OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

Sharing a bit of joy now too! We made our final payment a few days ago. Things were up in the air for us, but it's finally time. We'll be there Monday after Thanksgiving, can't wait to take my mom around to celebrate my 30th and do her favorite things -- enjoy dining (ddxdp!!!) and viewing all the Christmas decorations. We're staying at POFQ. It's our 14th trip to WDW but the first one in almost ten years. I can't imagine how much has changed, but our experience did seem to still help with the planning stages.

Ya'll think we'll be ok being old vets without having seen the battlefield for a decade??

We have changed our plans to go to AK instead of HS the last day. What are some must do's? I haven't been in many many years!
Fight of Passage
Na'vi River Journey
Kilimanjaro Safari
Festival of the Lion King
Everest
Dinosaur
Rivers of Light - it is a once and done as far as I'm concerned

Looking forward to seeing my DD in a couple weeks! We are ridiculously busy until we leave so I'll be ready for a vacation.
Also helping my niece plan a last minut trip for her and her DD and DH. They're going Nov 13-15 (early flight arrival day, late flight departure day) using my DD comp tickets, plus we gifted them party tickets on the 14th. Got woken up by a ding dong ditch doorbell ringing at 230 am - and when I checked phone there was a TP dining alert- been trying to get them a princess meal. Alas I was too late (only by 3 minutes) but I did get them an 8:20 breakfast at 1900 PF. Will see if she wants to keep that or not...it's been fun helping her plan. She hasn't been since a very little girl and her DH and DD have never been. Niece is catching on like a pro though asked a couple questions, read a bunch and then planned her FP!
Now that Halloween is over debating on switching over to thanksgiving stuff (don't have much) vs going with Christmas. I basically have weekend of the 11th to decorate if I'm going to as we will be gone 17-26th...I did find my disposable tDay stuff from last year (I hosted family so I got tons of napkins and cups) and tossed that into packing pile.

And got a few FP for late dec trip.

We are in the same boat. I told my hubby I was putting Christmas décor up on the 11th and he looked at me like I was crazy lol. We are going Nov 16-24 and the 25th is my daughter's bday so I want to use Sunday to relax before going back to work, not put up decorations.

I can cancel ADRs up to the day before that ADR, right? I still have an extra lunch waiting to find out if they are going to move the Festival of Fantasy parade on our MK day for the Christmas show taping. Wish they'd just announce it already! Ugh!!

One of my favorite attractions in the whole resort is Everest, so if you like roller coasters then that’s a must! Don’t forget to look at all of the animal trails. DSis and I got caught up in all of the rides our first time at AK and at the end of the day we realized we had barely seen any animals. I also love Rafiki’s Planet Watch (they have short character waits and a petting zoo), Festival of the Lion King, and the Safari!

I absolutely love planning my trips, but the last week is always the most stressful.
I plan other peoples' trips for a living, but I always seem behind on my own lol! And I also always say I'm going be be ahead of the game the week before we go - and that never works

Us too and haven't packed either! I have made lists though, to do, to pack.
I'm a big list person but haven't made them yet, either! The farthest I've gotten are piles of clothes on the ironing board to pick through and decide what to bring lol.

Have a great trip and enjoy food & wine! Can't wait to read the next DR/TR all about it!
Thanks, you too! Ugh I'm going so slow on my current reports, I used to update much quicker :car: But I'm definitely throwing some F&W reviews in my current DR!

Safe travels!!!! I always pack last minute too. Hahaha
:thanks: Some of us work better under pressure lol!

@woodnymph gave you a great list. If you have littles, my daughter loves the Boneyard playground in Dinosaur land. It's just a playground with slides but she could run around there for an hour. She also really likes the Rapids ride. She likes to get soaking wet. It's a quick ride but fun.

We never make it out there. It's on our list this trip.

Hey guys, I'm doing some last minute tweaks to our dining. On Friday Dec 1 (leaking into Dec a bit here...) I had us seeing Rivers of Light in AK, then going to Epcot for dinner at Hacienda San Angel in hopes of a firework view for our last night at WDW.

Knowing there's one whole room and plenty of tables with no view there makes it a gamble that i'm not certain of, since we're watching Illuminations earlier in the week, anyways. With that uncertainty in place, we have the TS credits for a standard dinner. I was thinking if we did Sanaa, we could also see the AKL Christmas decorations.

TLDR, Hacienda San Angel during fireworks (I already have this ADR) or Sanaa?

ADR's for Sanaa are getting thin so I'll have to decide and book, but i'm just so unsure!

Someone please correct me if I’m wrong, but in 2016 I tried cancelling a BOG lunch reservation the day before around 8pm and it gave me a notice it was going to charge me the $10/pp fee. Guest services told me some ADR’s require 2 days notice.

Great shirts. I always love the shirts with the castle and Mickey/Minnie head. I should just order myself one already!

"Sorcerer Mickey Mouse Raglan Tee for Adults - Walt Disney World 2017"
looked it up, i love it! super cute!

My wife had those made for us! My personal favorite is that Peter Pan one, LOL. Saw it at Target and had to get it!!!!!!
love these! sometimes you just have to do it!

Oh yes. Waiting for the two custom-made shirts to arrive.

DS: YOU PROMISED YOU WEREN'T GOING TO DO THAT THIS TRIP!!!

Me: I lied. :darth:

my mom keeps saying i need to save money but i love disney shirts too much! lol

Ok so I have a BOG Dinner reservation at 6:30 on our MVMCP night 11/28. It's the only BOG res I've been able to get. How horrible of an idea is this? It's our first ever party. My kids are 4 and 2, plus my husband, myself and my parents. We are super excited to go to the party but won't be standing in line for any characters (except maybe Moana if she is there and the line is not hours long). My plan was to be at BOG around 6-6:15 to see if they can seat us early or get us set to actually be seated by 6:30. I know dinner takes a while though.... I don't want to miss prime party time.

I'm desperately trying to change the reservation to around 5 that day or to 11/29, but with no luck. Anyone have a res for 6 they are going to drop?? Or have experience doing a 6:30 res at a party? Or have any other tips or advice? Just dessert is not an option. We are on the meal plan and I want that as one of our table service credits. I guess I'll just have to spend even more time on MDE...refresh...refresh...refresh. o_O

I don't know about the rest of what you want to know, BUT I will say the Reservation Finder on Touring Plans is literally the only reason I was even able to get a BOG reservation... Definitely recommended, let it do the refreshing for you when you can't be at the computer... :)

Absolutely! I've had those alerts all focused toward BOG for weeks now. It's the last reservation I'm looking for. Unfortunately I missed a 4:20 one on 11/29 last week. I was at my computer too! Slipped through my fingers..... Gotta have lightning reflexes!
