosing a park. :thumbsup2

We have park hoppers, so that will help. I've thought about checking out Epcot for the rides. My thinking is that locals are going for FW, so maybe the rides won't be too bad? Just wishful thinking?:confused3

With park hoppers, if it is too crowded, we could take a monorail ride and go see some of the other resorts and maybe MK for the fireworks.

So, it looks like I have it figured out - play it by ear!

Whatever we do - we'll be in Disney!:woohoo:

same days as us, we don't leave Detroit til 11 I think though that morning, so by the time we arrive in Florida its 2ish, by the time we get the bus etc and checkin our day is euchred, BUT I have an ADR for Chef Mickeys for dinner that night at 630, so at least we'll do one thing where is that btw? lol lol lol Maybe we could do a DTD or something afterwards or before if time, who knows. Our MNSSHP is Thursday :yay:

We are going down OCt 6th-10th and staying at the Treehouses at Saratoga Springs. So excited for this, the Disney rep on the phone talked me into this since they apparently are hard to get into and since there was a 40% off deal going on when I called:cool1:

Very cool, that sounds like a lot of fun and a good deal too

Hi anjalee6. Saw you on the Sept and MNSSHP and of course next Junes thread. We seem to be going at the same time this year. We're also going in Dec so you should join us then as well.:santa:

I always suggest taking an easy time of it the first day. You don't want to push too hard so you are ready for your first full day of fun. We usually schedule a nice dinner and then fill in the time before it. Maybe Downtown Disney and have a dinner reservation down there like Raglan Road? Or hang out at the pool at POFQ or walk over to POR and then have a dinner reservation at Cali Grill or somewhere else?

We are coming in on Friday the 14th. Our flight lands at 2:40pm (I think lol). We have a dinner reservation for Flying Fish at 7:40pm. We plan on just resting up in the room, getting settled, maybe a short walk if there is time. Otherwise, all we have is the reservation... now if I can just figure out the best way to GET to Flying Fish from POFQ!

1) Bus to Epcot, walk through to International Gateway, walk or boat to Boardwalk.

2) If you don't want to use a park ticket or walk through Epcot, then bus to DHS, boat to Boardwalk.

Yeah, I got my sept.-Oct. Trip! :cool1: my logic was just too good for my DH that he had to say yes! But sadly, no chance for a Dec trip. He definitely will not go for that one. :rotfl2: We can't wait to surprise the kids.

That is very true if your going for the rides in FW you may not find it busy. The beauty of having PH is you can leave and head to another park if you made a bad choice.

Our last trip we headed to DHS only to find it wall to wall people so we hopped the boat over to BW had lunch and went to Epcot instead.

Yea, we have thought about doing option 1 or just getting a taxi. We could easily upgrade our tickets another day if it comes to that. Does anyone know what a taxi might cost?
