***Official November 2014 thread***

I'm surprised there isn't a MNSSHP on 11/1. I thought there always had been. I guess it never landed on a Sat? Oh well.

WOO HOO -- booked our flight today (leaving 11/30) and got a great deal ($690 for three people from Atlantic City to Orlando and back) and finalized all our plans -- now just waiting for June 3 to make those ADRS and then these will be a lock!

I can't deny, I'm very upset about it. Going on October 31st never crossed my mind because I didn't want to deal with a sold out party. I wish I could go on the 30th instead but it's the day I arrive after 11 sleepless hours in a plane.

The 31 was a great party in 2012. So much so we are going back this year and next! Go with a touring plan and enjoy!

I was really wanting to attend MVMCP during our trip, but it's only happening on our arrival day. My original plans were to leave on a Thursday night and drive the 17 hour trip through the night, arriving at WBC early afternoon with hopes of checking in early and grabbing a nap before heading to the party. For those that have attended, is it worth the potential crabbiness of my 3 kids, ages 7, 10, & 16? Keeping this would be "opening day" for us.

But the November party was a sell out last year because, I am assuming, it was so much cheaper than Halloween. In fact, I think most years it is a sell out or very close to it. It was likely to happen again. Don't sweat it, I have been to a sold out party and it really wasn't too bad.

Anyone have any thoughts on which of the MVMCPs will be less crowded? My options are Sun 11/16 or Thurs 11/20 because I assume Fri 11/21 will be mobbed with locals. Or are all nights mobbed? Really torn about this because I've read so many awful things about the crowds at this party, especially in November.

Thanks.

Oh, it was sold out as well? Do they sell more tickets to the party on October 31st than for the other parties or it's the same? I think I'm stressing myself over for nothing but I can't help it.

Should I buy my tickets on the same day they go on sale?

Thursdays parties are always recommended.

We're more than likely going on November 20th, our last full day at WDW.

We are planning a trip for November 21-30 consisting of my wife and me plus our 5 children and my mom and dad.(9 in all) I am hoping for free dining, but going either way. I would like to get some advice. I want to know if it would be better price wise to get two rooms at Port Orleans Riverside with the Murphy bed and not have to upgrade the dining plan(only in the case of free dining) or get three rooms at Pop Century and upgrade to the 1 counter/quick service 1 table service. Any advice is appreciated.

I posted above that I am trying to decide between the 13th and 20th. Currently leaning toward Sunday because of DHS early close...the 20th closes even earlier than the 13th at 4 pm. I would worry that may drive crowds a bit more toward MVMCP. Why would November dates be more mobbed than December? I would think locals would want to go closer to Xmas and the overall crowds levels are supposed to be lower that week in November than pretty much all of December.

I don't think you have to buy on May 1 exactly but I would buy them as soon as you are comfortable.

November sold out, for sure. We were there until October 30 and I was paying attention as we didn't nail down our date until relatively last minute. Capacity is the same for all parties but the exact number of tix sold seems to be Disney's secret. :). Are you interested in character meets? That is the only real hang up for sold out parties as the lines are insane. Go to the second parade and don't be too fussy about your spot watching Hallowishes (or find a spot early) and you will be fine.

Thank you! Is it just me or do the hours for Thanksgiving week seem a little short?

This will be our first time being at WDW over Thanksgiving, well actually any major holiday and I am surprised that the hours that week are so short. I would guess they will change? popcorn::

I am having a hard time deciding if we should purchase the dining plan since our TIW will not be valid that week. I guess we could still use AP and DVC discount at some restaurants. Does anyone have any advice on this? popcorn::
