There's an oldie of SM from the early 80's perhaps:cool2:

I have *heaps* of old pictures, scanned from my parents' slides from the late 50s - around '58. My aunt lived at Redondo Beach, and on an around-the-world trip, they took te kids to the new Disneyland.

I also have a bunch from the two trips I did as a child, but they'll have to wait for another post....

I have many others, but tried to select a good cross-section.

Eeeeeek ! Sorry they're so big, do you want me to take them out of the post ? I think I need to use Photobucket - at least there's a resizing option with it - I can't seem to get one up with TinyPic.

Here's a photo of me from the mid 1970s. If I remember correctly, I was in line for either the pack mules or the mine train and was sitting up on the railing for this photo.

:worship: My parents couldn't afford Disneyland when I was a kid. My mom's more than made up for it now, though. Thanks for letting me live vicariously through y'all. :goodvibes

I have no idea.. but I thought the side by side was a recent remodel of the seats in SM?

I started a thread like this recently. The old pics are so much fun!

Great picture!

Mine aren't very old. My first trip was in 76 but my mom has most of those pics. This pic is from either the late 70's or early 80's I believe.

This was 90 but it is a character you don't see anymore Roger Rabbit and LOOOVE my stupid outfit. BLEH! LOL

And last but not least this was when Tarzan's treehouse was still the Swiss Family Robinson's house. This was in the 80's based on my Frankie Goes to Hollywood T-shirt. OH LORD! This is me and my dad sometime in the 80's.

I only wish I had my 76 pics with the bicenntenial parade!

I saw Frankie Goes To Hollywood in conert! It was one of the best shows ever! :woohoo:

All of the photos are great! It is very interesting seeing the park in the early years. I must say that I really love the park the way it is now with it's mature trees. It is so much prettier.

These are so cool! I wonder if I have any pics from my '89 DW trip. I remember having a disposable camera with me (I think) but don't believe I have pictures. I noticed the guy in line w/out the pants on too. It is a wonder they let him into the park dressed inappropriately.

Tofub, I like all the pics. Your aunt looked like an old time movie star w/ the platinum hair. I love it! My aunt had the same hair color but it was in a beehive.

What a great look back, keep them coming!

This is from Aug. 1957. My mom went when she was about 11 years old. Notice how few people there are in the picture and no fence around the "moat".

This is the view of Tomorrow Land from the sky baskets, also 8/57.

Those are so cool, Pinkbudgie!... thanks for sharing those! My family was there in the early days but no pics.. :( Thank god for digital!

Sorry if this is an inappropriate thread to post this on but I need help with this picture.

This is a picture of DH and my kids in 2000. I think it is Astro Orbiter but it doesn't look high enough to me. Is there another ride like that in Disneyland?

wdw1973001.jpg

Thanks for your help.

Edited: Duh!!! I posted to soon. There is the same ride in the photo above my post. Doesn't Disneyland have an astro orbiter that you have to take an elevator too like at WDW? The reason why I ask is that in 1989 I freaked out on the astro orbiter type ride at Disneyland. I find it hard to believe that I freaked on this ride that is gourn level.
