****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

Question of the Day:

When spending time in DTD, what are you most recommended places to see, shop or eat at?

Love the World of Disney store, the Art store (can't remember the name), the Leggo displays, Wolfgang Puck Express for lunch!!!

Would like to see other parts of DTD this year.

Our favorite place to eat is T-Rex. You can't beat the appetizer plate as an entree. :thumbsup2

As far as places to shop....everywhere!

I'm planning on doing just that! Ordering the appetizer for my entree.

This will be our first time at DTD so I have no idea what to expect. We're not huge shoppers but we love to look :)

The other thing was the same trip. My mom and brother met up with us for a day or two at the parks (we were in FL for my cousins wedding, and DH and I ditched as soon as it was over to go to WDW). My mom, for some strangely unknown reason, has the hardest time saying EPCOT. I cannot TELLYOU how many times she said "EpCo*K" instead. She asked a CM what time the bus to 'EPC*K' would arrive, and they just kind of froze. My highschool age brother would turn FLAME RED  everytime she did it and the rest of us would just :lmao: :rotfl2: She is joining us at the end of this trip, and I'm dying to see if she has trained her brain to say EPCOT yet. It's been a running joke in our family for about 10 years. :rotfl:

This was hysterical! Gave me the best laugh...

We will be starting our drive in 10 days, I am getting so excited! Think I will start to pack tonight. It'll be easy since the weather is getting back into the 50s and 60s here, all the summery clothes will be available to pack!

I only pack enough for 4 days and do laundry. I enjoy it as some wind down time. There's not much laundry but I get to sit by the pool while I'm doing it ;)

We spend most of our time in World of Disney and Basin. We also stop in Goofy's to get our snacks, and like to eat at Paradiso 37 and Earl of Sandwich. I do like to stroll thru the other Marketplace shops as well!

...oh and I have a little change!

I ordered the bruschetta, queso dip and chips and T-rexadillas for my three appetizers and I loved each and every one of them! Be prepared, though, it's a lot of food.

DTD is a great place to just walk around and take in the atmosphere. We usually run into at least two or three performers. We've seen guitar and violin players, a full band performing, a guy playing an Australian horn thingie (I forget the name.), a juggler and even a dance party. There seems to be more going on in the evening hours but the daytime hours are fun too.

Do make sure to pop into Ghiardelli and get your free sample of chocolate. That's a must for any chocolate lover. ;)

We usually go to DTD at least twice every trip but, since I added a Disney Cruise to our vacation plans, we are only going once. :sad1:

Another Earl of Sandwich eater!! YUMMY - I had the Chinese Chicken Salad Wrap - grilled chicken, Field greens and Romaine lettuce, Chinese mix, crispy won tons, fresh soy ginger dressing last week and it was DELISH!!
I am going to try WGP Express in a few weeks when I go back.. Love the pretzel place and goofy's candy shop too

Love to wander around the Christmas store and pick out a new ornament for our tree and who doesn't love to shop in the World of Disney store..

Love looking at the really cool Lego creations..

Question of the Day:

When spending time in DTD, what are you most recommended places to see, shop or eat at?

We love Wolfgang Puck Express, Rainforest Cafe, All the shops with clothing, the art store, Ghiradelli's, Goofy's bakery, the kitchen and the christmas shops, the kiosks with the caricature artists do a great job, BBB is always fun for the little ones,...well, you get the idea:idea:! We usually start where the buses drop off, and meander all over. It's just fun to 'get you into the mood of Disney' if you haven't been to the parks yet!

And Ghiradellis chocolate shakes are to die for! Usually my big splurge on the trip!:cheer2: So, a definite must try!

Earl of Sandwich is a great place to go to...if there's a line, don't let it scare you...the line goes down quick. Also bring your AAA card if you have one, 15% off.

Also check out Ghirardelli Chocolate. You get a free sample, and anything you get there will taste great! There are discounts for various cards here too...

This is a MUST NOT MISS for us!!! I mean, have you tried their build your own treats??? because once you do you will NEVER forget them!!!

Here are few we have made...

and I'm not sure if they have these anymore but DD got one of these at Goofy's Candy Co. our last trip...

if you want my advice - make at least ONE build your own treat. We let DD do it and DH had one taste and decided we all needed to do one another day and it became a tradition.

I am at 33 days and I am at the beginning of Disney packing! I have started picking up one snack or drink item each time I go to the store and I'm packing them into a Disney bag that I'm keeping in my dining room. Hopefully when it's time to go I won't have to buy many more snacks for Disney or the road! :)
