****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

15 days until we leave - 16 days until we're officially in the World! :cool1:

Really getting excited now! :yay:

We'll be staying at the POP, from May 20-27.
Dessert Party on the 22nd :thumbsup2
I'm taking my wife down so she can rest from surgery being performed on her hand. It will make it easier for her to relax, and not worry about things that have to be done around the house.
Our AP's just happen to expire on May 28th too... glad when a plan comes together :thumbsup2

15 days until we leave :) I want to start packing my suitcase but think it may be a little bit early

finally made it into the 30's, now i guess i should get started on digging out the clothes and things i'm gonna need to take, and maybe start playing with my new camera so i'll know how to work it :confused3 by the time i get there.

Question of the Day:

To add some humor to the May board, what is the funniest/craziest or most radical thing you heard or saw in Disney? :lmao:

Twice now I have heard some vistors as a CM a question related to, "Can you take the monorail to Universal?" or "What bus will take me to Seaworld?"

No lie! I :worship: those CM's for keeping their compsure and not laughing!

Since I have only been one other time and it WAS 20-something years ago, the thing that still makes me laugh was waiting in line for Space Mountain and my step-mother (who is deathly afraid of rollercoasters and heights)says "ok, so this is just a walk through planeterium? Then that are those fast comets?" we had been in line for 45 minutes before she realized it was the ride and not comets. She refused to speak to my dad the rest of the day.

I HAVE been to DL more times than I can count having lived in LA for a decade, I loved when people would ask where Epcot was! ummm, Florida!

Question of the Day:

Mine was a little bizarre. We had just eaten at Chef Mickeys and were going back to the Magic Kingdom. We were lined up at the monorail stop inside the hotel waiting. There was a family with a little boy (maybe 3 or 4 years old) in front of us. The little boy told his mom he had to go pee.
She pulled a POTTY out of her giant bag, took off his pull up, and let him go pee. Right there. In the line. On a potty. In the Contemporary.

She also had to take his pull up off to do this, so it wasn't like he was in danger of wetting his clothes.

THEN there was obviously nowhere to dump the contents of the potty so she carried it (carefully) onto the monorail with them:sick::scared1:

Needless to say I made sure we were in another car.
It was just odd.:rotfl:

Question of the Day:

What are some must see attractions at the resorts?

Ex: Carriage Rides at POR

I Love doing the Pressed Pennies both at the resorts and the parks

I'm just... URGH. I can't think of any other word. I want to leave now. ;_; And I keep watching the weather forecast, hoping we won't get stranded at the airport, or something. Unlikely, but... being paranoid is part of the deal, I guess!

At the POP, they have this enormous arcade... Bigger than anything we have here in NH, in any case. We got a coupon for 100 free points in the arcade, so we're definitely going to check it out.

Also, the Fantasia Mini Golf (Epcot Resort Area) is on our list of things to do. :)

I can't wait to use they 100 free points in the Pop Arcade!

Was just in the world last week and watched a mother who didn't want to lose her spot in the DTD Resorts bus line have her friend take her little boy over the the fence and pee .. Had to tell one dad who was telling his little DD that Minnie & Mickey's houses were closed after he was doing big elaborate storytelling about what thier houses were like. Listened to someone say that they were going to walk thru the Haunted House :)

Not Disney unfortunately, but SeaWorld. My Dad was stepping into the Atlantis boats but as he put his hand out to grab the front of the boat for stability he grabbed the lap bar instead. Of course it couldn't take his weight so he started to fall into the boat, to save himself he put his other arm out for the back of the seat but missed & instead grabbed the lap bar for the row behind. Same thing happened & he ended up head first into the boat. No damage other than pride & a few bruises, but I have never laughed so hard. The ride operator struggled not to laugh. The entirety of the queue that saw it were laughing with us.

What time does the 3:00 parade start? Poor cm looked a little flustered when he replied back "3:00".

I have two funny moments (probably more, but this is what I remember most!).

My DH and I were there before we had kids. We were staying at the Contemporary, and were just arriving back to get off the bus. DH got off and started down the sidewalk. I, however, apparently was tired or something, and I totally fell out of the bus flat on the sidewalk. I just laid there for a sec thinking, 'Uh, what just happened? :confused3 ' DH turned around and looked at me completely dumbfounded, and said "What are you doing?!?!? :scared1:" I said, "what does it look like? Falling out of the bus!" DH was so dumbfounded he didn't even help me up, some other guy did while asking "too much fun at Pleasure Island?" :rotfl: I hadn't drank a drop.

The funniest part (now, I was totally :furious: with DH at the moment) was that DH asked "what ARE YOU DOING?" Like I had chosen to be flat on my face!

The other thing was the same trip. My mom and brother met up with us for a day or two at the parks (we were in FL for my cousins wedding, and DH and I ditched as soon as it was over to go to WDW). My mom, for some strangely unknown reason, has the hardest time saying EPCOT. I cannot TELLYOU how many times she said "EpCo*K" instead. She asked a CM what time the bus to 'EPC*K' would arrive, and they just kind of froze. My highschool age brother would turn FLAME RED  everytime she did it and the rest of us would just :lmao: :rotfl2: She is joining us at the end of this trip, and I'm dying to see if she has trained her brain to say EPCOT yet. It's been a running joke in our family for about 10 years. :rotfl:

lol! that is funny!!! sounds like something my mom would have done :) The only thing I have is on our first trip we were on the monorail and I was talking to a family from New York. They were bragging about how much they come to Disney and how they just love it there (you would think they knew the place inside out)... the lady kept going on and on about how she couldn't wait to visit Mickey & Minnie's houses in MK that day. Of course, this was after they had closed that area down and the houses were long gone. I didn't say anything though. She seemed like the type that would argue.. lol..

17 days and I feel the drag starting... I'm cranky, crabby & irritable. I need me some Disney! NOW! :lmao:

15 days until we leave :) I want to start packing my suitcase but think it may be a little bit early

Mine is mostly packed, just got to throw a few more outfits and some last minute things like make up, curling iron and things like that! Never too earlier:thumbsup2

I am going May 15-20 on my first all adult trip, so it will be very different. It is also a first for me in that none of my immediate family are going. Husband is working, oldest two kids have graduated from college with real jobs (yay!), and youngest daughter is still in high school and can't go (boo!). Normally, I would think this would be a laid-back, easy trip, except that my sister and her college-aged daughter are still rope-drop people, as well as huge Star War fans, so the days will be pretty active. This is also a first for me in that of all our Disney World trips through the years, I have never been in May; it does seem like one of the best times to go (if you're not trying to do October and Christmas). We're staying at Pop Century.

Well it's official, I've started to pack! Less then 3 weeks to go and packed those things that I will not need before now and then. Also packed our Keurig. We got a second Owner's Locker. We eat breakfast every day in our room so this will be a great addition.
