****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Delta changed my connection flight today for my flight home. So instead of sitting in Detroit Metro for 1 hour 45 minutes, I now get to wait for 5 HOURS! Ugh.
The flight I was scheduled for was cancelled and the only other flight that I could take would only have a 15 minute layover and I don't want to push it. Guess I will have to find something to do in DTW for a while.

Just did online check in for AKV.:cool1:
Officially one week until we leave!!
I still have so much to do. However, that is what this weekend is for. Laundry, cleaning and packing. I have a pretty full work week next week but that should make the time pass quickly.
Vacation officially starts after work on Fridaypixiedust:

This time in two weeks DH and I will be having a very early breakfast due to jetlag from flying the previous afternoon....and we will be preparing for going to MK on our first full day!! :goodvibes

There is sooooooo much to do, but I seem to be spending all my time dreaming and reading Dis stuff! :)

It will be good to escape this rotten English weather too, and get some sunshine! :beach:

Looks like we have two trips in the same time frame! We've never had two trips this close together! In fact we took two trips in 14 months last year and felt guilty! Then we bought AP's and that kind of went out the window:rotfl:

I am really looking forward to AKL. Funny.. I never had any desire to stay there at all. And then on our last trip we went to Jiko and we were so impressed with the resort. I also like how it's tucked away on it's own. I think we are going to enjoy it.

I have to be honest though, I've never had a Disney stay I didn't like. Value or Deluxe is fine with me. We've had a bad night here or there, but never because of the hotel. Usually it was some fluke, like a really noisy night at Pop. That can happen anywhere though.

I'll actually have three in twelve months :goodvibes. Was at the Poly with my middle son in September (surprise birthday trip with my sister), this trip with just DH and our August trip. I had also bought APs when I realized we'd have two trips within a year - and then we decided to do this quick May weekend trip to maximize my pass. Do you think Disney knows what it's doing offering the AP?? ;)

I agree that every resort is awesome. We love the All Stars, all mods except CSR (just didn't like the theming - no problems), and the Poly was fantastic! I'm really excited to try AKL - like you, we've only visited for meals, but it's such a beautiful resort. Also looking forward to trying a villa - first time for that.

Down to two weeks :cool1:

Lobster Benedict & Strawberry Soup. Both of which are at 1900 Park Fare which we're not going to on this trip but we did make an ADR for the Grand Floridian Cafe and they have Lobster Benedict on the menu :cool1: I'm so excited!

W-e-l-l, I'm not much of a breakfast eater, more of the :coffee: junkie, however, on our trips?
May not be the best ever, but someone in the family better get a Mickey waffle with strawberries. I don't know, there's just that feeling for us after all these years going to Disney and the kids growing up, that someone gets a Mickey waffle!:goodvibes

I just noticed our thread got a new change.....HOLY CRAP Now I'm excited...although I'm at the end of May and most of you will have abandoned me in a few weeks...but at least by the time I'm at WDW you all will be at home in a post-vacation depression ;)

this is why I shouldn't drink caffiene in the afternoon, I get snarky :hyper:

I'd be lying if I didn't say I'd had the same snarky thoughts, LOL. :joker: Misery loves company!

That does not sound fun! I spent alot of time at DTW as I flew there for work for several months - not exactly a happening place. :scratchin I'd say bring a good book!!!

My favourite breakfast item at Disney is the sausage rounds at Tusker House. Weird but true.
We also loved the Cape May Buffet character breakfast.
We don't have either of them (or any breakfasts) booked this trip because we decided dinner was a better use of our dining credits. I'll miss them. They are a great way to see the characters with short waits.

Thank you for the pic. DD4 is the kind of kid who literally stops and smells the roses so she is very excited to see all the flowers. I keep showing her pictures. Would you be able to tell me where this is located? This might be a great spot for her and daddy to play around while I stroll with DD1 to get her to nap. :)

Hi this is just to the right of the international gate way coming from future world -- I walked out of Bambi's Butterfly house and down the path on the right into the world showcase and it was right there..

We usually use our quick-service meal in the morning, at the resort, before we head off to the parks... We're really not huge breakfast eaters. We save the table service meals for dinner. :D

We leave for the Beach Club in 12 DAYS!!!!!

Holy Moly Macaroni I am getting excited!!

I ended up making a change to our trip. I upgraded to the DDP!! I actually still made some really good ADR's! I was suprised too.

I still may make a few more, OR I will just use the rest of my credits for CS places.

I even managed to book BBB for my daughter. She has to go to the DTD location but that is perfect. Her appt is for 3:15 But our Dinner at CRT isn't until 9:25. I say that is fine!

Count me in for May 11th-19th at Coronado Springs Resort! Party of 15 celebrating my 25th, err, 40th Birthday! :cool1:
