I shared with some yesterday that my leg injury (shin splints or stress fracture) might prevent me from running this weekend. After really debating about it, I decided to not run today (I heard the voice of
@garneska cautioning me!). I felt like I was only going to potentially be able to walk with pain and was wondering what longer-term damage I would do.
I wasn't going to sleep in on Marathon Weekend, so my wife and I still got up at 2:30 and headed to Main Street to cheer (she's better at it than me) and watch (my preference). We were there from beginning to end. It was a lot of fun (although not as fun as running).
Seeing the balloon ladies was a bit anticlimactic. The sweepers did allow a single person who was behind the balloon ladies to run up Main Street before taking her off the course. A couple of them on bikes were even taking photos/videos to capture the moment. It was nice to see.
