Official October 2010 Thread!!- INCLUDE YOUR DATE/RESORT IN YOUR HEADER!!

We are going Oct 2-9th. Not sure what hotel yet. I am debating between POR, POP or CSR.

It will be me and my DH, and our DD's. My MIL, SIL, BIL, their two kids.

My DH and I LOVE MNSSHP, they have one of the best parade's EVER! We also loved seeing the costumes people came up with. Even though we dont have kids, we still do the trick or treating and wait for pictures with the characters. If you are a halloween fan, you should definately go to this.

We've done MNSSHP with and without kids and we had a blast both times!! We even did costumes without the kids and we were not the only adults there without children! We did focus a little less on collecting candy, but we still had an incredible time!

I agree with both posters - We have no children and have been to the Halloween party 3 times and dressed up for 2 of them. We also do trick or treating, and meet characters, as well as do rides, and watch the parade/fireworks. Definitely my favorite Disney event!

I think that the both of us would do costumes if we went just not sure what else there was to do if you were not getting candy for the kids?

Thanks for the insight:thumbsup2

All of the rides are pretty much walk on, and there are a ton of characters in halloween costumes to meet! They have a lot of special photo ops with characters you don't see normally (such as Snow White with all 7 dwarfs - whose line is often 2 hours long). It's a lot of fun to just dress up, watch the parade, watch the fireworks, and just walk around and enjoy the atmosphere while you do the rides!

Thanks for the info, hopefully I can talk DH into going to the party.:wizard:

And this year, DH and I are bringing my best friend for her first trip. I can't wait, and booked our airfare today since SW opened up the extended booking window. It's getting real now!
:scared1:

Thanks for letting us know that SW opened their flights, just booked my flights too... now really doing the Happy Dance. :dance3: :woohoo:

So excited. Made our reservations on Southwest Airlines yesterday for our Oct. 1-9 trip. Every piece of the puzzle that falls into place brings us closer to our great family trip.

It is exciting but also knowing that I have over 200 days, makes me kinda sad :sad2:

Is there an actual list of dates and who staying where on this thread???

Just hit the 200-day mark on my countdown calendar! :woohoo:

I must agree that booking the airfare made the excitement grow that much more. The next planning step is seeing the park hours for October to decide which park on which days and make the ADR's.

Are any of you planning on going to MNSSHP? I'm trying to decide if the hard ticket cost is worth the experience for my 6-year old.

When does the calendar come out for October? i need to plan the ADRs but we have not decided if we will do MNSSHP, we are leaving on a cruise and not sure I want to pack the costumes...

We will be there Oct. 16th - 23rd. And FYI - They posted for the Oct. hours last night :)
