***Official November 2013***

Mine's the one that says "Oh you're going again this year" and to my youngest DD (18) " Aren't you a litle old to still go to amusement parks"

And for this reason, I have not told many people that I am thinking about going again in February.
Amusement parks??? Hmmm I thought they were entertainment parks?????
She must be confused. I don't know about you, but I agree if you are going to be amused, then I know I'm too old, but I'm going to be entertained so I'm just the right age.
Try that explanation!;)

:thumbsup2

I've been invited to be a guest on Capturing Magic podcast next week. The topic is Countdowns. I'm looking for ideas. How does your family countdown?

How exciting for you!!! Congrats.
My countdown is just an app on my phone. My husband has one on his tablet. ;)
If we had young children I might do something more like the fancier people on here.

Then of course I'm on the boards every day looking at my ticker too. :)

Unless your flying SW do any other airlines allow more than ONE FREE checked bag? I seriously doubt few people check more than 1 bag pp with the what airlines charge for extra bags nowadays.

We always fly JB now yes we have more than 1 bag apiece but they are carry ons no way no how we are paying an extra $100 to check more bags.

No need here for more than 2 ME tags :)

Yes we do fly SW. I guess I should have clarified in my previous posts that I have NO intention of using all my tags, lol. Last year we let the kids bring their own suitcase each, and DH and I shared one and then 1 extra packed with food/snacks on the way down and souvenirs on the way back. So 6 cases for the 6 of us. This year we'll probably do the same. So I agree that there is no need for 2 tags per person, but I was just trying to come up with a reason to why they sent so many even though I didn't request that many :) And I wrongly assumed people would want the option of having 2 bags, not thinking about the airline checked bag fees, oops :)

:goodvibes As long as no one is confused thinking that they need a tag for their carry on bag, it's true most people only check 1 bag and most will only use one tag.

Wait, check your tags!!! Make sure you didn't get 24 because one set of 12 is your coming home tags!!!!

I believe there are tags you need for your flight going to MCO and then tags needed when you check your bags at the resort to tell them which flight you are on to go home. (or do we get there at the resort?)

If I remember right, we had to cut old tags off and put new ones for the return flight home.

Check the information printed on your tags.
Just sayin cause this would be something I would mess up.
Especially since my JB flight home is only 1 number off from my flight down.
Small airport.

I didn't mean to cause a stir about my 24 luggage tags :rotfl2::rotfl::lmao:

Thanks for the info, I just checked and all the tags are dated for our arrival on 11/15, there are none for our departure on 11/22. And they all say AK, and we're doing a split stay so we'll be leaving from BLT. :scratchin

That is a lot of tags.

Oh that's cool. I stole my countdown idea from a fellow DISer (with permission of course). This was my son at 70 days, we are at 55 now:

I have 3 sons and no daughters, I'm doomed - and my DILs will definitely think I'm weird.

It's also very hard to not talk about the trip when the person you are going with is not nearly as excited about it. :rolleyes2

But that is why I spend so much time here! :p :hyper:

We have countdown parties. Last week was The Incredibles, next up is Pirates of the Caribbean.

Shielby - great countdown calendar!

:lmao:

I wonder if our Daugher in laws will feel that way about us?
Mine probably will. She will at least think I'm weird.:scared1:

As long as your loving and treat her like you at least care about her and appreciate her, I'm sure you'll be just fine. Let's just say mine was the most selfish and jealous b.... And I say 'was' cause I haven't talked to her in over 5 years. Good riddance. (DH's wicked stepmonster)

Thanks, and great idea about the parties. We have been watching Disney movies to "get ready". We watched the first two Pirates of the Caribbean recently. My boys had never seen it before.

Me, too!

DH and I are doing our first ever "adults only" trip this year to celebrate our 22nd anniversary (2 months late). Every time I ask him for his opinion about the trip- dining, which parks, etc- he just tells me "Whatever makes YOU happy, sweetie..." :rolleyes1

25 years for us. We leave 10 days after our actual anniversary.
I'm getting a lot of what makes you happy, but recently he plays Disney Youtube videos on our tv. And he requested that if I get reservations don't worry about the money. LOL Ok sweetie!!!
We have never had a vacation other than our honeymoon that we didn't worry about the money. I'm ready!

Happy Anniversary! Were celebrating our 10 year 2 months early while we are there. I really wanted a trip for just the 2 of us since we never had a real honeymoon, but when we received the free dining pin it was too good to pass up and we couldn't afford to do 2 trips.
Was curious if you put on your reservation that your celebrating even though it is late. I added ours but at the same time feel a bit weird about it since it is 2 months early and they do ask for the actual date.

We will also be visiting two months before our anniversary too, 14th. :wave2: It will also be two weeks before my birthday. :cake: When a CM asks if we are celebrating, I always just say our annual F&W trip, though. :rotfl: Always felt funny about announcing a celebration, when really, we would go regardless. :confused3 But I do love picking out my own presents!

That sounds fun. So do you have one each week? What do you do for each party? And how old are your children?

Wonder if I can convince mine to watch it. We're doing a pirate-themed day this trip. But DS has anxiety issues about movies. He's doing fine with HP but now sure how he'd do with pirates.

We do plan to watch Up though.
