2 more days! packing is a nitemare! we started last nite, but i have to admit packing for disney with kids is hard! i keep thinking im going to forget something. oy.

Glad to hear another positive vote for DTW.

I originally wasn;t that keen on the idea of getting a connecting flight. But by all accounts immigration is really quick in DTW, and the terminal looks awesome with it's monorail and magic light tunnel.

We have a 3 hour change over, so should be plenty for us to collect our luggage, clear immigration and check in.

And I even get my first Taco Bell of the last 3 years as there's one by our gate. Yum!

You will love the magic light tunnel!! :rotfl::thumbsup2 It's very cool!

May I suggest instead of Taco Bell :upsidedow...I guess I would miss it after 3 years too.....that you try Fuddruckers if you like hamburgers at all. I must tell you that besides wanting to fly NW that this is one of the other reasons we like this airport.....years and years ago there used to be a Fuddruckers here (they are still scattered across the US) and oh how I miss it....I am not a big burger person but I really look forward to my layover there!!

This is going to be a lonnnnnggggg week!

Tracy

Hmmm, fuddruckers does sound good.

Maybe we'll try it on the way back for you. ;)

I need me some Taco! :rotfl:

Why we don;t have any kind of Mexican fast food at ALL in England upsets me - a lot!

For those who are leaving soon, take ponchos, but don't worry about the rain! Seriously, you won't melt. Yes, you may get wet, but you will still be in Disney! I mean, how bad can it be?? :rotfl:

It poured at our MNSSHP last year and dd and I were talking this past weekend about that trip and she still says she had a blast and would love to do it again! (Little does she know.......she'll be there soon!)

A funny DD story from this weekend:

She is taking French 1 this year and has decided she wants to go to France. She figures I will want to go since I can go to Euro Disney. We have a DS who will be going to college in 2 years, so she has been told "sometime" we will consider it.

So we order Chinese food for dinner. She comes running to find us later to show us her Fortune from the Fortune Cookie. She swears it is a sign! It said, "Your feet will soon land in many countries". :lmao: I can't wait to tell her her fortune was right....she can see France and many other countries at Epcot!:rotfl2:

I just realized that 1 week and 2 days means.....9 days! :scared1: I have SO much to do!! Plus, both my washer and dryer need to be repaired this week! Of all of the weeks for them to BOTH die!:headache:

We leave in 2 days, and I spent 6 hours in Emergency with my 4 year old last nignt

The good news....it's not appendicitis. The bad news....it may be a stomach virus that the rest of us could get !:scared1: At least this experience reminded me that I hadn't yet purchased trip medical insurance !:rotfl:

AND, to make life even more exciting, the dog is throwing up today too.

Crossing my fingers that the germs can be kept at bay, and that I'll get a good couple of nights sleep before we leave! Can't be exhausted at the beginnning of a Disney trip!

Thanks for letting me blow off some steam.............now desperately need a nap!

Hope your son feels better soon and that the rest of you stay healthy!

Thanks to those of you talking about Fuddruckers. Now I seriously want a burger, and we don't have one nearby. They have the best buns ever.

Anyone hear about the new Buy 4 Get 3 promo they came out with for November through March? I'm happy for those it will benefit, but I'm also really happy it doesn't start until after our trip is over. I can't imagine the crowds with some people getting free dining and some getting 7 for 4!

3 weeks from tomorrow!!!! Can't wait but also can't believe I haven't started packing yet! YIKES!!! This is not like me. I think it's harder this time because the kids are still wearing shorts and T's so it's hard to pack. I'd better get a move on it!!!

I got some disneyfied packages today! Not true mickey mail, but one was lou mongello's trivia book (volume 2) and the other was Oliver & Company and Wall-e on DVD!

Guess I'm set with stuff to do to get excited for the trip! 17 days!

This past Feb/March we had a trip planned to go to Texas to see my mom a few days before we left my daugher caught a bad virus and we had to take her to the ER for hydration..(thank God I knew to take her rather than try to play it out) they told me it was highly contagious..but none of us got it...we made sure we did proper hand washing and used lysol etc..Emilie was tired but we went our trip anyway..and by the rime we got to Texas to see my mom she had improved...

So hang in there!! Sending positive vibes your way!

I hope everyone gets better from the flu stuff:sick:

So after I had my dream about not being packed and ready for disney...I have 19 days and my week is going...
Mon - volleyball
Tue - basketball
Wed - volleyball
Thur - volleyball
Fri - homecoming
Sat - volleyball
Sun - off
Mon - choir concert
and so on, and so on, and so on....

Looks like is isn't so unreasonable to start packing 3 weeks ahead of time:sad2:

Hey all-- I need help with costume ideas for MNSSHP! We leave in 18 days, :woohoo: so if we are going to order anything online, it has to be soon!

Past years: Peter Pan & Tink, Winnie the Pooh and a honey bee, and Alice & the Queen of Hearts. Last year we didn't have time to plan costumes, which was kind of a bummer, so I don't want to miss out this year!

I'm going to post pics of our previous costumes on my PTR, so please come by and make some suggestions! :) :yay:

Wow 9 sleeps...Going to start on the packing in the next few days...Hubby works offshore and is due off this week! I really hope there is no fog that is going to keep him on the rig! 5 days is the longest he has ever been stuck on it.

Wishing your family a speedy recovery! My oldest son stayed home today with a terrible cold/cough...sigh. We leave Friday.

I need me some Taco! :rotfl:

Me too!!!:thumbsup2

2 sleeps left and im the only healthy one! knock on wood! dh has strep, ds has slap cheek and dd had a yeast infection and now has developed another infection on top from scratching it. oy...i'm thinking of taking my medicine cabinet with us.....

We're all packed now, and I just have 2 more days to get through at work.

It's so hard to concentrate though.

My excitement keeps getting turned into worry though, I think it's because of our connecting flight. I hate the stress of having to make a connection.

Once we're on the Detroit-Orlando plane, hopefully I'll start to get some magic. And then once we're on the ME I'm pretty sure I'll be bouncing in my seat the whole way.

I too am stressing about our connection in Houston. I have teminal maps printed and we will be ready to run when we land. I've always had plenty of time between connections, but this time our flight was changed on us. We decided to go with it.

I am packing as we speak. Everytime I think of something, I jump up and add it.
I just realised I don't have enough clothes!;) Plenty in the bag for DH. :confused3
Dh had to go across town today and told me there was a big sale at the Disney Store. I didn't even know there was a store where he was! Guess where DD and I are going tommorow...:cool1: (My DH must be trying to get me out of the house... DD said "how does Dad know what's going on at the Disney Store?" Stranger things have happened.
2 days off work now, then I have to work Thurs.. then leave Friday morn! YAY:banana:
