i would love to get some earlier breakfasts but as of today those were the only openings. And the late dinner at Teppon Edo is because DH will be scuba diving until 7:30. Hopefully some earlier ADR's will open up.

We tried the early breakfasts one year and it was just too much to get everyone up, ready and travel to the park that early. I scheduled 7:30 and 8:00 breakfasts that year and we had to get up at the crack of dawn for all 5 people to get ready and allow travel time. They have to be at school shortly after 7 so I figured - that wouldn't be much different. WRONG! Yes, the pictures inside the park without folks in the back were wonderful but everyone was so cranky and sleepy because we didn't get in bed until late the night before - - - - Since the kids are older now, I wouldn't even consider breakfast for us before 9:00 even though I am up before 6 even on vacation. I do good to get them there at RD. My family dinner hour is pretty late because of sports but when we travel to WDW, my parents are with us and they can't handle eating after 7 pm. Everyone is different and you know what your family can handle. Keep checking - I have noticed things opening up that weren't there before.

I started getting antsy about our ADRs after reading everyone good reviews and looking at the food pics (aka food porn) on these boards...so I got a few more reservations!

Now our ADR list is as follows:

Sat 10/15 Tusker House breakfast 8:15
Sat 10/15 Yak and Yeti 2:00
*NEW* Sun 10/16 Plaza Restaurant 1:00
*NEW* Mon 10/17 Le Cellier at 2:15 (soup, bread and dessert!)
*NEW* Thurs 10/20 Biergarten at 1:35
Fri 10/21 Sci Fi Dine In 1:10
Fri 10/21 Hoop Dee Doo 7:15

Any thoughts or feedback? I may be an uber planner, but I am also a first timer. Oh, and we plan to do House of Blues one night, but not sure when yet. They have a lot of reservations open, so I figure I can wait more on that or even (dare I say) walk up!

it's time for the question of the day: Just got off the phone with DH and he is concerned about making our 4:05 ADR to CRT. Here is our plan:

We arrive at MCO at 1:30 and have planned to take ME to CBR check in and head over to MK for dinner and MNSSHP. Jeff is concerned that we won't have time to get to the park to make our ADR.

Do you think it is possible or should i look into a cab (if we take a cab, we will have to wait for luggage and bring car seats)? Also any idea how much a cab would be.

Thoughts please

With ME being so iffy on how long it can take you might be cutting it close. I vote for just trying to get a little later ADR.

I agree about trying to get a later ADR for CRT. I normally allow 2hours from touch down at MCO to getting to the resort, so many thing can effect how long it might take you. Traffic , day of the week your arriving, you might have to wait for a ME bus or encounter a line at check-in etc. It would be a shame for something to happen and your cc being charged for the ADR if you miss getting there.

Hi...let me hop on the Oct. train too!!:) Couldn't decide between Oct. or Nov. dates. However Oct. worked better for our schedule so I just finalized our dates.....10/4 - 10/11 at CSR. This trip will be DH, DS12 and myself. No WDW magic for our older DS since he is out of school now and working....no time to get away. I don't think he really cares since he's not the Disney fanatic the rest of us are :confused3 Anyway, this will be our 10th trip to WDW and our 3rd stay at CSR....can't wait.:dance3:

hello and happy sunday - i have a 4:05 ADR at CRT on Oct 18 (mnsshp) i know we can't get into the park until 4:00 will they hold the ADR if we are a couple minutes late.
Hey there, if you are a few minutes late, no biggie. We've been as late as 15/20 minutes because the monorail was full and we had to wait on another to get over to the Poly.

YES!!! :cool1: That works out perfectly!
That'll be a fun surprise! I loved CRT! I thought the castle itself was the best part of the meal!!

