Please share what you've learned! We are taking a 4 year old and a 2 year old and it's the 2 year old I'm more worried about!
kaybee1476 covered lots of the important points! I really thought I was prepared last year, but it's more about how each individual kid will handle all of that stimulation. The biggest thing we didn't consider was how time my daughter would be in the stroller...and she HATED it. She didn't mind her stroller at home, but at Disney, she didn't want to sit in it. So we carried her a lot - I actually hurt my back that week!
Also, afternoon breaks/naps didn't work AT ALL, and my daughter was a consistent napper at that age (now, she totally skips naps on a regular basis!). We would rush out of the park after lunch, and she just wouldn't nap. We wanted to keep her early bedtime, so that meant we lost a lot of park time. I think if you're keeping early naptimes, then see if they will nap in the stroller. If you're planning on keeping them out later, afternoon breaks may work best.
My daughter's nighttime sleep was also pretty terrible, and she hadn't been waking at night beforehand. We even rented a full-size crib and brought her bedding from home. Didn't matter. She ended up in my bed almost every night. Not sure what we could have done to make this better, but just be aware that their sleep may be affected!
Be flexible. Really, totally, completely flexible. This was the hardest thing for me. I didn't want to lose those hard-earned ADR's and FP's, but we had to change our schedule several times, and there were other times when we should have but didn't. Our upcoming trip is longer, and we're planning on doing less - and since we were just there last year, there's less pressure to get as much done. I hope it will be much more enjoyable!
