Finally nailed down all our CS meals. I like to plan these, or at least have a few options, so that we try something new. I've heard there are so many awesome CS restaurants, (especially at Epcot) and I want to make sure we don't just eat burgers and fries the whole trip.

1st time:
Flame Tree BBQ
Pizza Planet (I tried to talk my son out of this one, but no go...)
Fairfax Fare
ABC Commissary (I know, plain ole CS stuff, but what else is there at HS?)
Pecos Bill
Tangeriene Cafe

repeat visit:
Sunshine Seasons
Columbia Harbour House

DD3 and I also made our countdown chain today. Boy, does it look long:

love the countdown chain!

Flame Tree is one of our favorites, although the menu has gotten more limited over the years. We also love Pecos Bills! Where is Fairfax Fare?

This is my families first Disney World trip, We are going Oct 15-22! So excited! ( i went twice before i was 12 but not since and DH and DS(8) have never been, and DS(8) has never flown) DS knows we are planning a trip but told him it would be a long time b/c we need to save a little extra money, I'm going to get my parents to tell him they are picking someone up from the airport, and he has to ride with them which is not a stretch because he stays with them a lot because i work. Then when they get inside, my husband and I will be waiting inside and be all like " SUPPRISE!, We are getting on a plane and leaveing right now!" Ahh I'm soo excited! But it is SOOO hard to keep my mouth shut and not talk about it. SO I joined DISboards for an outlet!

welcome to the boards! sounds like a great surprise. I am horrible at keeping surprises. heck, i have a goodie bag for my DS4 and can barely wait to give it to him on the trip. not sure how i would keep a trip a secret. :confused3:rotfl: He will be so surprised!!! :wizard:

Welcome!! :cheer2: Your plan sounds like so much fun!!! I wouldn't be able to keep it a secret either, though, and my DD is only 3!

So jealous of everyone in the 60s now. I'm at 72 today and was just thinking this morning that I'm sooooooooo done with summer. My MIL offered to come up and stay for a few days to give me a break because she knows I've had a tough year. :scared1: I told her thanks but unless she can produce some vacation time from work, that's not helping much. Dodged a bullet there!!! :rotfl2:

Have a great weekend everyone! Family reunion tomorrow with my dad's side of the family, so it should be fun. They're a bunch of characters! And by characters I mean... :drinking1

(Ha! Don't tell them I said that.)

Good luck! which YES class are you eyeing? We are signed up with my sons for the morning of 10/21 in DHS..I forget what it's called, but you get to go into the Tower of Terror. It sounds like so much fun.

I wanted the Oceans class on 10/17, but it is full. I am going to ask DD what else she might like.

Congrats!:thumbsup2

Where are you going to stay?popcorn::

Poly!! We love it there :)

I am really trying to plan an October trip!:worship:

We had planned on going in November, but had to cancel that trip. I will be teaching this fall. We planned that trip before I got the position. For the first time, our school is having a Fall Break in October. There is a Y.E.S. class that DD can take, so we would save a lot on tickets. So, fellow DISers, please think happy, positive thoughts for us!!!!! :yay:

Sending magic your way :wizard:

I like Pizza Planet! I enjoy their veggie pizza - yum!

I've been to Disney a few times (with the family) but DH and I decided this trip is going to be a surprise. So I'm with you! And I have a VERY hard time keeping secrets. My DH said "$50 says you squeal" so we both put $50 into an envelope and he taped it up in our bedroom and he wrote, "Shhhh! Be quiet". Like the kids aren't going to ask about that! But he can answer their questions

ABC Commissary (I know, plain ole CS stuff, but what else is there at HS?) - this place is awful in my opinion. I've eaten there twice and both times I thought the food was just horrendous. I've heard great things about the sandwiches at Starring Rolls, so you might want to check them out.

That was my first thought, but they don't have a kids menu. My kids will eat ham or turkey sandwiches, but can we use dining plan credits on these?

I love this! I see you have a cat in the picture - my cat would not allow this chain to exist for more than the time it took me to get it hung in the doorway!:lmao:

So far she has ignored it.

DD3, however, is a different story. She keeps taking the end and swinging it like you would a jump rope.

love the countdown chain!
Where is Fairfax Fare?

It is at Hollywood Studios, on Sunset Blvd. It's a walk-up BBQ place with outdoor seating. Haven't been there, but heard good things about it. (better than the ABC Commissary, that's for sure. Maybe we will just eat there twice if it is good!)

What are these classes and how do you get in them?

The YES classes are courses that Disney offers to groups or to individuals (for some) where you get to learn some curriculum and go behind the scenes. Their website is http://www.disneyyouth.com/individual-enrollment/overview/ and all the info is there. This is our first time doing it, so I know only what that site says and what I have read on these forums.

Welcome and congrats on the first trip! This is our first trip too and we are going to be there the same dates. My boys are older than yours (11 and 13) and we decided to tell them about the trip so they can plan around it for school. These boards are a great planning resource and an outlet to channel your excitement into...even my family is starting to roll their eyes at my planning talk!

Happy Saturday everyone!

We have joined the 60's club today! 69 days to go

I got my Vera Bradley bag today, I ordered the Vera Bradley Lizzy Viva La Vera. It was a little smaller than I thought, but it will work just fine.

Yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee for 69 Days! :cheer2:

I hit 66 today

The Lizzy is the one I almost bought in the same pattern but instead bought the travel belt bag (sorta like a fanny pack)
I went back to the site today thinking of maybe ordering another bag and the sale was off, the one I bought for $14.99 was $22.99 today, I almost ordered two the other day to save on shipping wish I had now.

congrats on the 60's tlenzendorf and SJS.

Tinkerbellie, yippy on the aifare. makes it all real!!

I don't know if I was sleeping this week or what but I just now realized I too am in the 60's WOOOOO HOOOOO. It really feels like it's flying by. Happy that it's getting closer but trying not to wish two months of my life away:rotfl: Plus, what am I going to do when it's over?:confused3 I guess I'll start planning my next trip. See we haven't been to WDW is something crazy like 17/18 years and I'm fully expecting to be addicted and want to go back

Hey y'all!

You helped me realize I have 53 days!!!
count em .... 53 days till I leave Oct 7th. That scares me though because this now means I really have to kick it in high gear finding THE BEST deal on a small suv or a mini van for rent. Anyone with any kick butt ideas on how to save money ... i need it from VA to FL for 10 days.

Im so sad not to be flying, I grew up with wings *the daughter of a united airlines employee* I flew everywhere and for free ... and now all id have to pay are the taxes on the ticket if i flew (albeit standby) but my travel partner REFUSES to fly. So we are driving .. and i feel like the anxiety will kill me for that long drive ...

I am so excited. Back to work has really helped time to fly. First day with kiddos tomorrow so now it will really fly! Yay!!!!!!!!:banana:
But not Creepy Guy Yay!:rotfl:

just got back from a wonderful long weekend at the cabin, next item to focus on is the first day of school 9/6. Then a fun weekend trip to Wausau, WI for a wonderful craft show then we are down to under a month.

Wow where did summer go.

Must add i just noticed we are at 65 days

We are exactly two months out. Two months from now, we'll be on the first plane heading for Amsterdam! :cool1: And tomorrow, I can book Party for the Senses
