***Official November 2013***

So funny, we just celebrated our 16th anniversary (22years together!), so will be @2months late celebrating when we take our trip. Not that we necessarily did this trip just to celebrate that. We really booked this trip when we knew we were expecting #4, and knew that a WDW trip would be at least 2-3 years down the line. :-(

Any possibility your DH can speak to my DH. Lol. Our 10 year wedding anniversary is in Oct 2014 & trying to plan something special as we never had an actual honeymoon. We were originally supposed to go to Italy but financially we can't. Soooo I suggested an adults only trip to Disney & was told NO. :( I would so love to do Disney & renew our vows there but it doesn't seem to be in the cards. :(

But on a happy note, Happy Anniversary!!! Hope you have a great trip. :)

LOL sounds like us... I really want to renew our vows in Disney next year for our 10th...Except I wanted to invite the immediate family and DH shot that down! We have tried Disney with friends and family and both times we were miserable!! He just wants it to be us four.

I put a moratorium on cards years ago. Such a waste of money. We don't usually do gifts either, although we will sometimes if one of us thinks of something cool for the other. No quid pro quo is allowed though, you only buy a present if something seems like a great idea, you don't go buy a present just to be buying one so some years he might get one and some years I might - no rhyme or reason. We try to get rid of the kids for the night and just cook together. It is so nice preparing a meal together, having a bottle of wine and playing Scrabble, without the boys bouncing around all over us.

No gifts or cards here either. We try to at least go out to dinner and be in the same room at some point, but.......not a lot of romantic here.
We get what we want or need when we see it.

To all you ladies that get woooed by your husbands, cherish them. I know I could try to do the wooing but.........

So I'm not complaining that I was given most of the decision making on this trip. We had thought about a carriage ride but for me that was more rushing around to be somewhere for a specific time. Kind of took that feeling away.

Not sure if we will do something on the actual day of our anniversary or not.
I'm just happy we made it the 25 years and hope the next 25 can bring more time for us.

My husband and I talked about renewing our vows but both feel that it is a very private thing for us. If we do make the decision to do so, we plan it to be just the 2 of us and our 2 sons. It's a very special and private commitment between us and God.

And based on your miserable experience, I can understand your DHs thinking.
Honestly we asked family to please not even plan a party for us. We don't want the surprise.

I think renewing your vows like that is beautiful! I am hoping that we have the energy after dinner to walk around wilderness lodge or maybe AKL. We will have the rental car until the next morning so easy. We are going to the poly for a bit of exploring and Ohana with the kudos and y, mom the next day :). I've never even been to the resorts I am so excited!!!
Disney has become what I dream about when I am having a really tough day, it usually gets me though. This time I am also dreaming of time alone with Dh like a grown up! Yay!!!

I hope my mom has a great time too, she has her scooter to help her physically. She tends to nag my daughter too much andi hope she doesn't, bunt I will overlook everything I can I bet some of you taking family have to do the same! Good thing is she's not bossy and wants to do whatever we want :). Much easier lol

S I've been overwhelmed with school starting and whatnot, where are you guys in checklists? I have to find some vacation things, but I need to get it together! So what are you Gus doing to plan, organize etc.?

This sounds like me and DH. What I'm really hoping for in the future is that maybe one of my girls will want to get married at the gazebo at GF!:bride:

We (I) actually have a spreadsheet for each year, going back to 2009. If we forget something one year, we add it to our packing list for next year. Over organization, that's me!

I have packing lists for each person in Evernote. And a special one for Disney. I update periodically but I've had the lists for years.

On an unrelated note - I think I have a cavity. We're going to AC this weekend; surprise trip for DH's birthday. When we get back next week I need to find a new dentist. Ugh.

does anyone know if there is a map of the locations of food and wine booths
Hey! Like Terri said a couple of posts ago, the PDF of the map will be released next week as soon as the F&W Festival opens.

FigmentChick,
is your ticker wrong? I'm confused.
We leave in 1 month and 4 weeks and our day count is 58.
yours says
1 mounth 1 week 4 days or 58 days also!!! ????

:confused3
I am at 40 days right now. I swear, there is definitely something wrong with my ticker. Just ignore it. lol We leave for Disney on October 30th and we check-in on the 31st.

My sister and her DH are going too for her birthday!! They are dropping their kids off here in about 2 hours! Where do you guys stay?! Happy Bday to your DH! Enjoy!

This is our 15th anniversary trip. Technically, it's a couple of weeks before we go, but November always works better.

Every time I call to make any kind of change, it's always "are you celebrating something?", so I believe that the note on our anniversary is everywhere it could possibly be!

We're staying at the Borgata. We're going on Sunday and coming back Tuesday. (Because it's less than half the cost of one Sat night.) I wanted to stay through Wed but I didn't have a sitter. My MIL will watch DS Sun night and he has an overnight school trip on Monday. My sister, SIL and BIL are also going.

Happy anniversary to all couples here! And happy birthday to everyone too! So fun to be celebrating at Disney! We went in Jan. one year and celebrated our anniversary a few weeks early. We also were there on my actual birthday one year- not planned- we had to change the dates due to DH's deployment but it just worked out for me!
I'm thinking of adding on celebrating DS's graduating next year. That's really why we're doing this big trip and planning the extra surprise of staying at AKL. Is that too far in advance to do a celebration? I'd appreciate any opinions.

LOL so are they! She was able to get free rooms, so they decided to stay the weekend. They are leaving Sunday morning. Have a great time!

Nice! We've never been able to stay at the Borgata, because we could never go when there is a special or Sun-Thurs. Told DH it's the Borgata on our next grown-up AC getaway, so that will be in about 5 years!:rolleyes1

I have done NOTHING!!!!!:scared1::rolleyes1 With all of the busyness of back to school, soccer starting, CCD starting, going to work, etc, I don't even have time to clean or do the laundry. And of course I need to devote time to the Disboards! I do have my priorities! LOL

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Yes your ticker is broken.
I'm not arriving until November 16th and I'm at day 57 now. :rotfl:

OMG I think we are twins.
I have no desire to clean and do laundry. I have to force myself.
And I don't have kids in soccer or CCD anymore, but I go and help my friends that do just to not do housework and have an excuse.
And when I'm home, I reading what all you are doing.
Yes this is an important priority!!1
