OFFICIAL NOVEMBER 2017 THREAD

Booked FD for Nov. 14-18. Hadn't been planning to do it at all, and then when I mentioned to hubby that FD was being released, he told me to go ahead and pick dates to book, and if we have to cancel later we'll cancel (we're having a baby next month, so things are a little up in the air this year). I was SO THRILLED that it was HIS idea, because that made it so much easier to be like, well...if you say so! LOL

We'll be staying at AS Sports and keeping the QS dining plan, as we intend to use the extra money to do a couple of dinner shows (hoping for Mickey's Backyard BBQ and Spirit of Aloha!). At this point I'm hoping this trip actually does happen, but yay! Happy to be here :).

sounds like you'll be bringing someone on his/her first Disney trip! :)

I posted a few weeks back that we were maybes for November but we are official now! DH and I are staying at Coronado 11/24(RO)-11/30. We had to cut a day off our trip because CSR has been unavailable 11/30 for quite some time, but seeing as we weren't even supposed to go back this year, I will take what I can get. This is now our 7th trip in 8 years and EVERY time we say "next year, let's go somewhere different," and now, only 5 months after our last trip, we have plans to go back again. CANNOT WAIT :cool1::banana::jumping1:

LOL. we say that every time too. We even started planning Scotland/England and then friends suggested we do Disney together and here we are. :) Still hoping to do UK next summer

And every time we REALLY mean it. We were planning an Alaskan cruise, then we decided to renovate our kitchen and get a new puppy so DH didn't want to go anywhere this year but I can't go an entire year with no vacation! This is why we need to budget for 2 vacations a year--so we can get our Disney fix and still explore new places..hopefully some day that will be a possibility! And you can totally blame your friends for not hitting UK this year...better luck next year:D

I guess there is more than one Nov 2017 thread. I thought I should join over here.

I am planning a surprise birthday trip for my daughter who will be turning 8. I'm hoping not to tell her until we get to the Magical Express. Originally we were only going the 11-17th. I'm so excited to say that after checking the school calendar and seeing that my kids will be off all of Thanksgiving week my daughter and I will be staying an extra 5 days!! We are now staying Nov 11th through the 22nd!! I can't wait to go and not telling her has been so hard. She's been to Disneyland, but this will be her first Disney World trip.

We opted out of trying to do free dining. I had VSG and eat very small amounts. I figure we'll share most meals so it wouldn't be a savings for us. I'm hoping for an AP or general room discount so we can stay at a mod, or at least save a little on our room. Now if I could convince my husband that a 7/8 year old would be fine flying first class it'll be perfect! Only 200 days!!!

OMG, you're a stronger woman than I. I don't know if I could last that long without telling her! On the other hand, you'll get the "We're going to Disney!" Surprised Face that will definitely make it all worthwhile. GOOD LUCK!!!

new puppy here too. LOL. when we spend - we spend.

Does anyone know if MK typically opens early the week of Thanksgiving?? (Not just for EMH.) I've tried to google historical dates/times, but it isn't very clear. We were there last year from 12/17-12/22 and MK was opening up at 7am each day leading up to Christmas so we cancelled our BOG pre-park opening breakfast -- we were able to tour with very low crowds for the first few hours, which was awesome. Just curious if that is the case the week of Thanksgiving since my ADR planning starts next month. Thanks!

I'm already changing my extra day reservation. Found a good deal for Pop for the one night in front of our Boardwalk stay. So I'm canceling All Star Sports. Even thought it's only a $50 savings it makes me feel better about adding an extra day in front. It's only a travel day for us so I wanted to do it as cheap as possible.

Still need to figure out ADRs.

From what I can tell based upon the calendars I looked at for last year, Magic Kingdom opened at 8:00 starting Monday during Thanksgiving week. I am not 100% confident of this but I am avoiding (I am going Thanksgiving week this year as well) PPO breakfast at MK that week as a result.

I'm trying to figure out our touring plan and ADRs. We ate at Tiffins last week and it was so good we want to eat there again, plus we will want to check out Pandora since we just missed that! I'm thinking we will try Chefs de France, the Bon Voyage breakfast at Trattoria al Forno and possibly the Cali brunch. I have to decide where to eat before the half too. We normally do Trattoria al Forno dinner, but don't know if we'll want to try something else. I make ADR's in a week so I need to get my act together!

A bit apprehensive about this trip because it's my first since being diagnosed with a few autoimmune disorders, and I simply don't have the stamina I used to.

I'm joining in and reading through old posts. I'm kinda in the same boat. And nervous about not being able to hit the parks like I used to. My husband and younger son are park warriors. Older son is more laid back. So I'll probably have some company if I quit early and head back to the room for a rest. But not knowing how much I can do compared to past trips is nerve wracking.

We are booked for November 12-18. Contemporary TPV. First time at that resort. Very excited about that!

I just found this thread and am so glad I did! I am headed to Orlando for a dog training conference and plan to spend 2 days at the park prior! So excited because it was actually my DH idea. First time going in November and I was wondering if there anything that I should know about that time of year. We will be spending 11/15 to 11/17 there together then I will be to much in conference mode.

I'm glad I found this thread too! I'm taking my mom at the end of November; we just got confirmed at OKW, and we're super excited! This is my first trip to a Disney property in the US and her first, period! She was just diagnosed with cancer recently so we're going all out and making this a super special vacation. 212 days to go :yay:

We love Contemporary TPV! It's our favorite! One of the things we love about it is being able to enjoy the fireworks in our PJs. I think you'll find it the perfect place to relax when you need a break! Enjoy your trip!

Thank you! That's great to hear. Watching fireworks in my pjs sounds wonderful. :-)
