Official MK Fireworks Dessert Party!!!

Went 9/18/09 during MNSSHP!
2-A and 2-C
assigned seating Section C
we had a great view from our table! So WORTH it! Cannot say enough about it. A great way to recharge with kids and not have to fight for a spot to view the fireworks!
Check out my TR below for pics!

I have information for anyone with a dairy/lactose intollerance.

I notified Brenda with special diets that I had booked the Wishes Dessert Party and wanted to know what would be available for my lactose intollerant niece. She e-mailed me back and listed off a bunch of items fruit and some pre-packaged brownies and cookies and also Tofutti ice cream.

When I checked in I reminded them I had a child who was lactose intollerant. I was informed that a plate was already made for her and would be brought to the table shortly. WOW were we impressed! My niece had three slices of cake - vanilla chocolate and spice. She was also given two kinds of sorbet-raspberry and apple. The plate also had some chocolate chip cookies and strawberries on it. Nothing was pre-packaged.

The only problem we had was I took her to the bathroom before Wishes and while were gone our entire table had been cleared. My niece had eaten the chocolate cake and tried both the other kinds. She said they were hard thats why she didn"t eat them - I think they may have been frozen still. Can"t confirm as it was cleared before I had a chance to find out. We informed the manager when we returned and found the plates gone. She asked my niece what she liked and brought out another plate with some sorbet and cake. They had cleared all of the cutlery also so we had to ask her for a spoon so my niece could eat it.

We had a great table. Unfortunately you have to go to the railing and wait a good fifteen minutes or more if you want a good view. This doesn"t work well with one adult and a child if you plan to eat. I couldn"t get my desserts and drinks eat and get her to the washroom before the show and also stand at the railing for fifteen minutes. They only start letting you in at eight o"clock and it took about ten minutes or more before we were checked in and shown our table.

I don"t think I would bother doing this event again. It was nice for my niece to get some desserts she doesn"t normally get but we had a much better view a few nights earlier.

My two DS (21 and 16) and I will be going to the Dessert Party on Dec 21st

I just got back from Disney yesterday and I can honestly say that the Wishes Dessert was the most disappointing experience I've ever had at Disney. The desserts were mediocre but certainly passable, but it was marketed as an unobstuctive view of the fireworks while having dessert at your own private table. I don't remember reading that you had to make a mad dash for the railing in order to actually see the fireworks. I was under the impression that we would be sitting at our tables to enjoy them....NOT. It was also my daughter's 6th birthday the night we did it which was noted on the reservation and I also mentioned to the hostess we were there to celebrate her birthday and she told us they would be sure to do something special. There was nothing, not even the usual Disney birthday table decorations that they put down. There was no management staff anywhere to be found after people were checked in. We weren't able to see any of the fireworks as we couldn't get anywhere near the rail and a gentlemen noticed my daughter was trying desperately to get a view of the fireworks so he was nice enough to push over a bit for her and as my daughter was going to get into the spot a woman runs over and literally shoved my daughter out of the way and took the spot and wouldn't move to let my daughter have the spot that the man made for her...my daughter instead walked away in tears and we just left. I even went to guest relations to tell them what an awful experience it was and all we got was a "We appreciate your comments and it's a new experience we are offering." That is about the most pathetic excuse I've ever heard. I would certainly not EVER do it again nor recommend it to anyone.

Wow it sounds like they are over filling this event now, when we went there was plenty of room for everyone. We were able to stay at our table and watch the fireworks, though there were several people that stood in front of us.

We went on the night of the 21st. We arrived to check in at 7:30. We were the first ones in line and it quickly filled in behind us. We were told it was sold out for that night. We were assigned seating area B. We had a great table and what would have been a great view if you didn't have to as a PP put it make a mad dash for the railing. I too had hoped you would be able to sit and enjoy the show. The desserts were ok, but I don't think I will ever do this again.

nothing I read ever suggested that you would be able to sit at a table and view the fireworks. EVERYTHING said you would be standing. Totally rude what happened to your daughter.
