***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

Not in the least. :sad2: They get the puppy dog sad face "you are such bad parents" look whenever the suitcases come out. I feel so guilty. Would love to bring them, but they would hate the crowds. But really, they are better behaved then some kids we have encountered... :rotfl2:

Are you sending them to boarding school while you jet-set to Disney World?

Luckily (since that can get expensive) no. Luckily (sometimes so not!) in-laws live three doors down from us and babysit the grand-dogs. But the guilt trip from the in-laws about paying for a week in DW is a pretty high payment!

Oh yuck, I hate guilt trips. Luckily we invited the in-laws along on this trip so they can enjoy Disney with their grandsons so no guilt trip there. My mother however is a little sad that she isn't coming. She is feeling depressed that her health isn't up for a week long trip right now.

Or maybe they give you the guilt face but they are really excited about the parties they are going to have while you're gone.

Just curious. I understand sometimes being in the park and being on the go is hard for people to do a weeks worth, but has anyone ever brought a family member that might not be 100% able to do everything, but that person comes, enjoys some of the day and rests at the resort?

These resorts are beautiful and relaxing by a pool sometimes is the best medicine.

Not trying to put a guilt trip on someone. My mother in the worse way wanted to bring my nephew to Disney at some point, but when she got her cancer, long story short, I wish I would have taken her and had her do what she could and then let her rest while I finished the day with my nephew. But life was just happening all over the place during that. And I swear we had a major snow storm ever other day that winter.

Sorry Mom isn't able to go but happy you have inlaws that are interested in vacationing with you and that will work for you.

I feel awful that my mom can't come, but she didn't think she could handle Disney. She has advanced Parkinson's (along with a bunch of other issues). She really can't get going until at least 10am and then she would only have a couple of hours in her before she would need a nap. She also gets stressed highly easily because she hasn't accepted her new reality yet.

We are considering a trip just for her that we do all low key things, but although she would love to see the boys at Disney, she doesn't know if she could handle it. If we do go there, we would want to stay on the Monorail line to make things easier for her (and for us to take her back to the resort to rest). We got reservations at OKW this time (booked only after FD came out so there wasn't a lot left), that is a little sprawling for her even with an ECV. She would be too nervous scooting around the resort. I wish we could afford to take a helper for her, that would be ideal.

I'm lucky that my in-laws are so young. My MIL was 16 when she got married to my FIL (he was 22). She wanted to get out of her house (new step-mother) and he needed a green card - it was a match made in heaven ;) They had my husband when she was 18 and he was 24. She is only 20 years older than me. My FIL is semi-retired, but he can still build a house from scratch and he is absolutely amazing. They leave the Disney planning entirely in my hands. Needless to say, that just makes it harder on my mom who has 15 years on my MIL.

So we were at the Bronx zoo today and were waiting for a shuttle after they opened with a man wearing a baby bjorn..but with a doll inside. Oe of those super realistic dolls? Nt sure if yours are familiar but some adults buy these (amazingly realistic) dolls and basically act like they are real. Once the driver of the shuttle talked ot the Guy and it was acknowledged it was a doll and he didn't mind discussing it, I started chatting with him. Ok freaky and weird but the guy was so nice! The doll was even in a tiger costume. It was quite an experience. So he told us how he took the baby (Ethan Constantine) and his sister (angel) to disney world! I asked how people responded there and he said people loved it! He said the Cms were so nice to him and loved his babies. Of course he also told me how mich his babies loved WDW. He talked about how people should laugh, have fun and enjoy life, and ot be afraid to be themselves. I agree with that! So strange but somehow fun....

So, that happened.

I can't believe you actually saw someone with one of these! I just discovered them a few months ago when DD were looking up doll reviews online and ended up on YouTube. My daughter wanted to know where the kid was in the videos. she didn't get that a grown up could be "playing" with a doll. The only man I saw was the father of a teenage girl who had a doll, so not that out of the ordinary. There was a woman on a Disney cruise though, with her husband who was not in the video (maybe filming). Maybe that was your guy!
The dolls are REALLY cute though. My daughter wants one....too expensive for a doll though.

What is "Mickey Mail"? I always thought it was just the term people use anytime they get mail from Disney pertaining to the trip. Is it something more specific than that?

It's the mail you receive approx 45 days before ck in with your vaca vouchers and magical express vouchers

yes we have once did that
we had a dilemma in 2006 when were allready booked for disney. My pop was given 6 months to live. ;( esophageal cancer...We were going to cancel our trip but he had never been to disney and wanted to go so bad. So we brought my pop.He did spend alot of quality time at the resort. Sometimes he couldnt follow our itinerary. It wasnt easy at all hindered some of our original plans, he was ill alot and needed heavy meds but he was so happy , glad we did it because he passed away 3 months later.:littleangel:

I am so excited! 25 days until we leave! Magic bands came last week, ordered Photopass+ and MVMCP tickets, new suitcase will come tomorrow (although I know my daughter will claim it as hers), and today we are going to Disney junior live on stage pirates and princesses! I think I am more excited than the kids about the show!