So on a less cheery note (I know, I'm a bummer!! :sad1: ), has anyone heard the news of Disney stopping the monorail for evening EMH on the 17th? This apparently includes parties and I'm none too happy about that. We can take the boat, so hopefully it won't be too crowded, but the monorail is the reason we shelled out half our life savings for the Poly (ok, maybe only a quarter, but still). Dragging a sleeping 3 year old out of a stroller onto a bus and trying to get her back to sleep at the resort is not my idea of a good time. Luckily for us it'll only be for the party because I can't see us staying for evening EMH any other time (although I am meeting friends for F&W on our last day there), but I know a lot of people over on the Poly thread are PISSED! I'm sure the Contemporary and GF threads are lit up too. Changes for sure where I'll stay next time. Plus I hear they are doing work over between GF and the Poly for a new DVC. I'll go back to AK or over to FW if that's the case. MUCH cheaper!!! :thumbsup2
I did read that and am very disappointed. no one can quite figure out yet if it is temporary or permanent and if it is based on maintenance or cost cutting. They haven't yet confirmed if they will run the monorails for the parties or not. I think they are waiting to see what the response is on cutting back for EMH. so there is still hope for the parties maybe. If i was staying at the Poly or GF, i would be super pissed. We are at BLT, so we can walk to MK (and actually prefer that over the monorail- just easier for MK). So it won't affect us much other than Epcot. But still bummer. keep us posted if you hear more!!!

Hi all! I am a DIS newbie and don't even have enough posts to do a PM, but I want to jump on the October train.

We are going 15-22 and staying at POFQ. This will be our first time at POFQ and only our third trip. We are so excited! (OK, I'm more excited than anyone - including the kids)
Welcome! we are there the 14-22 at BLT! I love POFQ- it is beautiful and you will really enjoy it. the pool is a lot of fun and the food court is great. Be sure and try the beignets!

I gave my opinion on the FB group thread, but for others that aren't on there, i say move the ADR back if you can. You might have no problems at all making it, but you could easily miss it too. You just never know and it all depends on if your flights is on time, if you are towards the front and can deplane faster, if the ME line is long/short, how long ME takes and if you have stops on ME. Plus the check in line at CBR and how long the bus will take to get you to MK. All items you can predict how long they will take. I would play it safe and allow at least 4-5 hours between my touch down time and an ADR or other event- just in case. many folks easily make ADRs so close, but many don't. ;)

Thanks for the warm welcomes! I am so looking forward to the beignets! I have seen some great food porn pictures of those on these boards.;)

srauchbauer - I think I have to agree with the pp that advise changing the 4:05 ressie for CRT - there are just so many variables with getting from the airport to resort to CRT. Have you checked to see if there are later times available? We'll be at MNSSH on the 18th, as well! :)

Our family is going Oct 8 - 11 and will be staying at Saratoga Springs. We will be doing MNSSHP on October 10th. Could we be added to the first post? I did send a private message last week, I just hope it went through!!

It's official! I am now in double digits! Anyone care to do the double digit dance with me????:banana:

I will do the dance with you and chant ROLL TIDE ROLL at the same time! I *LOVE* your avatar!

Oh, and our ADRs:

10/8 - Crystal Palace @ 7:10PM

10/9 - Tusker House @ 9:10AM

10/10 - Chef Mickey's @ 10:55AM We didn't want this one too early so that we could rest up for the MNSSHP that night. We will probably grab a small snack in our room that morning and have a solid brunch and head back to the resort to relax until we get ready for MNSSHP.

I am soooo excited!!! Knowing that I will turn 40 with WDW this year eases the blow!

Just now figured out how to post a picture in my signature and wanted to show it to you. Maybe tomorrow I'll try to add some closer up shots of at least the kids, but it took me so long to get the sizing right that I'm done with it for tonight!:rotfl:

I haven't checked in here in a while so I'm behind but just noticed we are also double digits! :cool1: 79 days to go!

Love it! I love the outfits and the fact that you're with the Mouses! :thumbsup2

I've heard it's permanent, at least according to the press clip I read. Still don't know about the parties, but if I hear anything, I'll post it. Grrr. :headache:

Finally in double digits!! 99 days to go!
:banana::banana:

105 for us - now I am counting down to my double digit day!!! Will the madness never stop?!?!?!

Dawn

Goooooooooooooood morning everyone!
 I woke up to 100 days left today!

Pffffff still 107 days for me:rotfl: But close enough! *Double digit dances anyway*

Just looked for the first time after not looking for a bit (did I post yesterday??? My days have blended at this point! :lmao:) and we're at 102!!!! :cheer2:
