"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

We did this party in 2013. We are going again this year, and I asked my daughter if she wanted to do the Halloween party or the Christmas party, and apparently the choice was a no-brainer to her. Christmas party!
We will be there on 11/19/15 - feel free to add my name to the list!

We're going to use that night as an opportunity to hit some of the more crowded rides pretty hard. Plus parade and fireworks - it really is an awesome time.

I'm glad I saw this post as I was just second guessing our decision to go to the party on 12/13. We are not meet and greet people. We'll say hi and take a pic if we're at a character meal or if we run across a character and there is no line but it's hasn't ever really been a major part of our WDW trips. From my research it seems that a lot of the Xmas party is focused on m&g's. Mostly we want to see the fireworks and parade and enjoy an uncrowded park for a few hours. Is it worth it if we don't really care about m&g's?

Absolutely. We didn't do any M&Gs during the party, but we saw the fireworks and both parades.
We also rode the Barnstormer about 6 times in a row, hit Thunder Mountain railroad, Philharmagic, and a few other things that we didn't do during the day.

MOST people are focused on the parade and key up for prime seating really early. However, there are still plenty of spots to catch the parade - and, I'd strongly suggest watching very close to whatever ride you want to go on afterwards.

do you think the first party will sell out? if so when? It's on 11/8 we return for the fantasy on 11/7 and thinking about extending our trip. Thanks!

Planning on going Dec 6th!! My daughter wants to do the first day at Magic kingdom and I figured why not do the party! Plus I scored a BOG at 5:10 that night!!!!

The October 31st MNSSHP sold out on August 21st last year, and I believe that was the first party to sell out in 2014. So while I would guess the first MVMCP will sell out, probably not for another month or two at the earliest. But if that's the party you plan to attend, I'd recommend getting tickets as soon as you can, just in case :)

I don't recall reading this question posed so far....but what are people's opinions regarding missing both parades/castle lighting and fireworks during the party and instead taking advantage of the smaller lines for meet and greets/rides during that time...we are staying the week of xmas and will be able to see these things then with the rest of our family who are not doing the party with us....and as we are doing these things with the family anyway the week after our party night...I am wondering if we should not worry about fitting in time to do them during the party...and instead get to meet more characters/rides...or do people think seeing these things during the party is somehow more magical than the normal nights they have them during xmas week...BTW...this will be our first ever party (and first visit to WDW)...so just trying to work out our plan of action

We were able to add a day to our december trip!! Everything lined up so we will be attending the night of Dec 10th. Can't wait! We have had many trips the last 12 yrs but have never been.

I always struggle finding time to fit everything in during parties, so I would say if you will have an opportunity to see these things another time, take advantage of the party-only activities (such as exclusive M&Gs) while you are there. Not sure I would pick rides over the parade/fireworks, as you could do those anytime as well, unless it's SDMT or meeting A&E. I will say, though, that even on a sold out party night, the crowds will be far lighter than they will in the days leading up to Christmas, so you need to weigh that aspect as well. Good luck whatever you decide to do...and you're lucky to have this option! :)

I will be attending December 17th...I went solo in 2009, decided to bring my family this time. Can't wait!

Does anyone know if Disney has confirmed if they will, or will not, be running the Frozen Holiday Wish show as part of their year's MVMCP?

Official party info (map, etc.) will not be available until the first party (though sometimes leaked a day or two in advance). We should have character info before that, though, but not until much closer to party time.
As an aside to this--the Flower & Garden festival maps had Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party info (maybe even the actual map, I can't remember) printed on the back. I'm crossing my fingers they do the same for MVMCP at Food & Wine! That way we'd have info way earlier :)

Hi everyone! I was hoping to get opinions on our situation. We have tickets to MVMCP on a day we will be at the park all day. We have ADR at CP for 6:20 and am wondering if you all think that is a good idea or not....should we be looking for a lunch DR or??
Definitely think this is a bad idea. Did you find out if they'd let you transfer your tickets to another day? Technically I think the answer's no, but I have heard of exceptions so I hope it works out the way you want! If you haven't already tried though, it might be easier to just look for a CP on a different day.

I was thinking about doing a custom magic band for the trip and was messing around with magicyourband.com...Has anybody ever used them before?
I ordered ours from them and LOVE them! They turned out so great. I made a Christmas Stitch one for my youngest, a Christmas Rapunzel one for me, Ariel for my oldest, and Duck Tales for my husband. I can't say yet what the durability's like since we haven't actually used them. But they seem pretty similar in quality sticker-wise to DVC Cover Bands' products.

Absolutely! In fact you'll probably be able to cover far more than people doing meet & greets will. You can check out the stage shows and/or dance parties, watch the parade and fireworks, and spend the rest of the time focusing on rides and other attractions--most of which will have much shorter lines! For us, the atmosphere, parade and fireworks were worth admission alone. Everything else was a bonus; we had a fantastic time.
