another food question:
I have ADR's for the brown derby in hollywood studios, i have spent the day resting and relaxing and reading the dis board and have found very little on the Brown Derby is there a reason for this? I am just curious if maybe it is not worth a 2 food credits, thoughts please.

I was wondering the same thing, I switched our Le Cellier to a lunch so I could make the ADR for Brown Derby, previously I had one at 50's Prime Time. Not sure if I made a mistake or not. Have not eaten at BD since 1997.:confused3

That is really cute!

You are talented.

thanks and I should give credit (sorry I didn't before :guilty:) the design itself is by Diser RustFanMan (Marion) I came up w/ the pin idea :goodvibes to give away

my DH & I are eating at HBD too this trip for lunch, we are actually dinning OOP for this trip so will probably order med priced entrees and share a dessert :goodvibes haven't eaten there either since '98 (trips since w/ kids) so I am looking forward to it...i wouldn't use 2 credits for lunch but dinner yes...i have read various reviews here and on the Food Blog and else where both pos & neg...

I agree look at the menu if nothing immediately jumps out at you...then probably pass...

happy eating either way

This is my first post on here. We are going to WDW october 15th - 29th 2011 we are staying off site at the Grand Beach

Tracey

We have not been there since 2007, but it was one of the best meals we had that trip... maybe even THE best. We are scheduled to eat there for lunch this trip and are really looking forward to it.

When we ate there in 1997 it was DH my DS(18) and my DS friend also 18, the food was good only thing it was not filling for either of the boys with their appietites. This trip will just be DH and myself. I am thinking when I looked at the menu it was the same for lunch and dinner, even same priceing :confused3 I have to go back and check it again. I know myself I would like to get the cobb salad for 2 for our app and I want to try that grapefruit cake, no idea about and entree.

Thanks for your opinion. I did read a lot of posters on the DIS that said the same thing, I will probally keep the ADR since places to eat are so limited at DHS. My other thought was maybe go over to the BW to the Big River Grille :confused3

We were just at WDW for Star Wars Weekends and did Brown and Derby for lunch. It is one of our favorite restaurants, so much so, we asked the Grand Floridian Convention kitchen staff to recreate the noodle bowl for our reception lol.

This time DH had a steak and I had some short ribs and we both shared a mahi mahi appetizer. It all was sooo good!!! Their grapefruit cake is also not to be missed :thumbsup2

Hope you have a wonderful meal!

OK, DD has decided to join us and wants to do MNSSHP on Oct. 18. Anyone else?

we are going to there DD is going to be tinkerbell, DS keeps changing his mind guess that's okay it's still early. I am thinking of going as a Dis member, wear my mickey ears and my neon green t-shirt. DH says no way he will wear the same t-shirt he wears every years.

Just booked for Oct 14-22!! Sooo excited!
we are there the exact same dates! where are you coming in from? We are staying at BLT.

Oct 15-23 at Pop...looking forward to it. Looks like no discount this year.
woo hoo- lots of us there during this time- we are 14-22

There should be discounts coming out next month or possibly in August. My family will be at POP Oct 14-23! Hoping for free dining, but anything will do. We're going as planned even if no discounts come out, but it would sure be nice to get one!:rotfl:
wow, even more of us that week! should be fun!

DH and I are going on our first trip to WDW for our 13th Anniversary. We will be staying at POP Oct.12-21. I am so excited I can't stand the wait! :woohoo:
happy anniversary!!!

Can you add me to the list? Oct 14-22 All Star Sports :)
welcome!

wow, that's at least 5 or more of us that week in these last few pages. are you doing MNSSHP and if so, what night?

How cool is that!

My DD just decided that she will join us on the trip! Now, my DH has said that he only wants to go to a park once, for F&W, and then spend the rest of the time golfing or at the resort. That was fine with me. But now that DD is coming, too, he'll want to stick with us a bit more than if it were just me. ;) So I went ahead and bought a 4 day hopper from UT for him, still at the old prices! And it's even discounted from the old prices! :cool1: Now he doesn't even have to know how much it costs to get into the parks! I think if he had seen how much it cost to upgrade from 1 day to 2, he'd have balked at the price. Now he can't - it's already paid for!
yeah for your DD coming! and great on getting the passes at the old price!

Hi  Oct DISERS...haven't been by in a awhile...so I hope everyone is still super excited for their upcoming trips...getting closer now :cool1:

I am working on fine tuning my day to day plans and made some special DIS gifts to pass out as i am truly hoping for several impromptu DISmeets...

I also made one for MNSSHP night too :thumbsup2

well happy planning!
Those are so cute!!!

Guess I have to join both,,,

we are going September 27th - Oct 4th. so excited that i didnt realize i only joined the September thread.

YAY!!!!!!

Put us on the October list. Finally got all the family talked in to it. Definately weren't planning on going again this year (Just spent 13 days there for DH's R&R leave from deployment). Then they announced that the special Armed Forces Salute tickets had dropped the restiction of how many you could buy in a year. My sister, her 3 kids and their kids have never been so I thought "this would be the perfect opportunity" for us all to go! There are 15 of us total (16 if nephews daughter gets to go - he only gets her on weekends so not sure and her fall break isn't the same but she is just in K5).

My dad and brother will be going as well, they have gone before with DH, myself and the kids.

Only down side is DH won't be there. :sad1:

I am excited to get to share Disney with my family though and looking forward to seeing the little girls faces (great nieces are 2 & 3).

We will be staying at Westgate Town Center.

Our travel dates are October 10th - 16th.

This is what I'm thinking:

Oct 10 - drive day/check in
Oct 11 - water park day (splitting the day between the two water parks)
Oct 12 - Animal Kingdom
Oct 13 - Hollywood Studios
Oct 14 - Epcot
Oct 15 - Magic Kingdom
Oct 16 - head for home

Not planning any character meals this trip as its a budget trip for most but looking forward to having a blast!!!!!
