****Official May 2012 Thread**** ALMOST TIME TO LEAVE!!

How am I just finding this thread now??!!
I posted on the April thread, but we don't get to the Disney portion of our trip until the night of April 30th so really I think I belong in here. Can I join you? I don't complain or eat much.:flower3::rotfl:

Today is officially 29 days until vacation!!!!!!
I am so excited!!!
You are DEFINITELY welcome!! :goodvibes Join on in! Your trip sounds around the same time as us - We arrive April 26th - first park day is the 27th but we are starting in WDW and will be around there til May 5th.

YAY we wont be there till the afternoon - my confrence goes till 11 and my hubs doesn't arrive till 12:06 so I am guessing by the time we get there it might be 3ish, but the plan is to stay till closing - (ride Toy Story Mania and see Fantasmic!)

We will do a rope drop - late lunch/early dinner at 50's at 2:55 and possibly hit one or two more things before leaving the park so we'll most likely be gone by 4 or 5. :sad1:

this is myself, DS and DD in early March at Senior night for Hockey - My DD is the senior (Ds is only a freshmen)

But he's SO TALL!!!!! or is it the skates? :confused3

Can I ask a question?:confused3 Noticed some of you were going to the Rope Drop at MK. What time do we need to be there for that? And...I thought I read on another thread that the MK Rope Drop is the only one now. Is that correct? What time do we leave the resort and allow time for the RD?

After all these years of hitting WDW, this is one of those that we want to try! Thanks for the heads up!

M-I-C see ya real soon, K-E-Y why because we love Disney that's why... M-a-i-l, Mickey Mail, Mickey Mail!! So if you couldn't tell we got our Luggage Tags and resort vouchers in the mail today. Happy Dance 1 time, it's getting closer and closer.

What is you favorite quick service meal in Magic Kingdom? Would you recommend it for kids and adults?

Used to enjoy Figaro Fries, but those are gone :( Do love going to El Pirata y el Perico, or what is now Tortuga Tavern for the taco salad. I would recommend it, and we'll probably hit it the second MK day. I think on our first MK day I'm going to try Columbia Harbor House. I'm pretty sure I haven't ate there before, and after reading many rave reviews I'd be a fool not to try it :)

Question of the Day:

If I granted you 2 FREE meals at any 2 Signature Restaurants, which 2 would be your first choices?

The only two I've been to before are Cinderella's Royal Table and Le Cellier. I'd definitely go back to Le Cellier for one and then try Yachtsman Steakhouse for the other :)

Our goal is to try to be at the bus stop/monorail at least an hour before scheduled opening time. We used to go earlier, but it's just too hard to keep a little one occupied for that long.

I really dislike driving to MK, so we rarely drive there. I am not sure what time you would have to leave if you are driving.

We got our Mickey mail today also:banana: I have 30 days left and time is going soooo slow. Cant wait to get there already:)

we now have 29 days 7 hours 25 minutes and 30 seconds till we hop in the car and start our drive, and you're right it is going slow, but at least time is moving!

Just coming here to let you all know that I'm getting a pre-Disney trip fix tomorrow night! Taking the kids to Disney on Ice!!!! :)

:banana:We will be moving from US-RPR to WDW-OKW on Monday May 21 and then staying till park closure at MK Monday May 28 1AM we will then return to OKW to meet Tiffany Town Car Service and go to Embasy Suites airport for the rest of the night. :grouphug: :dance3: :surfweb:

:thumbsup2 Thanks so much! We are driving (ugh...long way from Memphis), but the last time we drove, we parked the car, and went Disney transportation all week. Mine are all older now, but I wouldn't mind doing one RD, just for the experience. We've thought about it before, but we're such die-hards, we do good to get there right at opening time due to being at the parks until closing the night before.
:rolleyes1 Just might try to give it a go this time around!

Okay, I am so behind! I need to make the girls a couple outfits still for our trip and I haven't even gone to the store to pick out patterns! Ugh!

I'm going in for a root canal this morning (see this? Yeah, not me right now) and since I'm going to be home this afternoon, I am having DD ride the bus home from school. I have to finish her headpiece for her ballet so we have to go to the fabric store. I may have to force her to look at pattern books for a while...if I even feel up to it.

I looked at my calendar of things between now and the day we leave and let me just say: :scared1:

We have a ballet, a 3rd birthday party, a recital, Easter, in-law visits, dance company auditions, and I have to fit in a dental visit, sewing, and getting the backyard ready for a playpark that will be installed in two weeks. My lovely in-laws decided to get my DD a playpark for her birthday, so that means the overgrowth in our heavily wooded back yard needs to be cleared out before then.

Vacation! Take me away!!!!! :lmao:

We drive down from Atlanta, so we have our car with us. DH's commute used to be awful for work, so we would always just park the car and not see it again until we left. Since he's changed jobs a couple of years ago and we moved closer to the city, his commute isn't as bad, so we drive more to the parks, but MK is not one of them that we drive to. It's just more of a hassle than it's worth.

We enjoy the rope drop show at MK. I tear up everytime by the time I hear "The castle is the entrance way to seven lands and more" (which is about the third line of the first song) and then I get a cheesy grin on my face for the rest. Yes, I'm a dork!!!

Question of the Day:

What is something that you pack that is not on typical packing lists?

Ex: I pack 1 or 2 Sham Wows, they are super absorbent cloths to dry seats and other things after a mid-day rainstorm.

This may be typical for others, but it's new to me this trip -- a power strip for charging our phones, computers, cameras, etc.

5 weeks from right now we will be in the air on our way!!! Our countdown posterboard is getting turned around today to the other side!!! So exciting!!!!!

The kids are leaving for the weekend to go by grandma's so I am going to begin packing everything (I put all the kids outfits in ziplock bags so they can just tag a bag in the morning and get ready).

We did Toy Story movie night last night and had so much fun! We had Pizza Planet Pizza, Barbie & Ken's Mac & Cheese, Sarge's Salad, Mr. Potato Heads & Green Alien Milkshakes. I hid moonrocks (tin foil balls) all over the house and they had Disney World candy inside of them. Then I gave the kids presents (a slinky & Toy Story Mania for Wii). Next movie night is Mulan for Monday night when they get home from grandma's :)

5 weeks left to lose at least 10 lbs. Ugh. I should not have waited... lol

My shirts are done! :D This is just one of them, but there's 8 in total.

I mailed them out to my family, yesterday. :D We're at day 44 over here, so no more reservation changes! Point of no return, baby!

I need to save a little more spending money, and lose a little more weight, before we go... :rotfl:
