How exciting. I love to hear about people going to Disney who have never been before. You guys will have a blast and have picked a great time to go. I have a DS the same age as your youngest, so if you have any questions feel free to ask.

Thanks so much Claryche! One quick question - how did DS do with the fireworks? We want to go to Illuminations and Holiday Wishes (going to 11/19 MVMCP, hooray!) but he's not good with loud noises. I'm definitely bringing ear plugs for him, but I hope he likes it and it's not too bad for him. I know DS7 will love the fireworks. Any advice?

My DS has always loved all the fireworks. Even Fantasmic at 18 months. But he isn't scared of loud noises. I'm sure the ear plugs will help. And there is music playing too, so maybe if you help him to focus on that instead of the bangs, he will do well. We always watch Wishes from the hub, where I would think it would be the loudest, so if you are really worried, then try further down mainstreet maybe. I know Robo has a cool map on here somewhere about the best places to watch the fireworks, so just keep that in mind too.

I have learned that every child is different and even every child can be different from trip to trip or day to day. So the key is to just be prepared and roll with it. For example my DS's fav ride last time was BTMR and he loves POTC and even did fine on TOT. But got scared during the living with the land boat ride when it was like a thunderstorm. And you never read about that ride being scary for young kids. So you never know.

Funny that you are thinking about a March trip already. We are thinking about Feb or March, just because of free dining and the fact that my DS will be starting kindergarten next fall, so want to get in some trips before we are tied to a school schedule.

I'm having so many "wow, we are really going," moments these days. My children have never been and it's been 30 years since I was there so it's like a first time for all of us. I was my daughter's age when I went.

We are not going to MVMCP. We are used to getting up early and we don't stay up very late, we are farmers. I don't think we would get our money's worth because the kids would knonk out early. Our last trip, in Jan, my two youngest got tired early, so DH and I took turns at BWV with them and the other took eldest DD to EPCOT to run around more. It worked out fine because it was so close. This time it will be MK on non-MVMCP nights. I guesss I should note those dates, and we could run around the resorts a bit on those nights. I hope my 2 younger ones have more energy this time.

We booked our trip a couple weeks ago for next month!! It was a bit of a last minute/spur of the moment thing. The plan was to go in May but the free dining and super low airfare from Boston ended up allowing us a 9 day trip instead of 7 day for $2,000 less than going in May!

This is going to be a surprise for our kids and to celebrate my son's 7th birthday! I can't wait to wake them up on Nov 16th and tell them we're getting on a plane and going to Disney World!

We'll be staying at POR. I had a bit of a hard time booking ADRs this late in the game but we got CRT for a 5:30 dinner so that was some good luck!

We took our son to Disney when he was 3.5 (in May) and left my daughter home so we knew we would HAVE to go back and take her. She just turned 4 in August. I am so excited for them!
