****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

My shirts are done! :D This is just one of them, but there's 8 in total.

I mailed them out to my family, yesterday. :D We're at day 44 over here, so no more reservation changes! Point of no return, baby!

I need to save a little more spending money, and lose a little more weight, before we go... :rotfl:

They are really cute!

I looked at my calendar of things between now and the day we leave and let me just say: :scared1:

I'm exhausted just looking at reading about it! :lmao: March was a super crazy month for us here, so April will DRAAAGGG only making the trip seem further away.

Question of the Day: What is something that you pack that is not on typical packing lists?

Someone mentioned it before, but power strip for charging all our electronics. Not something I thought I would ever need. :lmao:

5 weeks left to lose at least 10 lbs. Ugh. I should not have waited... lol

I'm in the same boat! Let's motivate each other. I MUST fit into my shorts. :rotfl:

Shirts look fantastic!

Let's lose those last few pounds together!! :cool1:

Thanks guys <3 And YES, we can all lose weight together. Lets do it!

Of course, when I get to Disney, I'll have the dining plan, so I'm likely to make up for those lost calories. :lmao: But you walk so much, I think it balances out...

I'm also weird in that when I'm hot, I just don't enjoy eating. I can snack all day though. :goodvibes

Speaking of walking, as long as the weather stays above 50 during the evenings, I am taking DD4 on walks. It takes us an hour to walk a mile, but I just want build up her stamina. We aren't commando so I don't need her to be in marathon shape. :lmao: Trying to convince DBF to join us, but he swears he doesn't need it....he really has NO clue what he has gotten himself into.

I always pack some clothespins to close up the curtain over the window. Somehow that little sliver of light peeking through is always shining on my face! ;)

Oooh, good idea! I usually end up throwing a t-shirt over my eyes. :lmao:

We might see you there! Ours is 8:05am. We are planning to push through until closing and then we are having dinner at Rainforest Cafe. After that, I am not sure. We may do DTD too or hang at Pop since the rest of the parks all have really high numbers. :confused3

If you see us be sure to say hi!!
I will for sure say HI!!!! I plan to have large lime green bows inside my window - so if you walk by my room knock on the door to say hello !!!

We will do a rope drop - late lunch/early dinner at 50's at 2:55 and possibly hit one or two more things before leaving the park so we'll most likely be gone by 4 or 5. :sad1: OOh so sad!

But he's SO TALL!!!!! or is it the skates? :confused3
I know right he is like 5.9 (I'm only 5 maybe 5.1 my DD is 5.4 but my Ex is 6.1 so I guess that is where its coming from)

Ex: I pack 1 or 2 Sham Wows, they are super absorbent cloths to dry seats and other things after a mid-day rainstorm.

I bring clothes pins too like MHTeacher. I also bring sandwich size ziplock baggies and single serve powdered drink mixes to add to water..

at this time two months from now we will be starting our descent into Orlando MCO! TWO MONTHS!! that might cure my headache!

I wanted to say that our dates have changed -- we will be at ASMu from the 12th to the 23rd now.

Time to catch up on some questions...
-I have several apps DisneyParks, WDW Maps, WDW Waits, WDW Hours, MouseWait (FL and CA) and Disney World as far as park apps. I use MouseWait the most.

-We don't really have a favorite CS in MK. We always seem to end up at Cosmic Ray's or Pecos Bill's. They're both decent, but not favorites. I want to try the waffle sandwiches at the LS CS this trip.

-I don't think we bring anything really out of the ordinary. I pack the kids in Ziplocs. Does that count? ;)

I feel like I missed one, but I can't remember.

Well, March is almost over!!! I'm another one that can't wait until April to say that "We're going to WDW next month!!" My mom called today to double check our dates because she was turning in her leave forms at work. It's getting closer!!

:lmao::rotfl::lmao:
Good Idea! Less messy that way!:rotfl:

28 days to go here.
Booked our rental car last night. Found a good deal at Budget through Expedia.ca

I'm really really excited. I think time might actually be slowing down.:rolleyes1

I was so going to say something about the kids in ziplocks... lol...
We got our car through Budget too... never rented a car before so I'm not sure exactly how it's going to all work out but I hope we have no issues :)

Let's see, I think the oddest thing we pack is our Dolce Gusto coffee maker.

I think everything else is pretty normal. I do take my big fluffy slippers to wear every time we are in the room. Talk about a foot saver.

Question of the Weekend:

What are some attractions that you recommend getting Fast Passes for? Have you seen any sold out? Have your utilized more then 2 fast passes a day?

I haven't seen any sold out or been able to utilize more than 2 fast passes in a day. I'd recommend fast passes for Kilaminjaro Safari, Test Track, & Toy Story Mania.

Hmmm. I've seen fastpasses sold out for Toy Story Mania and Soarin on every trip. The Mountains (Everest, Splash and Space) on a number of occasions as well.
We typically use several fast passes in a day. We like to ride our favourites over and over. So it's not unusual for us to grab fast passes for test track and Soarin' and ride them 2 or 3 times each on our Epcot day if we can.

Epcot is hands down my favourite park, so we spend a lot of time there. :)

I asked on the transportation board where the car rental desks were etc. Apparently the consensus is that it's best to stay together to get the luggage and then go to the car rental desk. We're getting in so late (12:30 at night) that I had hoped the kids and I could grab the luggage while DH went to get the car. But the people who responded felt that would get really confusing because of trying to find us after he had the car.
I am just going to hope we don't run into long lines at that time of night. I will program our GPS to get to Universal way ahead of time.
Oh and apparently there are tolls so make sure you have change for them. If it's billed to the rental car you pay a hefty service fee!

I will put the info in this thread for you once I find out exactly how it all works:)

I recommend Fast Passes for TSM, RnRC, Peter Pan's Flight, All 3 mountains at MK, Test Track, and Soarin'.

We have used more than two fast passes a day during lots of trips. Many times we use one for a ride, and then grab another FP when we come off the ride. Soarin' is one we often do this for! :thumbsup2

During normal times, I always see TSM out of FPs. When we were there for New Years Eve a few years ago, most of the headliners were out of FPs by the afternoon.

budafam (or anyone renting a car), this is a good recent thread on the tolls. From what I am seeing, as long as you are staying in the Orlando area you don't need the toll transponder, but have change with you. http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2900415

Thank you! I never even thought of tolls.

TSMM, Soarin', Test Track... really anything that you CAN get a FP for, I would! It saves you so much time. Even if you don't need one at the time, get it and come back, ride again in a bit... we always have FP's in hand. Toy Story is the only one I have ever seen sold out. I would say we average at least 5 rides a day just with fast passes... probably more.
