"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Sounds like a great time! We plan on being there for our trip in November. Although I have heard some say its not worth the extra money.

You will get all kinds of opinions on this. Many go and swear it was a complete rip off.

We've gone every Christmas trip: 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, & 2010 and have loved it every time.

Some photos of MVMCP past while we wait for tickets to go on sale:

They used to put Santa hats on each of the dumbos just for the parties.

And everyone got a button to wear

And they mailed a photo to your house after the party, even though the background was so, so bad.

Back then, everyone had to get out of the park before the party, unless you were eating at Liberty Tree or Crystal Palace. We went to CP and got to wait out on the porch until we got the all clear (when the gates opened up front) to go into the park. We had Fantasyland to ourselves and it was our first time, ever, in Fantasyland. (We'd arrived the day before and didn't enter the MK until dinner at CP.)

So if we can't swing arriving for the last party on the 18th because of the school schedule and arrive on the 19th instead, will there still be alot to see, do, and eat that's Christmas themed? Are the beautiful lights covering the castle lit only during MVMCP? I know we'll miss the special xmas parade, characters dressed in festive attire, castle overlays and fireworks that only take place during the parties but I'm guessing all of the decorations will still be up throughout the parks and resort to make it feel like Christmas.
You'd should be able to see most all of the things from the parties. The Castle Dream Lights start about the first week in Nov, for the first party, and stay lighted until at least the weekend of NYE. Occasionally they are up later, usually if it's very cold outside, but you can't count on that. The week of Christmas, the 3 O'clock parade is the Christmas parade. That runs the week leading up to Christmas, and then the following week till NYE. I think that characters are in their festive Christmas outfits that week. They do the Christmas Wishes fireworks this week, as well, and the Celebrate the Magic with the Christmas theme from the parties, as well. All the decorations are still up in the parks and resorts through NYE, at least. Starting this past year, they also have Queen Elsa do a little ceremony to turn on the castle dream lights, it's called A Frozen Holiday Wish. This runs from twice nightly, early Nov thru early Jan.

So, basically, all special holiday entertainment from the parties will be shown daily, after the last party on(this year) Dec 18th, so beginning Dec 19th. No special ticket required other than park admission. And, as far as I know, they don't have the free cocoa and cookies. But, if you can't make the party, you will still be good to see all the Christmas happenings! :santa:

I have a question...if I buy a ticket for the party, say for the November 17th party, and then something happens later and we have to change our vacation to the first week of December. Will I be able to switch my party tickets for another date during that first week of December? I want to buy them early, but if free dining does not come out, or we don't get it for some reason when it does, we will be switching our Disney dates to the first week of December instead.

From what I've read, it is not easy to switch dates once you purchase your party tickets and some people have said that you might not be able to switch dates at all. If you are not 100% sure you are going to the Nov 17th party, I'd wait to buy tickets. They do not sell fast and if a party ends up being sold out, it doesn't happen until closer to the party dates.

I can't wait to have a redo of our November 2013 party- it rained the whole time and all the shows and the parade were cancelled. It was so disappointing! We'll be going November 15 on our arrival day and hoping for good weather!

I hope you guys know that any time major party elements are called off (fireworks, parade, shows) for weather, they typically offer compensation (tickets for another night, a 1 day park ticket) if you stop by guest relations. It's always worth checking when that happens.

@mom2rtk you must add that Frozen photo to your signature - I've commented in the past but I just simply love the matching Disney stuff - it's SO cool.

Awwww.... thanks CampbellzSoup! I'm thinking about dredging out some other old photos and changing up the ticker when I have more time. We've had a lot of fun with the gowns. :)

Great photos DemonLlama!

I still regret not buying tickets when we were there in 04. We thought about it over the course of the week then when we were ready to pull the trigger it was sold out. I love seeing the older photos. Disco Mickey is looking quite stylish! :santa:

Love the Santa hats on Dumbo. Our first party was 08 and they must have stopped by then. I'm sure I would have noticed that.

by the way, I discovered that Google/Picasa does #AutoAwesome stuff to your photographs after you've uploaded them.

If you have several photos in a sequence, it creates a new photo with the movement and saves it in the same album.

Thought this these came out pretty cool of the Castle lighting, including the Godmother ramping up in the window:
