How are you all getting such low rates on minivans? Going 10/18-25 and have seen nothing under $600! Tried using the $30 off code and get an error that it's no longer available at this location.

The low prices were available yesterday and went back up late evening. Sorry you missed it. Just watch and maybe it will go down again.

It's gotta be the dates. That's the only explanation I can think of.

In your case I would Priceline Name Your Own Price if your prices don't go down. Start at 2 weeks out from your arrival. I have always (until now) gotten my best minivan deals there

I saw that some of you had $30 off coupons, so I figured I would wait and get one from my membership club and combine it with minivan deal. I tried today and not only is the deal gone on Alamo but my warehouse club didn't have a $30 off coupon (only free upgrade, which doesn't help me). Next time I will just ask my fellow Disboard members to help me out with a coupon code and book on the spot!

If you're Canadian and have a Costco membership I just tried your dates and a minivan with Budget is coming up for $212 tax and fees in. This is through the Costco site and you have to put your membership number in to reserve.
Tried the US Costco and it was over $700. What a crazy game we all have to play to get a good price.

Thanks for sharing got my 2 week mini van rental down to $437.92 from $460.00 all in.
$218.96 per week is a very good deal!!!

My dates for Oct 13-23 (minivan) are running about $390. I just checked the Dollar City Special and it came to $195 for a vehicle 2 weeks from now. I'm hoping my price will go down when my dates get closer.

I currently have a minivan reserved for $461 from SFB on 3/1-3/8. I am holding this one but hoping to get a $25/per day or less through priceline. Has anyone had any success out of SFB?

If you google 7014926 Visa all of the responses say you must pay using your Visa

So i used this code 7014926 to reserver a van and it brought the total down from $418 to $398 for 10 days. If a VISA card is required for this and I don't have one what will happen? Will they cancel my reservation and I have to pay the current price or will it be the $418 price?

I'm thinking you'll have to pay the current price. The $418 has a Visa code attached to it so if you don't use visa they'll revert to the current price. That's my guess.

I just contacted alamo and they said coupon code 7014926 is not a VISA code and any card can be used. No restrictions. Now we will see if I can beat $398 for 10 days before end of January.

Just an FYI. Got an email this morning from Hotwire showing minivans for $17/day for dates in Sept. It looks like it runs through part of Oct also but I didn't check all the weeks. Then I checked Alamo and their rates have come down some for the same time period.

Finally seeing some movement on minivans for Oct. 20-on. Everything has been $400/$500 a week for ages. Prices are still in the $270 range but hopefully will go lower.

Dollar dropped in January and February too. Anybody know the different between a minivan and mid size van from Dollar? Both have the same specs and list doge caravan or similar.

EDIT: I booked "Mid-Size Van" and upon check out it automatically switched the class to "Minivan". So this Mid Size van may be more of a marketing thing.
