How much dessert do you think we can really eat? I know my son and grandson will be in the cookies and juice or milk. My daughter who is about yay big but 5'10 can put away some dessert. Me and mom, well I going for brownies, creme brulee and some chocolate covered strawberries.

I'm honestly not a big eater- going more for the atmosphere and to make my niece feel special on her birthday. Also makes it more relaxing for me to supervise 2 kids by myself. (I'd be nervous about losing them in the crowds if we watched from the hub)

I can understand where you are coming from. This will be my grandson (2) first visit to the House of Mouse. My mom and daughter have been to Disney numerous times but never stayed at a Disney property. Me and my son (9) are the pros. I thought this would be a good family event since no one has never done this and I don't think my mom and daughter ever saw Tinkerbell fly from the castle so her flying overhead would be great.

My nieces have never been on a real vacation, let alone to WDW... I think they are going to be blown away! Since it may be my only chance to bring them to WDW- and since I don't have kids of my own (and may never), I really wanted to go all out to make things special- while, at the same time, keeping things real and not getting too carried away.

It definitely seems like you can enjoy family more from the Wishes buffet than from trying to stake claim to a spot at the hub. I'm sure you will have an awesome time together! I keep telling my nieces that WDW is about being able to enjoy things together with family members of all ages. (12 yr old niece loves extreme coasters and I wanted to be sure she didn't have unrealistic expectations; she also loves shows and fireworks so I'm sure there are tons of things she'll love)

I love extreme coasters too, but I still love Disney. It's nice to get away from all that. And there's always Test Track.

The CM I talked to said they hadnt extended it...when he looked he realized he was wrong....just FYI

I have a question for those of you who have already done the Dessert Party. I'll be a party of one (no one else in my group will be at the MK that day).

Did you see any other folks at the party by themselves? How did they handle the seating for a single?

Do you think I will be seated at a table all by myself? Will I be pushed all the way to the back corner of the room? I'm not really worried about it - mostly curious...as long as I have a clear path to the dessert buffet!

I think you will be seated at a table by yourself, they put your family name on a card in the middle of the table and the tables are so small I don't think they would put you with a family of 3....... if are seated with someone else I think you will still have a good time. I think it is totally worth the extra expense.

FYI when I called for this date I knew it should have been available, because they were not having a Halloween party that night (will be there for that on the 22nd). When they went to book it for me there was a problem that they ended up needing a supervisor for. They ended discovering that they are potentially adding 10/21 to the Halloween party night list. I was told that they would have to honor my reservation even though I don't have tickets for that night, because I booked and payed for it in advance. I don't have any specifics, but I would assume I would be escorted to the area and without a wrist band I wouldn't be able to take advantage of the benefits of the party anyway. It really doesn't matter, because I will be there the following night anyway. Just a heads up to anyone considering that date though. IMO if you paid for the Halloween party you would not take the time to do this too. That could mean a small crowd.
